  1. No GD....now thats going too far .....she is NOTHING like Trump She doesn't intentionally insult people and feel the need to keep telling people how great she is....its actually almost an insult to compare her to Trump I'm not talking about her personality.
  2. Hillary Clinton is the perfect marriage of Trump & Rubio. She is just like Rubio on foreign policy (especially if you count immigration as "foreign" policy). She is just like Trump on domestic and political philosophy (except immigration, see above). Like Trump her presidency would be autocratic, respecting no limits on executive power. She will spend and spend, maybe not quite as prodigiously as Obama has but still bad. Welfare at home warfare abroad. Like Rubio her foreign policy will be interventionist and probably heavy handed. The only way she would differ from Trump is she is all for TPP. Well sometimes. Depends on when you ask her and what she thinks the ones asking the questions want to hear: http://www.state.gov/secretary/20092013clinton/rm/2012/11/200565.htm or http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2015/oct/08/hillary-clinton/hillary-clinton-now-opposes-trans-pacific-partners/
  3. I remember loving that game until they changed the game mechanics that punished any pitcher that wasn't a strikeout pitcher or who walked a decent amount. Pitchers like Tom Glavine or Bob Tewksbury got rocked every time I imported their seasons, even though in real life they had Cy Young caliber years. It's come a long way over the years. The thing about historical games is the ratings for a player are based on their past but beginning on the day the game begins the AI determines their future. It has nothing to do with a straight historical re-enactment. I was playing the 1932 St. Louis Cardinals and Dazzy Vance tore his UCL and needed Tommy John surgery. The problems with that are Dazzy Vance was in Brooklyn by then, never tore his UCL, and even if he did he'd be through because the first Tommy John surgery wasn't done until 1974. It's not really for straight re-enactment because things will happen that never happened. But I still like the management aspects of it.
  4. The Twins ponied up $24M to buy this guy from the Korean League. KBO players don't do well in the MLB as a rule. But this dude might be the exception: http://m.mlb.com/news/article/166391166/byung-ho-park-delivers-grand-slam-in-twins-win
  5. A little OT I know but f--k it. I HAD to post this somewhere. I never knew this was a thing but by God I'm going to call it where I see it from now on! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law
  6. Every campaign must make a cost/benefit analysis if where it spends it's money. The Democrats don't bother campaigning in Wyoming or Kansas because their BS won't sell there. The same is true for the Repubs in California. Hurlshot is right in that the right candidate could make it interesting but it would take the Dems running the "wrong" candidate to make it a reality.
  7. Out Of The Park Baseball 17 comes out on the 22nd. I've had every version since 8. Love it. This is a nice article about the biggest of the new features: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/games/a-hundred-thousand-ghosts-from-baseballs-golden-age-come-to-video-games/ar-BBqpoEm?li=BBnbfcL
  8. I spent the whole day fishing (and napping) on the banks of the Hatchee River yesterday with the dogs. When we were walking back I found a magnolia tree just starting to bloom. There were thousands, maybe ten of thousands of honey bees working it over. I stood under that tree for a good half hour just listening to them. It was really cool. Like I've said before, no matter where you are there is something remarkable to see somewhere around you. You just have to look for it.
  9. Elerond is correct. California is not competitive. If it were ever to be put in play it would get a whole lot of attention. It's a red state through and through once you get beyond I-5 corridor (except Sacramento). But all the people are in the I-5 corridor.
  10. Ben Carson is officially out now. He is an altogether descent and intelligent man. He just does not have the charisma and political savvy to be President right now. Good luck to him and I'm sure we haven't heard the last from him. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/03/ben-carson-announces-campaign-is-suspended-220281
  11. Tomorrow morning I'm getting up early, packing coffee, lunch for both me and the dogs, and my fishing gear and we're going to follow Cold Creek to the Hatchee River and do some fishing. All day. I can't wait.
  12. I'm having a real hard time dealing with the fact that the next President of the US will be Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, or Donald Trump. This is it? This is the best a country of 318 Million could produce? We are f----d. No seriously, we are so f----d. This would be a time to be grateful for the separation of powers but three of those five don't seem to believe that is a real thing. And the current president surely does not because he has spent the last 7 years undermining it with the complitcy of the goddamned democrats in Congress.
  13. Hurlshot you mustn't insult SJW....they not all weirdos. Think of all the the good the SJ movement has done for the world For instance they have taken Orwell's fictional concept of thoughtcrime and have almost turned it into a real thing.
  14. As ugly as that debate was I'd like to point out that no one on that stage last night was under investigation by the FBI. Or likely to be indicted soon.
  15. Did the Career Jammer give you the works to try to keep you in?
  16. I believe you hit the nail on the head here. The only hope they have of putting Trump down now is a brokered convention. What a mess.
  17. Of course admiring someone does not mean you agree with every dumbs--t stupid thing they ever said. But I'm sure you can see the double standard here. If Hillary had an R after her name this would have been the lead story in every newspaper. They excoriated Trump for not even knowing who David Duke was.
  18. You know, in my head I'm still a young buck but then you get reminded how much time has passed. Getting old is the worst. I was brushing my teeth the other day and took a good look and my face in the mirror. I look just like my father did now. How the heck the that happen? But if I'm having a mid-life crisis of some kind I'll just drown it in good bourbon. That does not solve any problems true. But it does offer a respite.
  19. I concerns me that all of the "not Trump" candidates agree Donald winning would not be a good thing. Yet none of them are willing to step back and consolidate their support behind just one "not trump" candidate. It worries me when someone wants power so badly they'll burn down the world as long as they can be king of the ashes. (Yes I stole that line, but it was a good one!)
  20. I usually make a division by division prediction post but nuts to that. I'm always wrong and I think I've been the one jinxing the Nat's by picking them to win it all. I've got nothing against them. So, here is my take: NL East: Mets NL Central Cubs NL West: Giants NL WC: Cardianals NL WC: Marlins AL East: Blue Jays AL Central: Royals AL West: Astros AL WC: Rangers AL WC: Rays World Series: Giants defeat Astros in 6
  21. At least Trump doesn't support TPP. That alone makes him better than Romney. Agreed
  22. Boot camp, MCT & SOI all at Pendleton. I bet you were SICK of that place! At least we got a change of scenery.
  23. There are a lot of things about my career I wish I'd done differently but going in the Corps isn't on of them. Getting out isn't either actually. I was inclined to stay in because I'd just made Corporal three months before the end and the cutting scores for Sergeant were pretty low. But I had to pick a new MOS and I just didn't like any of the options.
  24. Sounds about right!
