The internet: reminding you periodically how much closer to being an old fart you are, thru the number of scrollbar clicks required.

Fassbender is The movie was decent too. Especially that quicksilver scene. Fun and funny at the same time, I enjoyed my popcorn.

Noticed there was a game on Steam called I am Bread. Another weird simulator I guess? Went to YouTube. Watched TobyGames 1st video of the game. I wasn't convinced to buy it, but the video/Toby sure made me laugh. Back to 7DtD.

Way more fun than The Sims.

Journalism and sexism in the games industry
LadyCrimson replied to LadyCrimson's topic in Way Off-Topic
I was going to watch the video, curious what this was about, but then noticed the length of the video. Yeah, don't think so. I'll go find the cliff notes somewhere... -
If your chin is hitting your chest vs. being pointed up in the air, you're probably fine.

Some people are definitely hard to shop for. Which is why hubby and I stopped trying (for each other). Hehe. Currently falling sleep on my keyboard.

Tom Cruise is maybe 5' 8" with his shoes on. I think most in popular-Hollywood tend to be between 5' 9" and 5' 11", with many of the latter calling themselves 6'. Not that it matters...they can make you look taller or shorter whenever they want. There are plenty of 6'+ actors in Hollywood, tho. I thought Jackman was the best thing about the X-men movies for the most part.

That ball makes me think of HAL. You should keep looking for more of those, and buy them up whenever you see them. It always bites when something you love is no longer made, and you're scouring the world hoping to find some, somewhere. Which reminds me, I think there's still some of those small basic MS mice that I use on Amazon. I need to snap those up, they're hard to find on-shelf in a store now. Hopefully they're actually the same and won't feel off....

The Official Romance Thread
LadyCrimson replied to Blarghagh's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I think at the moment computer game environments are still rather limited in being able to express a developing romantic love. It's not just whether dialogue is written well, it's the whole question/response/rep systems available/often used in crpg's. Even if I like/appreciate the effort (vs ignoring it), it's not going to evoke emotional response from me. Too perfunctory, not in-depth enough. It's not romantic. My own imagination making up who gets to hook up with who, is still better. -
7DtD - a little annoyed how, even with zombie spawning off, when you're mining 35+ blocks underground, using no torches/fire, and are supposedly "undetected," screecher zombies randomly pop in and still know you exist, and start attacking above-ground fortifications near your location to flush you out. So you either: one, take minutes to climb all the way back up to fight the horde they'll call if you do expose yourself to be officially "detected", or two, wait it out and let them turn everything above you into rubble, or three, exit/reload and they magically disappear for a while. So far, they never seem to stop/go away once they spawn, so I exit/reload. And yet, if I'm not digging underground and wander aimlessly topside at night, no screechers, ever. They apparently have super-spidey senses that are only attracted by digging sounds.

Ritualist, Class Idea
LadyCrimson replied to Osvir's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
In the future, let's please leave out ethic/religious group debates from the game suggestion/idea threads. It tends to be off-topic and may lead to thread pruning. -
Oh I'm sure there are better board games, many of which I've never heard of/seen. I was just joking. I've rarely liked board games when it's not in-person, tho. It's just not the same for me. Plus I stopped playing board games in my early-mid 20's, too, so anything new is over my head. I remember way back when there were people who wrote some scrabble-imitation games, back when there wasn't an official software version, which the company didn't like... I still mean to learn Go someday. When I was a kid, instead my parents got me something called Pente. I liked the colored glass stones.

When are they going to get Drakan:Order of the Flame? I wouldn't mind fighting while flying on a dragon again. Maybe my disc would still work on XP... @Keyrock - squee...Xmas rodent.

I don't see RISK. Or Scrabble. I'm such a fuddy-duddy.

I could tolerate Anton as young Reese, since he was young Reese. Although I didn't think Anton was quite right for that, either. I do like Jai Courtney in what I've seen him in before, but ... sigh. We'll see. I assume Arnold is playing a Terminator with his aging chip turned on.

I wasn't fond of Salvation, but I didn't think it was the worst (T3 for that role). I tend to watch almost anything that Arnold is in, because I like Arnold, even if it's just to giggle at/with him. The trailer....my personal problem is T1 is one of my favorite all time movies, and unlike with some other reboots, I will not be able to get past the fact that Kyle is played that guy, even if I do sorta like that actor. Those brief rebooted scenes...he is not Kyle Reese. Nope, no, no.

Must have gotten some bad take out last night. I feel terrible. The kind where it's not enough to make you hurl so you'd feel better faster, but the sort where you are just nauseous and headachey for hours and hours. Blargh. I kind of like the swirl, although I think it should be shorter (not extend past the bottom part of the A) and maybe a little thinner, so it's not competing for eye's attention over the AP as much.

I am starting to think (thankfully minor) physical ailments tend to be attracted to Woldan. It's probably because he's in such good health and the wellness gods just like to mess with his head. ...nothing to report on my end. Stay up too late, sleep too much. Occasionally pat the kitty on the head. Normal state of affairs when I obsessively play a game for too long.

Is that woman trying to pull the leg-hose out of her butt? ...it's a nice chr. character, actually, but I'm disappointed because most of the male heads shown are kinda fugly. Maybe it's the hair. I'm picky about hair.

It does'nt really have a nice ring to it, does it? Another good one is ixquick. Neither are data-mining you like google, bing, et al. Thanks, gives me another option. ...and yeah, duckduckgo is an odd name. But I haven't actually used google's search engine in ages, so I started thinking I should stop saying "google."

Spaceballs was awesome. Corny, but awesome.
-
I'm too lazy to duckduckgo it, so what's the news re: the original cast roles/screen time, anyway? Last time I saw Harrison Ford was in that alien/cowboy movie, where I kept thinking he looked and sounded way too old for this ****, which was very distracting. eg I hope their roles aren't action-y ones.

7 Days to Die conclusion: With zombie spawning turned low or completely off, the current alpha version is most excellent for my sandbox/building desires. Digging, farming, finding loot, forging materials, hunger/thirst, exploring in a map that never stops drawing itself no matter how much you wander. Plus I can change some stuff via the config. files. Hence I've copied the entire Steam folder of the game to backup, because I know 10 versions from now, I'll probably "hate what they've done to the game."
