South Park RPG
Blodhemn replied to vault_overseer's topic in South Park: The Stick of Truth: General Discussion
The game looks like it could work - I like how Matt n Trey are kind of coaching how the quests should be. Sometimes I think video game designers get stuck in the same old, same old mind frame when it comes to making quests. -

Aye, 1st world problems. "MAH FAVOURITE COMPANY IS MAKING A GAME BASED ON A LICENCE I DON'T LIKE I'M GONNA LEAVE THEIR FORUMS, I WILL, HONEST!!11" People only know the title and they are going pretty much berserk, this alone is funnier than most games released each year. Lol..we are spoiled beyond belief. In this day and age, people should be thankful a company like Obsidian even exists to entertain our brief little lives. Ah forget it... **** SOUTH PARK!! **** OBSIDIAN!! **** YOU!! -

It would be pretty funny if the engine used for this game blows all of the other Obsidian releases out of the water. -

They've written whole episodes defending the use of ethnic, homophobic, and sexist slurs. Their portrayal of sexualities besides "exclusive heterosexuality" is so bigoted that it's probably more heterosexist than something produced in the 1800s. ****. Them. -
Yeah well the game is very ambituous, so there's quality to it and a lot of people should find something good in it. On the first playthrough I definetly liked it more - all of the factions and how they reacted to your choices was pretty nice but on the 2nd playthough, there's just absolutely no faction I care to side with because there's just not enough character given to anything in the game - it's very expansive but also pretty sim-like. You have to use your imagination to connect the text to the open world and give it life but the text really isn't interesting enough to fill in the gaps for the most part. I feel like less time should've been spent on the many tiny things in the world and more time spent on the major elements that help with immersion, i.e. better writing and voice acting.

I've got to say that it's pretty hard to try to replay New Vegas a 2nd time. There's far too many tiny little things that just make doing quests ridiculously tedius on the 2nd playthrough, add that to the fact that there's nothing memorable about any of the games characters/plots/factions/quests/game world entirely. New Vegas is just a simulator romp through one ugly ass maze of a world. It's ambituous but they tried to do too much with this game. I've downloaded all the DC and am adding tons of old songs to the game radio in hopes to get some enjoyment out of it. The music is by far the only characteristic in the game that feels alive. The rest of the world is a dead sim.

Origin and BF3 has had a terrible launch. My bro, who built a new system to speicifically play BF3 can't even play the game for 2 minutes before it freezes - many people have similiar problems, with some the freezing just being in MP and others, SP and MP. Who plays BF for single player anyway? I'm not sure what it is exactly..possibly some memory leak. It's just ridiculous that so many day 1 releases are still in beta form.

I like the visual look, and the trailer itself had a nice feel. But eh, the gameplay seemed pretty unremarkable. Shooting, blowing up, gratuitous exploding heads and decapitations. Not the kind of things that have much interest for me without some context to add interest. The combat seems good enough to me - but I get what you're saying. I can't help but feel a sort of blandness and just overall non-engrossed gameplay forthcoming.l

The bugs didn't really bother me - the few quest bugs I ran into just made me shrug my shoulders a bit. I haven't even finished my first playthrough and recently started playing it again where I left off and the part that just made me disinterested in the game is there's so many factions to side with, but none of them made me care for them even the tiniest shred to want join up on their side. The default questline is the only one that holds any sort of interest simply due to the fact that more of the game's story revolves around that anyway and so there's just more of a chunk to follow.

lol really? The beginning to Borderlands sucks and I'm told it's only good as a multiplayer game. So, I doubt I'll play much of it.

Borderlands Fallout NV : Dead Money Fallout NV : Honest Hearts Hitman : BM Just Cause 2('cos Purkake goes nuts over it) Stalker : Call of Pripyat Stalker : Clear Sky Vampire : Bloodlines --Only one I think I'll regret is Borderlands.
-
Yeah - I haven't gotten passed the beginning of the OC yet - it's one of the few games I've played that actually feels like work.
-
Cool, I will. Thanks.

Looks like another game that's going to be put on the back burner for a while then as my Steam friends list contains a whopping "0" people. Yeah I'm pretty turned off at the amount of containers you're having to open up for money and ammo at the start of the game and the "missions" that are just tacked on one after another - just all generic gameplay really.

Started up Borderlands - this game is borderline crap. So far I feel ripped off at the $7.50 I payed for it. And I knew that little robot was going to piss me off from what I saw of it in the trailers. Does anyone really think that stuff is cute or funny? Dammmmn. Hopefully Just Cause 2 is good, cos now I just feel like destroying crap or maybe just continue another HL2 playthrough.

Cool, wearing my Borderlands bandana now.

Do people still play Borderlands or is it one of those one-and-done type games? I might grab that one.
-
I don't think that's possible because if so, it would've happened already. The bigger problem is all of the people out there who buy up his crap and then whine that they've been lied to afterwards. It happened after every Fable release and it's kind of hilarious.

Isn't there still boobs in the game otherwise? I'm pretty sure it'd be more than one quest. Ohh sex, boobs - so scary and corruptive to a 15 year old's mind. It's not like Australia doesn't have a huge alcohol and drug culture amongst youngsters...and furthermore I thought the views on sex was a bit more liberal there then here in the warped USA. I'm sure it's just a decision coming from a person or two that trickles down and affects everyone.

This. And in ~2 yrs when XP is DOA and no more patches, updates or support. Clearly someone who does not think long term and likes to live in the past. Technology moves ahead you either move with it or get left behind. Simple as that. As for UAC you people whining how horrible it is know in win7 you CAN ADJUST the sensitivity or simply TURN IT OFF right? Talk about making a mount from a mole hill... Adjusting UAC didn't do jack **** with what I was doing. Talk about not knowing what you are talking about...

Save yourself the trouble and keep XP forever. Win 7 adds a few nice features but overall I get more pissed at the permissions issue and also run into problems of not being able to delete folders because they're in use by windows explorer itself, and then randomly on some days the OS fails to load at all and have to run startup repair. It's better than Vista but XP is so much more user friendly and stable.

Yeah...PC used to be pushing the tech at every turn, and if your system weren't powerful enough, then you could tweak a multitude of settings and get it looking how you want with the best FPS.
-
Yeah..hardly any of the games push my system and I have the 8800gts 512. It almost feels like a waste. The games that don't run smoothly are usually the ****tier looking ones with bad programming. PC gaming just isn't what it used to be.

My saved games directory for TW1 was 12 GB I **** you not. After I suffered some early crashes I got into the habbit of quicksaving every other minute it seems. The only reason that I noticed the large save game folder was that I was trying to figure out why it took 4 minutes to load the game.

lemme pull a you.. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... No. R00FLZ LOLZ Witcher 2 is going to be good, btw.
