"You can't go around insulting it just because it makes you feel good." You thjink i spent $70 on a agme just so i can come on the geeknet and waste my time criticizng it? L0LZ I buy games to enjoy them. I didn't enjoy AP 'cause it's not a well made game. It's not even in Obsidian's top 3 games and they've only made 5 games (2 of which are expansions). Sorry, but I wanted to like AP. It did not deliver. Don't blame me. Blame AP. "1. Where do you get that? Seriously do you have numbers? Or are you taking that thing out of your ass (sorry for the rude language) The only thing that I can say about AP is that it has the most choice and reactivity than all other games I've played in its playtime. I don't know if theres other games that have overall more, though. . Completly different dialouges only to name the simplest. Your allies that come to help when you need it or provide you with Support like the mixed cocain in the brayko fight. The way how different things can end." Tons of games have as good or better C7C than AP including Obsidian's own NWN2 OC, MOTB, and KOTOR2. Then there's the FOs, BG2, NWN, HOTU, JE, ME series, DA, BL, ARC, TOEE, and probably another 100 or so I didn't mention. AP's C&c is simply nothing special. "2.I gave my reasoning why its not. If you decide to actually speak about the scene instead of gibberish I'll be here to discuss your pont -"It's poor writing W -
Poor preview. "The narrative shift to a single character has allowed the team to craft a long and single narrative around a defined person like Hawke (who can be female as well)." The narrative shift was always focused on the PC, dumbnutz.

"Volo mad, Volo BASH! Take a deep breath and fix those typos :D " Nah. that post is harmless. You wanna see me bash? Go to the Codex. "What I wanted to say is that that the story was as linear as stories in bioware games. No real choices and no real consequences except for those two I mentioned." L0LZ BL has tons of C&C. Wayyyyyyy more than AP does that's for darn sure -
Don't like it quit it.And, if it goes too far, have the guts tio take it court. Otherwise, go cry elsewhere. Game companies are not unqiue to this kind of experience.

"Bloodlines doesn't really have C&C" yes, it does, and it has way more of it than AP does. "How was that an insult?" Oh, please. It was an insult made to make fun of the guy's 'job'. 'Yuk yuk, I thioguht youw ere the janitor, yuk yuk!" It's menat to put the guy down. Not exactly fitting with the so called 'professional' line of dialogue. Very poor writing. "Unless we develop technology that lets us see into the future, you can't form an opinion of something you only saw a small portion of." Ridiculous. People make these kind of judgements all the time, ansd it's called using common sense and paying attention. We all do. It's how we decide what games to try out, what movies we watch, what books to read, what tv shows to sit down infr on ot the boob tube. How many people here have read a Harlequin romance novel? How many here who haven't yet have labeled them simple trash? I bet quite a few. I've played AP, I've read the reviews, I've read spoilers, I've read posts from both pro and anti APs so I have more than enough information to thumbs up or thumbs down it. P.S. Labveling someone a troll for having a different opinion is hilarious. Then again, i find it much easier to label someone than actually discuss things. Apparantly, you guys to do. P.S. I've been on the Obsidian baords for eyars, and I'm not goiung anywhere sinc, overall, I like Obsidian just fine even if AP is a subpar game. *shrug* -

"Also AP's writing is very. VERY good. Especially dialog and e-mails. " Example of AP's 'very VERY good' writing: Dialogue Choice: Professional = making fun of characters' professional = lolz for all "Bloodline's C&C sucked. It's true, I heard it on the codex once." Not all Codexers are created equal. Codexers are just random interent geeks, anyways, nobody special. Just like us peons here. -

Yes, I'll quote Codex posters. More trustworthy than other sources. That's for darn sure. Espicially, since Codex posters btw, post elsewhere. In fact, I'm sure many of them post here, and I'm sure many of them enjoyed AP just fine. P.S. I didn't use him to say he's 100% right but it disproves that theory that by playing the game multiple times that it'll magically be better or the C7C will be magically awesome. This is a guy who played the game 3 times yet criticizes it, and all I can think of is he's a tool who played a game he bashes 3 times. That's a ridiculous use of time. -

"Consider that the game's tag line is "Your weapon is choice". Very frustrating that the game is not be rated based on the one thing that is unquestionably (trolls need not respond here) noteworthy." Oh, I judge it on its C&C. It's just nothing speacial. It's not noteworthy. AP's C&C pails in comaprison to other games including other Obsidian games. And, the 'decent' C&C doesn't make up for all the crappy aspects of the game including but not limited to story, characters, writing, combat, etc., etc. P.S. There's a guy on the Codex who played the game 3 times and explains, in detail, why AP's so called 'aweosme' C&C sucks. *shrug* "- Bloodlines: Rememberd for dialog, the rpg elements, not for the combat system (there were also numeros complaints about shooting) etc." While I personally liked BL, it's a poor example since it failed popularity wise as well. "- Kotor II: The dialog, certain parts of the story, not the combat system which was sadly just as broken (due to bugs mostly though)." Majority of KOTOR2 fans ennjoyed the combat just fine. "- Motb: The dialog, the story and and and. Again, while it has some nice gameplay elements there is a large controversity about them and there are many players that hate for example the spirit meter." MOTB had good a combat system, and it is just an expansion so no excuse not knowing how the gameplay worked. Who cares if peons disliked the spirit meter. Bottom line is AP's C7C and overall is simply not as good as those 3 games. -

All you have to do is look at the reaction AP fanboys (which is not the same as AP fans as AP *fans*a re kewl dewds) have when these review threads come uop with negative reviews on the game. It's all about putting people down who dislike the game. I see AP exactly for what it is. It's a RPG. Just a very poor one, imo. Definitely no MOTB, NWN2, or KOTOR2. That's for darn sure. -
" I hope they learned how to do dialogue wheel properly from AP." L0LZ Consideirng how poorly AP did it in comaprison to the MEs, I surely hope BIO doesn't learn how to do the dialogue wheel from that SOZZY game.
-
The right choice isn't always the easy choice.
-
Heh. I was replying to your statement as if it were a question because you had 'have your..' at the start. btw, Anyone who thinks that DA2 will only have struictly 3 dialogue ioptions ar ebeing fooled by a horrible preview, BIO has flat out said they lied . And, I quote: "We put up to 5 choice options and 5 investigate options per dialog node. There is also a difference between choices (where you are actually deciding something) and giving you the opportunity to express yourself in different ways (which I think is quite cool, but not something I believe we have released any details on yet)."
-
"Have your NPCs run into the bonfire in the first attack, have them run outside of the circle in the second attack, have them separated in the dungeon in the infiltration when the skeletons get triggered." No.

Plenty of companies treat their employees fine in the game industry. Mya dvice to people who don't like how they are treated is to quit, and find another job. That's common sense.

Actually, he did insult people. He insulted Amerikans, he insulted reviewers, he insults anyone who disagreed with him. The only difference between him and me is I'm more unfront and honest. At least the people on this baord whoa re pro AP ar ehonest - they believe anyone dislikes AP is dumb. Fair enough. -
How can anyone be massacred at Redcliffe? Easiest part of the game no matter what difficulty you are on, or your party composition is. Easy easy easy.

"But I don't know what to think. Thankfully, this game was released a bit earlier in Europe, so when bad reviews started to drip from the US, a lot of people already knew that the game was much better than what they were being told." This line is a perfect illustration of the arrogance of European and those who like AP. Very hilarious. He might as well just stay 'only stupid dislike AP' or 'Amerikans are dum dum'. Pretty much gets his point across. -
Don't forget the Redcliffe also had another decision to make as well once you entered the fade that could screw up your plans as the Sexxy demmon offers you awards to let her go. Unless you are rle-playing a goody two shoes, that could be a nice decision with potential C&C.
-
"I've wondered for some time whether Flemeth takes over Morrigan by the end of the game regardless of your actions, to be honest." I hoep not. "having played the game multiple times, we wonders why a developer would want a player to attempt redcliff first." Because, along with the mage tower, it's by far one of the two easiest areas of the allie quests. L0L Zombies L0L L0L Doggies LOL As for the tower-redcliff quest connection, you only get the option to get the mages' help if you don't wipe them out out during that quest so if you are anti magi you are out lof luck in regards to that quest. C&C, punks, C&C.

Yeah, so the writing magically gets better the moment I quit the game. R00fles! P.S. Are you admitting the writing in the early game sucks? -
"Volly, I don't want to be rude, but look outside the window. WRPG's developers are far from the only developers in the industry. I won't say more, because quite frankly, it would start another ****storm debate." I haven't forgotten non Western rpg developers. In fact, some of my fave devs are from non westernrpghs devs. Nice try, though. I wa sjust sticking with rpgs since this is a rpg based developer forum. And, lying is rude. You meant to be rude. This still doesn't change the fact that BIO is one of the most creative game developers in the industry no matte the genre no matter the country.
-
How is exaggertaing? There are very developers who can be argued to be as creative or mroe creative than BIO. And, please don't claim Obsidian with their game log of NWN2, KOTOR2, DS3, ME3:AP, Aliens: Canceled Before Eaten, or FO3.5:LV. Or Troika with their popular D7D module, their vampire game 'sequel', and Arcanum (the only with real creativty with it). BIO went from making medical software to making video games. That says everything I need to know.

So who is working on this game?
Volourn replied to Flouride's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
This should have been a quick thread. The answer is Obsidian.
