Well, I don't know what more they could have done. You can't arrest someone for doing nothing... yet. With a Trump or Clinton admin in our future let's hope it stays that way.

Canada changes it's national anthem: http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Global-News/2016/0616/Why-Canada-is-changing-its-national-anthem My take? It goes something like this: F-----g whatever. No. You know what? F--k that! It's just a f-----g song. And a good one at that. It's been fine for over a hundred and eight years. Nobody ever thought the use of the words "sons" was meant to exclude anyone. For God's sweet f-----g sake can we not just have one mother f-----g thing the whimpering PC crowd won't stick it grubby fingers into and completely f--k up? Just my $.02 -
I've said before the only "crime" Hillary might be guilty of is gross stupidity and negligence. Certainly not qualities desirable in a President. But I'll agree with Mes, if the DOJ was handed rock solid evidence of criminal action there is not doubt in my mind they would either 1) Ignore it if possible, 2) Undermine it internally if it can't be ignored or 3) Coordinate with the Clinton team and blame the whole thing on a "scapegoat" like Huma Abedin. Then after she is indicted they'd likely "suicide" her if she is not willing to be a team player and go to prison. All this may sound a little like a stretch but this is the Clintons were talking about here. They are not paragons of honesty so these are possible scenarios.

Johnson & Weld are getting a shot at primetime in CNN Townhall next week. I'll be watching: http://reason.com/blog/2016/06/15/johnson-weld-to-get-cnn-town-hall-treatm

Well to be honest in all the cities I worked in the only one I felt ill at ease in was Nuevo Laredo. We actually had police escorting us everywhere.
-
Well he didn't break an actual record by doing this. But I wouldn't speak ill of the NPB too much. It is a major league comparable to MLB especially considering the other pro leagues in the world. It's definitely a pitchers league though. OPS & ISO are well below MLB averages but their ballparks tend to be bigger too.

Well, I for one think it is due in large part to the public wi-fi availability, particularly in Hermsasillo at Universidad de Sonora, and in Durango, Nuevo Laredo, & Satillo. Those systems were well designed and flawlessly installed and under budget I might add. Just sayin'

In case anyone was wondering why Donald Trump is constantly bashing the media and why so many Americans don't trust the media take a look at this: http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/15/opinion/the-corrosive-politics-that-threaten-lgbt-americans.html Really? Mateen, a gay Muslim democrat, called the local TV station as he is shooting up a gay nightclub he has been to many times an tells them he is doing it for ISIS. Despite this the New York Times not only refuses to accept the killers own professed motivations they actually find a way to blame the whole thing on Republicans who don't actually figure into this story in any way. If Bruce Jenner wears a dress and calls himself a woman (despite the obvious anatomical inconsistencies that haven't been addressed yet) then as far as the NY Times is concerned he's a woman. But if a gay, Muslim, democrat murders 49 people and says he's doing it for ISIS it's really the Republican's fault. Credibility < 0

I think Obama is basically a good guy at heart. He loves his family, is nice to his dog, probably treats his friends well and is at least respectful of people he doesn't like. That makes him a decent person, it does not make him a good President. He believes the government should be the driving force in the country, and play a key role in the lives of it's citizens. He does not believe in individual liberty or autonomy, or freedom to make choices he disapproves of. He envisions a world where the citizens exist to serve the state rather then a state that serves it's citizens. Oh he expects that state to be benevolent make no mistake but he also insists that it have absolute power. That is why he has been more contemptuous and critical of the US Constitution than any President since Woodrow Wilson. I think Daniel Webster said it best: "Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that our Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There have been men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to BE masters." I agree with the Hillary analysis 100%

Nice analogy. I wouldn't want any of them. I want a President that was more like a park ranger and the US is a huge wonderful national park. The ranger gives you a short list of the things you can't do and a long list of the opportunities available and tells everyone to go and enjoy themselves. The ranger and park staff makes sure the roads are clear, the borders of the park are secure, the bathrooms are working, and the trash gets picked and just leaves everyone alone. That would be ideal.

Ichiro tied passed Pete Rose for career hits today. Yeah, not the same thing because he got 1278 of them in the NPB. But... at the end of the day Ichiro will be in two Halls of Fame. Which is two more than Rose.

Are you asking me or Namutree?

Cersei is vain, paranoid, and not nearly as bright as she thinks. The only thing that saved her was she never had the power to ruin herself. Once Tywin died, she did. And she did.

That's really not good news. We REALLY need to prevent Hillary from being president. She's actually worse than Obama. This is the last thing we need. I look at Trump & Clinton and see two different varieties of awful. They are as different as night and day on a lot of issues. Some, like the judiciary where I favor Trump, are near and dear to my heart. But the problems are what they have in common. Neither respects the limits of the office of the President. Both are promising to do things a President CAN NOT DO. Once upon a time I'd dismiss that as empty campaign talk. But Barack Obama has changed all that. He has used executive power in ways that should terrify even the most hardcore government loving, freedom hating leftist. And he has been allowed to get away with it. Can you think of even one power usurped by the government that they ever relinquished? So now because of the damage that Barack Obama has done to the separation of powers and two candidates promising more of the same but in different ways what is the principled choice? Vote for the one you hate the least? Vote for the one you hope will hurt you least? I couldn't even say for certain which of those two that would be. I've been voting since 1988 and in every presidential election save one I cast my vote for someone I had no respect for to foil someone who scared the crap out of me. Well, I'm done with that. And I'm done with that for good. The Republican party has done nothing... and I do mean NOTHING to earn either of our votes. There is barely any substantive difference between the two now. The both love government and power and want to wield it with no limits and no respect for the very thing that made this country what it is... or at least what it used to be.

Autozone Park is a great place to watch a game. I haven't been to one yet this year. When the next "Bark at the Park" night comes up I think I'll take Tommy & Sunny to a game.

Here is some good news for a change. Gary Johnson is hitting as high as 12% in some polls. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_clinton_vs_johnson-5949.html

In the book Pycell and Kevan were assassinated because they were stabilizing the government and repair the alliance with the Tyrells. That had to be stopped to prevent them from presenting a unified defense against Connington & Aegon. In the show there is no Aegon and no Connington and the government is already an unstable mess and show Kevan appears to be just a yes man who frowns a lot. Nothing at all like book Kevan. They might still kill them off but there does not seem to be any imperative to do so.

I love this headline: "Self learning robot escapes testing area" Well, it's true, that did actually happen. But the truth is less exciting than the image it conjures. I read that and heard music from The Terminator in my head and thought "It begins... at last!" Well... not so much: https://www.rt.com/viral/346747-russian-robot-runaway-havoc/ -
Been a long time since the Navy had to repel boarders!

I always suspected in the books we've seen the last of Rickon. GRRM sent a message with the name of his direwolf. The show might still make use of him though. I agree on Stannis though, I found him to be an interesting character both on the screen and on the page.

IMO full auto is a bad idea in a hand held weapon. It is effective with a heavy weapon that is bipod, tripod, or vehicle stabilized. But hand held it is wasteful and inaccurate. I don't know about the M4 which is the standard infantry weapon in use in the US today. When I was in it was the M-16A2 and it did not use full auto. You could change it between semi-auto and 3 round burst. I suspect my brothers here on this board who have served in the US military will agree firing the M249 SAW from the offhand and trying to hit something specific is VERY hard to do.
