  1. I can't comment on the actual difficulty/design of that game, but the video is hilarious.
  2. Story-time with Adam! ...I'm glad he's reading some of the text out loud, because I can barely read any of it. Even at full screen.
  3. Hubs and I started the Wildlife Preservation quest path at lvl 40, reached the boss fight at lvl 41, and .... totally failed. Boss monster was lvl44 and the skags were often multiple 43 & 44 Fire/Shock BadAsses. We knew it would be hard since we were a bit underleveled - we had originally thought maybe we'd level up enough on the way there. Wrong. Took us a long time/many deaths to get to the boss arena. We tried almost everything, including me staying "up top" to Revive hubs and be support as he ran around below. I'm pretty good at getting 2nd winds but too many of those and death becomes inevitable. After about 25 hard deaths each, we quit. Meaning, we have to run the entire long path back again since the only loading-save point is at the beginning. Heheh. Not sure how to get better gear, nothing that drops has been worth a darn for the past few clvls. Hopefully the 2nd run attempt will be the charm.
  4. I'm not generally into "steampunk" or modern weapons in fantasy games, but I *do* like the explanation/story around why they're created and used in P.E. (anti-mage anti-mage-shield). To me that makes sense, within the framework of magic fantasy...to have researched/developed a tech in response to a magical defense that is/has become troublesome to troops. So I'm cool with it. I don't think we'll be seeing "guns, guns everywhere" or anything.
  5. I'm not sure what I want more ... the Update, or for Adam to actually start playing.
  6. My main personal point is that I want multiple save slots. I certainly don't think anyone, on either 'side', has suggested that you can't save at all or something. But multiple save slots/files ... where I can choose to save in this slot, play for an hour, then choose to put the next save in a new slot, creating a new file. There are numerous reasons why I like/prefer multiple save files, and most of them have little to do with wanting to "cheat" the game/combat all the time, every 5 minutes or whatever. Anyway, that is what I want, and that is what I've had the impression that the 'anti-save-scumming' folk do not want. Thus, we will never see eye to eye. If I'm wrong on this, please correct me.
  7. My PrintScreen button is getting a lot of use today. I liked the level-scaling answer ... fits my notions, at least.
  8. I'd love a feature like that in many games, not just RPG's. Especially if it could then save a log of all your notes, perhaps, to a txt file or something. In the "old days" I'd use up whole paper notebooks writing down information on quests, trades, skills, item locations/info, etc. Still have some of them in a closet, heh. I don't do it anymore, however. Too much work and too easy to Google-Fu the most vital info these days, if I really need it. Still, it would definitely be cool to have it in-game and keep you immersed within the game because of it.
  9. If I lived in S. Calif. instead of N. Calif, and they did something like that, I'd be there. Standing in a corner acting like a useless giggly fangirl, but there. I haven't been able to convince hubby to move south yet, however.
  10. If it's important/comforting to you and one of your ways of honoring/remembering a loved one, that's what matters. There's nothing frivolous, pathetic, or silly about wanting to do that. I'm sorry to hear about your father, Cant. Hugs.
  11. No chat that way though... You can pop out the chat window too. I just don't since I'm less interested in that part.
  12. I lol'd. Many times. I popped out the video window but yeah...it's hard to focus on both equally.
  13. He's back. With lunch. Where's mine?
  14. I just saw Prometheus last night, so because of that, the giant head in the mega dungeon gave me an initial start. I love it ... can't wait to get in that dungeon and explore.
  15. Dear Adam: I love your cap. ...this is great.
  16. It was great to wake up today and see the "backers" number having gone up so much.
  17. Hm. Do you mean that he wasn't actually on Earth in that scene? That one hadn't occurred to me, actually. By the end of the film I had concocted an elaborate theory that there were two "factions" (or something) of Engineers...one more peaceful, one more violent, and that the latter (that the crew encountered) was bent on destroying the former's work/tests for some reason. The ship designs being very different, and then the timespan of first creating the life only to test-destroy it (millions of years) makes WMD-test only seem a bit of a stretch, unless they're so long-lived that that's only like a year to them.
  18. Prometheus: Visually glorious in some places. David the 'droid was great. Main female lead was ok (husbands comment:"Apparently in the future, they gave up underwear and bras for cloth bandages."). The rest of the cast had little to do/I didn't care about them at all. I felt more empathy for John Hurt, Tom Skerritt, and Harry Dean Stanton in Alien than any of the people in Prometheus. It's actually not a terrible movie, except towards the end where it kind of jolts you out of the mood it tried so hard to initially create by becoming more of a boo-monster flick. Might've worked better if they'd just left that out more. My main problem with the film was that there were too many moments where I started thinking about Star Trek V.
  19. I liked Honest Hearts. Especially the fact it rained. I was so excited/happy when that happened. Maybe I'm weird tho. It does remind of Red Rock, but IIRC, it had an overall paler tone to it. Dang it, stop tempting me. I must get at least one BL2 chr. to lvl50 first....
  20. The Might and Magic series always felt a bit more like an action game than a RPG. Not that it didn't have a story and quests and chr. building and all of that. But pretty much I spent all my time in the game ... walking around and fighting stuff. Wasn't much in the way of interesting dialogues or quirky characters or what have you. Still...I liked them a lot for the action I guess. And the spell system.
