KOTOR III Tidbits !!!????
No - and it was inevitable someone would try to do something like this. Next thing he'll probably say that he forget to mention it was only after the fifteenth play-through. (and yes, I've waited through the credits)

Do you want KOTOR 3 to become one of the first FPS
That wouldn't make it an FPS RPG, which seems to be what people, by and large, are complaining about.

KotOR 2 reviews
That the reviewers don't even play the games they're supposed to be playing is a sad state of affairs, indeed. Aren't they supposed to be how consumers eventually come to a decision on buying certain products? Also, it seems like some problem unrelated to programming is causing all these glitches, and it sounds pretty serious - bad discs, perhaps, or maybe they loaded a bunch of processes that seem to be overloading the X-box. It's already been confirmed by Akari, at least, that the FPS problems aren't graphics-engine related as much as they are process related. Most of these problems I haven't ever experienced, and I can imagine that I've played the game just as much as - if not more than - any of the reviewers talking. A few things are fixed, actually - I have, not once, had the idiotic AI trip a mine as it went to disarm that very same one. This happened over and over again in the first game. Also, Mines can actually be lethal in this game, but that's a side issue. I've had a couple of hard freezes, and after playing for quite a while, I had about three in a row. Not since then, though. I think I slipped through a door once, accidentally, when I was trying to open it - it opened behind me, so it wasn't a biggie. I don't feel like they left the graphics alone - what an arrogant butt of a man. Halo 2 wasn't all that much of an improvement as it was made out to be, and it took FOUR YEARS to make. I liked the gameplay a lot better. As late as the last planet, I was getting hit for 102 damage at a time occasionally, and with certain special ranged feats, a ranged character can really chop through Sith apprentices and the like. I've been having a lot of fun with my blaster Jedi, although she's not my main jedi. The turret mini-games I actually have fun doing, and you can skip through out-of-engine cinematics this time around. I never had a problem with excessive amounts of medpacs or the like - through to the end of the game, the number of med pacs in my inventory never went over 30. In fact, it usually stayed below twenty. What also shook up gameplay a bit was that you would sometimes take control of your other party members. The complaints I've seen were because people didn't like having to play someone other than their main uber-jedi character, which is fine - and if you don't like the idea, (it does add quite a bit of difficulty, by the way, even customizing the level ups like so) you won't like that aspect of the game, but there's nothing inherently bad about it. I would've liked a more solid approach to some of these encounters, though, because a couple of them felt unimportant, even if they were enjoyable. The game really does make you re-think your alignment, but I would've liked more of that. The whole, "The Jedi's teachings are FLAWED" bit got pretty old and preachy after a while, and it would've been nice if they did more questioning than stating in this respect.

Who Do You Think Should Make KOTOR III?
I totally disagree that this hasn't left it open-ended at all. It's far more open-ended, actually - who is the new threat? What is their true nature? There are no pre-sets, except that they're dangerous. Fan expectations ruined them, I think, and made them stray from focusing on the things that would actually make people like the game. Still, it wouldn't have been bad if LA had given them more time - and it really is an excuse, if they could've done better with more time and LA would absolutely not allow it. However, Obsidian did make the game... if that's what you're trying to argue about accountibility, then fine, but I haven't seen a single person say anything in disagreement with that.

which character do you like best for love quests??
They said that they had read some where, so it's even less lkely to be true. Still, if it is...

So I guess I gotta know...Revan?
As Mr. Ulicus already told us... (and more about cameos, as well)

Do you want KOTOR 3 to become one of the first FPS
I was thinking a first-person travelling and conversation mode would be a good improvement. Keep the letterboxing when you talk, just make it first person. Watching your stupid PC's face look blank and never say anything wasn't terribly interesting, most of the time. Also, there were plenty of times I just liked the touch of looking around in first person for a while, but it was too bad I couldn't move while doing it.

which character do you like best for love quests??
Atris struck me as weighted down, but fairly young. I was thinking that she was maybe 3-5 years older than your PC, and I was thinking early thirties for him. And then, of course, if Revan was in his late twenties/early thirties, that makes the relationship with Bastila a little bit weird. I was thinking that Revan's "re-birth" sort of made him younger, mentally and maybe a little bit in terms of body-age.

The Storyline
I'm not sure what I need to relax about, because I was simply stating that something about what you had put down (very helpfully, I might add - didn't I say that in the first place?) didn't look right to me. I wasn't telling you that you should jump off a bridge for trying to do something nice, only that I saw something that looked like a fairly obvious mistake in a post that was trying to inform - not mis-inform - people. And while there isn't any point in me continuing to argue, because the opposing perspective has been stated, if you meant by, "cooling it" that I should not even have said anything in the first place... then no, I won't cool it, because you aren't my mom. At least, I don't think so... Would you prefer that I took this discussion about who was really controlling the HK-50 droids to another thread? Thank you.

Wired says KOTOR 2 sucks
His saying the problems of the prequels are even vaguely similar to the problems with TSL is totally nut-ball. The prequels might've been good, if the, "lengthy exposition" actually had anything happening in it. Indee, he complains that there's too much happening in this game. What I don't understand, and why I've grown to hate reviewers, is why he can't say that he doesn't care for the fast pacing of events in the sequel? Oh well. Actually, except for that last comment, I thought this was a great review.

Designer Ramblings: Beyond Kotor 2
It's not lacking as an RPG. It has PLENTY of options to create your character, and make them grow. In terms of strategy and gameplay, it is lacking - but an RPG doesn't necessarily have those things, as we see with Diablo.

Was Coorta trying to sell you dead, then, instead of alive? Sion did not have a change of heart. He hated his master for preferring you; as soon as she seemingly stopped preferring you, he was accepting of her.... but NOT of you.

Kreia
Ok, then... maybe she's a Rakatan

Do you mind if the devs had more time?
Except in this case, the developer was using the Star Wars license. But yeah, I guess they could've just said, "screw you, Lucas Arts," and been fired... and not get any pay until NWN 2. If Atari didn't decide to pull the project because of "unreliability" on the part of Obsidian.

Random Loot System....
Anyone find Jolee Bindo gear yet? Heh...

Designer Ramblings: Beyond Kotor 2
Good. At least you're a minority. Oh, and I said A GOOD game; not Diablo 3.
-
Should a KOTOR 2 : TSL The devolopers cut
Of course, LA will never listen to this idea, because it might actually be good for them and for Obsidian.

A Plea to Lucasarts/Obsidian
I can't say what the problem is for other people, and I don't really have a problem myself; but people are missing the heart of the problem, I think. They just keep arguing and throwing their hot-headed opinions everywhere. Maybe people will never understand what the problem is. Eh, I guess that's why I've taken such a personal interest in this...

Kreia
She's quite human. She had her face... damaged, though. A complicated past, and a betrayal by a certain apprentice of hers.

Designer Ramblings: Beyond Kotor 2
I don't care if they completely piss on the d20 rules, as long as they make a good game.
-
To those saying they are dissapointed with KoToR2
While Kreia's the villain... the funny thing is, she's not evil, and she genuinely cares for all life, but most especially your character. In her own sick way, she's trying to save the galaxy. Perhaps you have a different interpretation, though, and that's fine...

Any chance of finding the "real" Batu?
Maybe he doesn't want to waste his time with a broken quest. That's what this forum is for, anyway, thanks.... Mr Oh-So-Very-Helpful.

Do you mind if the devs had more time?
Yeah, but... where did you get January?? (it says 2/05 on the site still, by the way..)

The pink side has taken over Let's get this back on topic.
