KotoR 3: Ideas and Suggestions
random evil guy replied to Fionavar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
so when is kotor 3 out? -
the lag is terrible and i haven't got anything running in the background. adjusting the settings doesn't help either..
-
It's honestly not that bad. There is like half a second between pressing the button and the unit moving. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ...more like a sec and it is annying as hell! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You seem to be getting more lag that I am, but if it really is that much... I noticed that movement was sluggish although it didn't bother me enough to get me to stop. The game is still very playable although I'm a little more forgiving with Turn based games that have lag issues as it doesn't matter as much. Are you getting lag at any other times or is it just the unit acknowledgement time? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the menus and such are all fine, but as soon as i start playing the game, everything slows down. menus, unit movement, etc. really, really need a patch...

Ooh, that sounds worryingly similar to my computer. How is it possible that I can play Fable and Vampire: The Masquerade fine, and have trouble with a turned-based strategy. I hope this is a temporary problem. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> exactly. games like doom3, age of empires 3, act of war etc all play just fine. in fact, better than fine. it looks like a lot of people with processors and geforce graphics card are having 'lag issues'... a lot of complaints over at civfanatcs and apolyton...
-
won't play it. i don't accept half assed buggy games. especially the ones that suffer from severe 'lag issues'. guess i'll return it tomorrow...
-
god damn it. finally got it, loaded perfectly and everything was good to go. however, the lag is truly unbelievable. i have a amd2800, 1024mb RAM and a geforce fx5700 graphic card, so the requirements shouldn't be a problem. everything is just so damn slow. it takes about 1,5 sec for a unit to respond to my commands. adjusting the settings doesn't help either. tried updating drivers and such, but to no avail. BUHU!!!!!!! now i have to wait for a patch or something like that...

opera is great. at least 50 times better than IE. never tried firefox or mozilla though...

i like norway because we have oil and, frankly, too much money...

It should still make some sort of logical sense though. You would have to really apply the imagination to rationalise knights taking out a helicopter (well unless you were playing TORN ) It isnt ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, I don't think it takes that much imagination. Helicopter crashes due to pilot error. Helicopter crashes due to bad weather. Badly damaged helicopter suffers mechanical malfunction and crashes. And I certainly don't remember anywhere where anyone officially associated with the Civ games has said all the units are assumed to be combat ready. Source? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> but aren't one unit supposed to represent several individual units? a bataljon, division or whatever... i doubt that all of the helicopters would crash. i'd accept it if the knight AND helicopter could survive the battle, but there is no way a knight 'unit' could beat a helicopter 'unit'...
-
heard it is released oct 25th; is that true? btw, will the new 'unit' system be a success or a total failure?
-
like all sports games, very repetitive... at least imo.
-
not as many as fifa, but more than pes4. <_< i'll probably download a patch or something to fix it. got me that swap magic cd thingy and a slide card yesterday. :D

can't wait for kotor3 to be announced some day. i remember the good old days here with all the speculation and tidbits of info from the developers. good times, good times! -
I think the funniest comedies in the history of moviemaking bar-none has got to be the Naked Gun Series. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> nope. hot shots I and II are the best.
-
I never wathed the sequel or the prequel. I've always suspected that the other films would ruin the first for me. After all, the first film was more about the psychology of people placed under extreme stress than about the cube itself, and what can you say about that in a sequel that hasn't been said already? On the other hand, when they make Cube3: Timecube, I'll be first in the line for tickets. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> cube is sh*te. terrible, terrible acting and a boring plot. no, i recommend 'all the president's men'. woodward and bernstein uncovering the watergate scandal. brilliant movie! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074119/

'Intelligent design' debate back in court

because ID is not a scientific theory. should you teach crap just for the sake of it? should science teach that the earth is flat as well; i mean just so that the students can make up their own mind...? how about teaching the moon is actually the world's larget cheese wheel... -

there really is no point in telling you to stop. you've already made a complete a** of yourself. here is a clue: apes and man evolved from a common ancestor which is now extinct. -
'Intelligent design' debate back in court

There is no proof that the Universe appeared out of nothingness on it's own, and that life just happened to have the perfect circumstances so that primordial soup sloshed together basic acids to form the first proteins, and from this pond scum humans developed either. Intelligent Design isn't so specific as to give creedence to a specific religion, but rather suggests that the Universe as we know it was created by something intelligent. Honestly, I think it makes more logical sense than most theories I've heard. There is more scientific evidence these days against the Big Bang than for it. And while I firmly believe that evolution occurs, I'm skeptical of pond scum becomming human, especially when some of the basic tenents of evolution argue against it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> completely irrelevant. the big bang has nothing to do with evolution... -
second that. nationalism is irrational and pointless. why should i even care about my own country? sure, i can relate to the community where i live and grew up in, but country? please... an abstract and coincidental structure; i couldn't care less...
