Yeah...I find myself more and more going back to sandbox-y type games. No quest/chr. decisions, no goals except what you set for yourself sandbox-play wise. I find that sort of gaming freedom relaxing. Actually I'm a little worried now that Pillars of Eternity will come out and I'll let it just sit on the "shelf" a long time before getting around to it ...

A while back I did end up buying one of those pedal-only thingies (where you can use it sitting in a chair or on a couch...). I was pretty doubtful about such, but it actually works really well, kind of like a recumbent bike position, and takes up hardly any space (important). It's not for intense workouts, haha, but it's been good for my arthritic knees, which were getting really bad a year ago. Was having a hard time going down stairs/downhill etc. and were often swollen to a point it was gimpy going to even walk across the living room at times. Anyway, I've been using for 30-60min. every other day and while at first it hurt like a mofo, over time it really helped - they don't flare up as often and I can go for walks again and downhill/stairs aren't quite so frightening. So I'm pretty happy about that. I won't ever be doing any high-impact/stress stuff again probably, but for the moment it'll do. This year I'm hoping to increase length/time of hiking and maybe, if I'm lucky, get back on a real bicycle again this summer.

It's a game forum, so, hey. ...my cousins were always into things like knitting and crochet. Not my thing. I stick to games, cats, and TV. Or just sitting in front of a roaring real-wood fire, when I had a fireplace that wasn't covered by a giant TV. Used to read a lot, but I find that less enjoyable as I either need reading glasses when I have contact lenses in or need bifocals when I have glasses on (I can read if neither glasses or contacts are on, but then I can't see distance...).

Houston, I think we have a problem. (swung a pickaxe, fell through the world, kept dropping and dropping in freefall. Had to use a fly-cheat to get back up, heh) So that's what my mine currently looks like. Fascinating.

That's hilarious. And good for him. *looks up series* ...wait a minute. A "fairy tale-themed musical comedy?" Is he going to sing? This could either be fantastic or a complete mess. Funny guest star cast. I may have to check it out, if only to snicker.

Fishing in the toilet? I hope anyone doing that is doing catch n release, cause you sure don't want to be eating anything from there.

This morning, for some reason, I've been idly wondering how some superheros ("superhuman" powered) stay so mega-muscularly buff all the time. I mean, they don't seem governed by the same laws of physics as us normal folk, so what is building up all that visible muscle? 800-ton barbells? Is flying or running at sonic speeds with seemingly zero effort and not even a slight sweat a good workout?

Finally got around to watching the last pre-holiday episode of Supernatural...the one bout Castiel and Novak's kid. It was ok. I like Cas better when he's not being all guilt-ridden and angsty. Avenging angel mode is also a bit hotter. Was the Dean-ending supposed to be cliffhangerish, because it didn't leave me in any suspense. I think we all saw that coming. But I can't wait for Cain to show up again. You know he's going to.

Not being able to fight an Alien in an Alien game seems a bit ... odd. I mean, you don't want to over do it (unless you're going for the over the top action of Aliens), but...not to mention, I don't recall the Alien being very easily frightened off, once it decided to attack.

Zombie apocalypse...pshaw, who cares. I got movies and pie.

The website works fine for me at the moment, at least. Decided against Alien game. Maybe when it's $10.

@Woldan - I keep staring at your avatar. Is that based on the fable whereby a helpful frog is stung to death by a scorpion?

To Be Takei. I'm not sure what I expected, but it was a pretty fun/interesting and occasionally touching bio documentary. He sure does laugh a lot.

Cat: "Roast beef! Roast beef!" (it's actually a bunch of meow's and paw-pats, I'm translating) Me: "Here." (hand-feeds a few bits) Cat: "Roast beef! Roast beef!" Me: (put more pieces on a paper towel, set on floor) Cat: (eyes paper towel dubiously, eats just a couple pieces, stares some more, then...) "Roast beef! Roast beef!" Me: (pointing) "Right there." (cat goes on staring/begging, watching my hands) (I finally give in, hand feed him) ...PaperTowelIsScary phobia? The roast beef was excellent, tho.

Bruce Campbell tweeted it, so it must be so. And at the end of 2015, if I didn't like even one of them, I will take Bruce to task. 2015 must see horror films. http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/371935-2015-horror-films-must-see/

Not a report of watching, but ... if these two were in a show together, I would fan squeal. Yes I would.

Grumpycat wannabe?

The commute problem in US (metropolitan US anyway, West especially imo) is that most of our public transportation access sucks balls - always has, and it definitely can't keep up with city/area population flooding and ever increasing commute distances as housing is built and purchased farther and farther away from main work areas. That said ... I wouldn't personally want automated individual cars. I'm too much of a control freak when it comes to driving and I'm not sure I'd trust such a thing - more importantly, I'm not sure I'd trust what humans would be like/do if that became some kind of norm. Maybe nothing...maybe everything. Who can tell....

Alien:Isolation - worth it (for $25)? Not all that into pulse-pounding/horror gaming these days but if it's an Alien game that finally feels like Alien/s...

Tossed roast in the oven, watching the Rose Parade on HGTV. Scott and Drew make funny hosts, better than network hosts. Love Boat float, omg. Not that I'm into parades much...just something to do while waking up.

For 25 years my friend and I would stock up on munchies etc. and spend this evening together, watching horror movies (good or bad), sometimes drinking, sometimes not. Nothing wild, just hanging out, talking about the past year, poking fun at the films and avoiding the craziness "out there." She's not here anymore and that's a really big hole for me. So I'm going to curl up with one of our old cheesy faves and drink a toast to her memory then snuggle the spouse until I sleep. Happy New Year, everyone...hope it's a good one.

Getting a little bored of building mega-treehouses or bunkers and watching zombies mill around dying on my log spikes, at least for the moment. What to do now....maybe I'll go back to that game called real life for a bit. I've looked at that one a few times. Haven't taken the plunge.

I'm not sure I'd call myself an adult per se, but I am a homebody who doesn't like to "party" out in public. Usually because I'd wake up in someone's living room with barely any memory of the night before. it didn't take long for me to not find that very fun anymore. Occasionally getting trashed in my own living room...that's different. Still rare, but ...

Already saw Divergent. I did like it a fair bit better than The Hunger Games, but didn't consider it anything special. Still...there's so many of these now that I often hit the "rent" button in spite of myself. Sometimes they have good action bits.
