  1. Anyone seeing early screenings of Oblivion? Reviews are pretty mixed, from terrible to so-so to "fairly decent." Hubs seems interested in it (via theater I mean), so I may get dragged to it sometime in the next few weeks. I guess that's fair, since I'll likely "drag" him to Star Trek... I thought he did well in the role too, altho he wasn't particularly charismatic on-screen. And I remember how I thought "Kevin Spacey as Luthor! Perfect!" .... sadly, neither of them could save the film. I still like C. Reeve best, at least in the first and second films, even if they're obviously era-reflective dated at this point. I like to pretend the others don't exist.
  2. That's from the official FBI YouTube, btw. Footage of two guys that they're interested in now I guess. Boston.com article regarding Also: FBI website page with stills and the same video.
  3. Musing: I do really like the size of the 27", and I do like the larger size of stuff on screen because it's 1080 instead of 1440. Assuming a sharp photo to begin with, photography editing doesn't seem to be very affected by 27" @ 1080, just the low quality photos on some websites, which I don't care about. Movies I don't watch while 2 feet away, so don't care there either. At the same time I'm still curious about whether I'd like or even prefer the higher resolution. Argh. But hubby still rolls his eyes whenever he mentions my 590 (he'd never spend more than $150 on a GPU, lol), so I hesitate to run out to spend $700-$900 on a monitor just to check it out. They really don't tend to carry many of the 1440's on the shelf in stores around here, either. I am definitely not mail-ordering to "check out" the bigger resolution if I might just send it back.
  4. The only TV serials I've been watching regularly are The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, The Voice, and recently, The Americans. And BBC Sherlock...but they don't make episodes often. Used to watch House but that's done now, and CSI:Vegas post-Grissom just doesn't quite work for me. I try other shows as they come and go, but not much captures my attention these days for more than 1-3 episodes anymore.
  5. I tend towards the muscular build/it's really easy for me to build muscle, and was into cycling and gymnastics. But I also liked ballroom dancing and a bit of ballet and frankly, even tho I could do the dancing well enough in form, I was too "heavy" (combined with short) to look Grace Kelly graceful while doing it, which annoyed me on a personal level. And my long-distance for anything was always lacking in comparison to shorter or sprinting-sorts of things. I figured it was more a lack of the long-distance training in my case but yeah...I'd imagine the physique has the effect too.
  6. The game I wanted, Planet Explorers, just became Greenlighted, so I am happy. Knock Knock looks like an interesting game tho.
  7. ....interesting. Even more so if it's not a zombie game. So tired of big-title "horror"=zombies lately.
  8. I'm from California and I have what I'd call an odd mix of liberal and right-wing. Mostly, I don't consider myself specifically party related, since my views on issues crosses into both territories, so to speak. I don't like being pigeon-holed into a political "party," either. One can be liberal in one area and very conservative in another. Hubby (also raised in CA) is more conservative in more areas than I am, but he's nowhere near what people think of when they say "Republican," either. 60km? I became tired just reading that sentence. ...I like being in good shape (and used to be so) but I am also so very lazy, as well as having a lot of back/knee injury and arthritis issues. Maybe it'd help with someone standing next to me screaming in my ear. Anyone want to volunteer?
  9. Thread pruned/pruning in progress. Accusing other members of being dense etc. because they have different opinions/expectations makes me frown. Let's try to stay away from that, please. And remember....you can always choose to not hit that reply button.
  10. Who said anything about them having to fight for you? They could be familiars. Sneaky little thief familiars with speed and stealth bonuses. They could look mostly like Earth cats and meow like Earth cats but not be Earth cats...in P.E.'s world, perhaps they bond with owners in some minor telepathic way or whatever, if you have the skill to create such a bond. eg, you can use the "it's a fantasy setting/not set on Earth so cats don't have to act exactly like cats on Earth" reasoning here just as much as you can for historical accuracy, combat, and lighting points.
  11. Those can be decent jobs. Had a friend who did that ... now he's the branch manager down in Texas. Which isn't to say you'd want to go that route. If you're good with people tho, it can be tolerable work. Hubs did the McD thing early on and became a shift manager while working on some schooling. He couldn't stand it either.
  12. I personally prefer the Lex look (and the sunglasses) but that 'stache (and hat) is pretty rockin' too.
  13. *Mr. Black walks/brushes by kitchen table* Notary lady: "Goodness that's a big cat. I'd say that's more of a leopard." Why do these documents always require about 40 signatures from you? Never enough to just have the big pile and sign it once or twice to acknowledge the whole shebang. Feels like if they could, there'd also be a signing ceremony with a pentagram and slicing of palms. At least it's finally done. And don't have to pay May's mortgage payment either. It was amusing to observe that my husband's thumbprint is about twice as big as mine. Time for some tacos and then some playtime.
  14. Now there's this. Sunflowers and what appears to be a hanging man in front of some austere building. https://vine.co/v/bFldAQgTIr6
  15. @Humanoid - I can understand those types of concerns/considerations. It is more work to create fleshed out companions, which is generally more preferable than mindless combat followers. I'd certainly prefer them to focus on the game/world itself over companions if it came down to that. There's just something about being "alone" in a vast RPG game that I find a bit off-putting tho...one of the things I didn't like about MW. Then they put companions in Skyrim and I didn't like the ones they made/how they did it, vs. something like Kotor's or even FNV. :/ So they do need to be done well, or not at all.
  16. I learned a new word today! "Gurning." See, the internet is useful! ...and I liked Ecclestone (how do you even pronounce that name anyway). Not as much as the other two, but for some reason I did.
  17. Love those mountain shots. Also....20 yr. old cat. My last kittah lived to be about that old. He'd old-man dodder around, sleep in his basket...very sweet. @Malcador - haha...I used to collect pens. Not "collect" ... I just liked having lots and lots of pens. So my drawers would look like that.
  18. Haha, love that graphic strip. Too true...
  19. I like companions in my rpg's tho...so I'd still like to at least be able to have one or two followers. Doesn't have to be a full party. And can be optional/mostly option, like FNV. I'd like an RPG that felt a bit more sandboxy, too...but not in the same way as the Elder Scrolls games. I'm not sure I could describe what I mean/want, very well, however.
  20. I know....I just ate too many in one sitting. Heh. I've always annually bounced around in weight a little, usually not a big deal...but the past year or so I've gone a bit past what I consider tolerable. Too much eating out again. So trying to be more careful about what/how much I eat. Not a strict diet per se. Sometimes it's just hard to keep myself from eating "just one more". Also, it's past 4am and here I still am...didn't drink any caffeine after 3pm either. Sigh. Guess that notary will get a bleary eyed stare and stuttering penmanship.
  21. That's what the "S" really stands for! I know the problem with Superman being too powerful and that isn't cool anymore, but I still like him.
  22. *struggles to load/watch the trailer* ... Why does YouTube suck so much lately. Goes from 32KB/sec to 400KB/sec and back and forth and stop and start half the time. Anyway...I like that trailer best so far. Still a little too "new skool/serious" for my tastes, but I might enjoy it.
  23. ... I was going to make a silly joke here, but I think I shall refrain. ... But I know what you mean. I've never done anything remotely on the level you probably are, but ... yeah. I've been there in spirit. :D edit: clarification
  24. Benedict Cumberbatch, will you marry me and be part of my ever-growing male harem? No? .... darn. In other news ... legal notary visit tomorrow, so I guess I better get to sleep before 4am this time. Also...after being pretty "good" diet wise the past month and losing 4 pounds, today I ate too many mini-chocolate donuts. *hangs head*
