Well, I'm not at all familiar with the source material Heijo is referring to. But for my last 24 hours.... let's see... revenge on enemies, drunken romp with hookers... nah none of those things. I'd pack a lunch, a book and walk down Cold Creek to the Hatchee river and just fish, read, swim with the dogs and watch the river roll by. I've been married twice, traveled around the world and 30 states in the US and I've never been anywhere where I felt happier or more at peace than there. If my bones are ever found there then I'd want the folks who found them to know I died happy.

I love it when the Onion is taken as a real news source!

So they plan to select John Kasich if it's a brokered convention? I am not well versed in lawspeak, but from i gather it could be practically anyone, even those that have dropped out. Kasich would be their best bet if they wanted to win the general election. Although their unpleasable base would prefer Cruz at this point, with Marco Rubio being the Joke option. Rubio is out. For my $.02 I say "None of the Above". There is not a single person running for President right now I'd want to see win. In any party. Once the bowl flush is completed in November one of these turds will still be floating and they will do it by somehow being less repugnant than all the other choices. Hopefully 2020 will be better.

As far as gender equality goes my boss is a woman. And she is the smartest person in any room she happens to be in. She has a BA in Physics with a specialty in Fluid Mechanics and a MS in Engineering Management. I can tell you for a fact no one ever cut here a break for being female and her intellect and personality are such that no one with any sense will take her lightly for it. How people react to you, the opportunities you get, and what you make of them has a lot more to do with what you know, how you act, and how you present yourself than the color of your skin or which chromosome pair you ended up with.

I wouldn't mind having Di & Lady Crimson back. That would be two. If Gabrielle ever comes back that will be ten.

Hillary makes a bid for the votes of the conspiracy/tin foil hat crowd: http://dailycaller.com/2016/03/25/hillary-on-area-51-secrets-i-think-we-ought-to-share-it-with-the-public/

They are bad at politics because they are just not another political party or entity, it's because they are men on a mission. It is an odd situation. Most folks seek to use political power to means to achieve an end. But for the libertarians the end is the containment of the means. GD are you considering joining BLM? You should try it for 3 months, Um no. I am pretty sure they don't want me and I'm definitely sure I don't want them. I don't enjoy the company of racists who think people who don't look like them should be killed. Can I tell you something interesting, I am not familiar with BLM ...that video created a bad first impression but I am assuming not all members would act like that. If you could join I guarantee you will find they dont actually dislike white people, there view is based on the fact they think white people dont like them ...so its a reaction The experience will be a positive one, thats what happened to me in SA Res ipsa loquitur

Shady would have just shouted JOOR-ZAH-FRUL and brought him right down.

Yeah well if a dragon landed there they would be happy you had your sword then.

Not even close to being new. And it will never go away because there are more than a few politicians and pundits who depend on it. You misspelled "a lot of people feel the issue is relevant to and resonates with the reality of their daily lives" Unfortunately I believe too many of them only think that because they are told it is, not because their experiences show them it is. I don't know, if people were easy to influence, wouldn't you expect to see more libertarians around? (Not a dig against libertarians. More like... one would expect people to naturally gravitate towards what works best for them. You assume that being a libertarian is what results in the best quality of life for most people, therefore convincing people that being a libertarian is good for them should be easier than convincing them of being something else. Thus, if people were easy to convince, you'd expect them to convert to libertarianism in greater numbers and libertarians to retain more adherents than other philosophies.) Actually I totally get why libertarians are a rarity. Although I think it should be otherwise it isn't. A discussion for another time I guess. As far as identity politics goes it plays into one of humanity's baser instinct of "us vs. them". That's why it is so pervasive and people fall so easily into it. Besides, if I could wave a magic wand and make all racism and discrimination disappear the politicians and "leaders" who rely on it (both black, white, & Hispanic) would never acknowledge it was gone. They NEED it to exist and will foment it where it does not occur naturally. It is the source of their power and influence. Most of the folks who participate in the BLM movement have never been the recipient of police brutality or have ever been singled out by the police or anyone else in any way. As terrible and dramatic as these events are it becomes forgotten they are also exceedingly rare and severely punished when the do happen. That means for the most part the whole BLM movement becomes a solution in search of a problem.

Believe it or not that stuff is made in New Jersey

That's pretty arrogant coming from someone who never experienced the problem. I mean, neither did I, but I assume if the solution was that simple, people would do that. It is. Just that simple.

USA Today champions the cause of the american left. The american left champions the cause of the open door let-them-all-come policy. I can speculate why but you'd have to ask them to know for sure. It's beyond my understanding.

Cuba is as bad as it has ever been. But we deal with countries ever bit as bad everyday. China does not exactly treat it's political dissidents to milk and cookies and that never stops us from spending billions of dollars on them. Enough is enough already.

I was just speaking in general, not you specifically. Facebook is fraught with pansies weeping because someone said something mean about their posts. It's funny about the redneck comment. That was the exact vibe I got talking to that lawyer today until she came in the house and sat down in my office in the loft and saw what was doing there.
-
I agree with you on that completely, but that is hardly how most people are approaching this. You both hit the nail right on the head. USA Today had an editorial warning those in the US to not take this attack as a reason to stop allowing Muslim refugees from the ME into the country. They went on for about 600 words or so on how assimilating into the american "melting pot" will prevent radicalization etc. etc.... And they are right, it probably would. But refugees do not seem to be interested in doing that. Once the settle they form insular communities where they only associate and do business with their own. A nation within a nation as it were. The the old us vs. them festers. That is what happens in Europe, and it's happening right here particularly in cities like Minneapolis. You can bring them in but you can't make them assimilate. It does not necessarily mean they will start blowing up things when they don't but that IS where it begins.

Back on the topic of what we did today I met with my lawyer today. She came out to my house to go over some things. I had never met her before and didn't realize she would be smoking hot. But she literally bitched for 10 minutes on how far out in the sticks I lived and made a less than complimentary comment about my dogs. Suddenly she didn't seem so hot anymore.

True, but I'm of the opinion that crappy behavior works both ways. BVC is of the opinion that whoever he feels is oppressed is free to do the same things to others and its totally cool. I think you're being a little harsh on him. Its more I'm being misunderstood, my objectives to achieve social equality are not based on believing minority groups need to oppress groups that use to oppress them I dont believe in the Animal Farm outcome and never have Not quite the same. The animals on Animal Farm didn't oppress the humans. The oppressed the other animals to the point they became just like the humans. Which is pretty inevitable when one group obtains power over another history tells us. Personally on the topic you guys were discussing if reading the words of someone you don't really know or give a f--k about makes someone "feel bad" I'd suggest they drink a shot of whiskey and man the f--k up. Words don't cause injury.* *(Except in cases of libel or slander. just don't tell lies ok?)

Rays vs Cuba tomorrow at 13:30 EDT. I'm calling in sick just to watch it. Ok, I was calling in sick anyway but it does work out.
