  1. "a D&D crpg game EVER had a good trailer? Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment etc all had meh trailers too." All the IE games had great trailers. Toee had a great trailer. NWN1, and NWN2 both had great trailers. Hell, even POR2 had a solid trailer considering the game was complete crap.
  2. TOEE had a great combat SYSTEM; but the combat itself was horrid.
  3. FO3 had a better trailer, and I hate Betehsda. I am interested in SOZ; but this traier does nothing but some of stuff NWN2 fans already know about the graphics. Sure doesn't pump me up like I think it should... could be just me being mad that Obsidian are bigots, and won't add wild dwarves. BOOOOOOOOOOO!
  4. "Bloodlines has crappy combat? Try saying that while playing NWN2, KOTOR2, Mass Effect or Jade Empire." BL is a cool game; but it has some of the worst and most boring combat ever. KOTOR series (both games as is BL) are super easy but they at least look much cooler. "DA will probably follow ME and Jade combat wise." Nope. 'Caused while both ahve stat based combat, player skill plays a huge aprt too hence why they are Action RPG. BL has a lot more in common combat wise to JE and ME thoguh its combat is 1 billion times worse. "Bloodlines has crappy combat? You have a gun, you aim and fire. You have a melee weapon, you slice and dice or blungeon them to death. What is so hard about that?" Nobody said BL combat was hard... well.. other than hades. They said it was crap, and they are right.
  5. "But it doesn't explain at all why they have to look and smell like orcs." They smell like orcs? How do you know this? And, to me, they don't really all that orcish to me outside of being ugly. L0L "give me example of crappy uniquiness and why it is worse than crappy genericness" When did I say this? Crappy is crappy. 'Originality' is a near useless buzz word much like 'epic' is. R00fles!
  6. I'm glad the game is 'generic'. As long as its good. The thing I hate the most is people actually celebrating crappy unique stuff. L0L P.S. They're not orcs. Not even close. Any similarities are superficial. I'm gonna call the spawn gnolls as they have lots in common with them.
  7. "So is there a reason they look and behave and smell like Orcs? I mean, really?" They're not orcs. That's like saying any ugly vaguely humanoid is an orc. That would be like saying creatures in D&D like gnolls, bugbears, etc. are just orcs. Those creatures have a lot more in common with orcs than the spawn too. In fact, outside of being ugly humanoids who love war they have nothing in common with orcs at all. And, being a ugly humanoid who loves war is nowhere near being unique to orcs. Might as well just say the spawn are just bugbears. *shrug* I think why people call them orcs , and refer to them as that it's because people feel the need to stereotype things into neat little packages. Sad, really. I mean the spawn - fhwat we're told are true - aren't even natural creatures.
  8. But, they're not orcs. Orcs aren't creatures that were corrupted when they wrongly entered heaven. Of coruse, that is if what the Chantry teaches *is* true, Not guaranteed.
  9. "I think I get where you're coming from but that line of thought is flawed since writers don't write characters from their experience of their self but write them from their experience of others and as such their gender is mostly irrelevant when talking quality of or romances characters." Actually, one of the things inspiring writers are told is to do your best to write what you know, or have experience. Of course, not always possible like in the case of fantasy but that's why writing often involves lots of research.
  10. If you really want to know the information go the the forums. They're there for a reason, and a quick search under a BIo dve name tag should get you to the thread(s) rather quickly with little worry of the fawning (despite the fact that a huge number of posts are critical of DA so your theory is silly to begin with, L0L). All I'm gonna say is we know LOTS about how DA combat works, and it's not hard to stop the ignorance either. Lots of awesome info, and if BIO stays true to the post in question, DA will be spitting and mocking on the rudimentary passes IE combat with ease, and style both.
  11. "The acid test is how they all balance and integrate into tactical combat. I don't know if AC absorbs or deflects damage (or both). I don't know how strength / agility style stats impact on bonuses for melee. I don't know if there is the light / heavy armour routes depending on DEX-type bonuses." Read the DA forums espicially the BIO dev posts. They have multiple times posted a certain post that lists a bunch of different combat modifiers. There were 10+ things listed, and it wasn't all inclusive either. We know quite a bit of combat, and how it works.
  12. NWN was awesome on release. Most successful BIO game to date for a reason.
  13. It's basically the same as IE, and Aurora outside of have no 6 second rule. You can pause the game whenever you want to select your move. Like BG/NWN2, you can control all characters in combat.
  14. Crap.
  15. "didn't see too much of it in the video yet, just a lot of confused hackin'." if one were to watch BG without having played it in videosall they'd see is that, too.
  16. Looks awesome. Best RPG since ME, and MOTB.
  17. Nope. Like I said, this has nothing to do with being saviours but flexing their military might... too bad, that if they keep it up, they're only spiting themselves. Does Russia really want the Cold War round 2? Don't they know what happened back then? Did they forget? Do they need another reminder? Their threats of a 'strategical premeptive nuclear strike' on Poland sure sound slike they want another Cold war. I guess they want their power to be even further eroded. *shrug*
  18. "Wrong answer Volourn, Georgia attacked South Osetia, while there was in the zone russian forces and killed 10 russian soldiers, then Georgia STARTED the war." No, they didn't. South Osseita *is* Georgia. They wnatet o be serpate but they aren't. Also, the Russians were suppsoed to be in SO/Georgia as PEACEKEEPERS. They broke their mandate. "Serbia didnt attacked the NATO and the NATO bombed Serbia
  19. "Georgia started the war," No, they didn't. They never attacked Russia.
  20. "when you could be doing things that everybody will enjoy." This could be said about anything optional that not everybody enjoys - side quests, dialogue, races, classes, you name it there's someone who dislikes it. *shrug* Bottom line is enough people do like them that they're worthwhile for BIO to put them in the game, and I believe they're usually better written than most other side stuff, and more worthwhile role-playing wise.
  21. I don't fear the AL representative too much. Definiotely beatable. People keep saying the AL is too powerful for the NL, and the NL has no chance in the WS yet 2 years ago, STL DESTROYED Detroit. That said, it won't be no easy task for the Mets to get past the NL in the playoffs (if they make it).
  22. $60 - $80 like most new games.
  23. Problems or not, romances in BIO games must be doing something right or else they likely wouldn't be as popular as they are. I eprosnally like them as they are (usually) heavy on the role-playing and making chocies with consequences which RPGs should be about. Besdies, they're not any worse written than your average side quest. In fcat, they are usually better written. *shrug*
  24. Nah. He's just an old geezer who should retire just like his bouddy Glavine. I am glad the Mets no longer are saddled with Tom "I'll Choke Big Time" Glavine. Mets, and their 'replacement' Santana are sitting pretty right now - unless they 'choke' again. Heh.
  25. "It has the potential to be even worse than Chateau Irenicus" This was awesome. "Temple of Trials..." This.. not so much.
