I know people who couldn't do some of the puzzles in K1 because they didn't know things like logarithms, exponentials and stuff. But I'm a Uni student so it would've been a bit embarassing if I couldn't remember them.

Whats the official "Revan" head?
dufflover replied to Master Horn's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
If there was going to be a movie (I haven't heard any the rumors but anyway) they would probably choose the Male Revan because the Revan/Bastila romance has more story substance than the Carth romance. -
I'm not too disappointed that the above stuff was cut from K1. It did look good, but I probably would've gotten bored looking for another Star Map. Those Sleyheron shots look like a Tattooine style Onderon...sorta. Yavin station was a nice non-Star Map level and the related quest, even though it had nothing to do with the entire game was one of the best - strange isn't it? ... good ol' Suvam, the king of Pazaak.

Whats the official "Revan" head?
dufflover replied to Master Horn's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
that's just wallpaper, which I consider to be part of the pre-game material, which also implies that Atris is the LS Master, Nihilus is the DS Master, and in some situtations implies that they are the same people but path dependant. I wouldn't consider it anything official. I don't think Revan has one either, and I wouldn't want one or else it opens the door to an assumed Revan. -
I don't understand you. Probably because I'm feeling tired now. Use the Tech Support forum and post your computer specs.

I thought of this after all a lot of stuff from the K3 after K2 thread in General Discussion. There are a lot of similarities between the start of the game of K1 and K2 when your player wakes up and I know people think it's practically the same; you as a gamer have your player wake up and you not knowing much at all. But I think there is a big-ish difference between the two starts. In K1, you choose your class and all that and you know there is a Sith/Jedi/Republic war, and when you start playing on the Endire Spire and Taris, you (gamer view) don't notice anything out of the ordinary or missing because you are being the character you picked. In short, you know who you are, and with all games, you can't cover the player's full history. In K2, the start matches the description of amnesic Jedi and can't remember much before, but then the game persists with the Mandalarion war stuff and many times it doesn't have the "I don't remember going to war" type answer, like when you first talk to Atris. And so throughout the game, you cop all these Mandalorian war questions which you can't effectively answer because you don't know, where as in K1, you only get those questionss are you find out you're Revan, but by that stage, you have sculptured the a new character and the game characters recognise that. I guess the main point here is that in both startings, you don't know your history, yet there is no problem when you're playing K1.

Is it just me or has this shifted the whole topic shifted a bit? Bringing it back a bit - it looks like K3 is doomed into a rather complex story situtation. Would it make a difference who develops it?

I'm starting think that LucasArts only decided to make a trilogy after the success of K1. Now that in itself is not bad, but I reckon they botched it when it came to what to base the trilogy on. Also, I'd probably regret this if it happened later, but just looking at all the ideas and restrictions on the story, I would want a K3, where Revan's story (whatever that may be) is clearly complete - now it can be him dying, or just "retiring" back to normal space ( yay! Bastila... or Carth). I won't even care that much if they do a Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy else so you can play a balanced character. Finish with K3 and make the next KotOR completely unrelated.

Why is the ending disliked???
dufflover replied to Weaponmaster303's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I know this is a long shot, but maybe they forgot to take that movie out (the LS one where the hawk rescues you). Maybe they didn't have enough time to cut all the content out! -
The Reason why Kriea didn't kill the exile
dufflover replied to mrchallenge's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You persist so much with that gameplay sentence. Just because there's a force bond feat doesn't mean it's really a force bond. There are a few of ways to see this; 1. The player is the Exile, and so from your point of view, it is a force bond feat, thus the interface reflects what you are (yeh, this kinda doesn't make sense ) 2. The Force Bond is like, uhhh...Internet Connection Sharing , data goes both ways but one guy is the controller. Basically Kreia has made a force bond with you but can take it off (maybe she just senses your active power and leeches off it) 3. Sorta related to #1. It would ruin the game if it didn't lie. Like if gameplay never lied then Kreia really shouldn't be gray, neither should Jolee, and your name from the very start in K1 should say Revan or else the gameplay would be lying. -
Why is the ending disliked???
dufflover replied to Weaponmaster303's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
They bettter not try to make a revelation of the Ebon Hawk - "omg, it was built by the Star Forge!". Well where did the Millenium Falcon come from? (heh, it's probably in those gay EU books somewhere) Point is I wouldn't think much of it - it's just a legendary ships everyone seems to want. -
Think about Pazaak: "Net loss xx credits" or packaging: "Net weight xx grams" I'm assuming you all about gaining LS/DS pointe right? Well in your conversation you've chosen LS and DS options and because of that, you would've gained LS points and DS points. So if you get Net LS shift, it means you've gained more LS points than DS points, so overall, you have gained LS points. Similar for dark side. It's not in the info booklet because this is a matter of knowing what "net" is. I see you've also fallen victim to that double post error bug thingy

Oh no, I think I'm turning into Topaz Quasar Seeing Nar Shaddaa again after first seeing it JK was cool, but (I guess due to the RPG "non-vertical" nature, I don't think it looked as good as the NS levels in JK or JKO - too many wide level "streets" I think.

How about a new ship in KOTOR 3
dufflover replied to mrchallenge's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Having the Ebon Hawk would just be boring. Unless you're playing the Exile and piloting the Hawk solo into the unknown regions (as I think the LS ending implies), it should be replaced as the main vehicle. -
Why is the ending disliked???
dufflover replied to Weaponmaster303's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
With all this True Sith and Force Wound stuff which I never liked anyway, I wasn't too suprised at how it ended like that. Like with those two bits, the ending was the same - "what the heck?" -
Well since there's a Hutt "crime lord" on Sleheyron I would assume it's a Hutt world. I know all the other Hutts in K1 weren't anyway on that scale but in some ways it fits since they weren't grand enough to have their own slaves (and the Hutt in K2 is a crime lord, and has a slave). It could've been an early version of Taris? (but then they decided to clean it up)

The Reason why Kriea didn't kill the exile
dufflover replied to mrchallenge's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'm also not a fan of Revan the Sith Lord preparing the Republic against the True Sith. And with the way Kreia was all manipulative and ("suprise suprise") evil intentioned, I too think that the force bond was non-existant (or at least a fake force bond she controlled), like how she could hurt Atton. -
Would you think the same thing if she came with you. This is a pretty big "what if" but what if she made it clear she didn't think much of you, but after getting one Master she decides to join you. So I guess she becomes the nagging Bastila of the group... but then again if that happened I would've been satisfied she wasn't a wasted a character and this wouldn't even exist - unless it was a petition for an improved model.

I don't have any proof but I just assume that the majoriy of game players are male. The Sims is one of those games is apparently the favourite when it comes to female gamers and I'm curious at to whether being able to play as a female character influenced your thoughts on KotOR? Would you still have bought it if it was fixed gender? How important do you think this "feature" is?

I think it's supposed to be Force (Genital) Herpes
-
Well I'm not sure if this is the actual explanation but first I saw the term Force Sex it was about when you stay with Visas (I can't remember what point exactly, I think just after Kreia leaves). Although I didn't get it at first because it was really stretching the interpretation of what happened.

Upload Saved game option for KOTOR 3
dufflover replied to Worsin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I reckon that just be boring...start something new from scratch. Also it just wouldn't be practical for them to do. -
But all this is just a bi-product of peoples' input from K1 that your Alignment should affect party members. This does make the characters more dynamic but I found doing the simple (and in some ways a nice entertaining story away from the main plot) character side quests very fulfilling. Anybody seen Star Trek V? I haven't seen it in many many years cos I think it was crap, but anyway, in that there's this guy who goes around telling people "share their pain with him" or something like that. KotOR 2 felt a bit like that - you advanced their characters by talking, and getting into their deep backgrounds, where as in K1, yes, you still dwell into them but the things you did for them were more the sort of things friends do for each other (and these were doable quests, not just convos). I guess that's why I found the Handmaiden one better, because it involved actions. The problem with Influence was that in some cases it was too hard to get (like who would've guessed to take this party member here or there) - maybe that's the source of my bad perceptions. Hard to tell if the Influence copped some of the comprises to finish on time.

Force Wound/Void/Bonds in K3
dufflover replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Whoops. closed the wrong window ! Yep...call in the mods! -
Under the assumption of playing the Exile (and I suppose even if you're not), would you want the issue of Force Wound and those controlling Force Bonds you have no power over in K3. (treat separately from the more mutual bonds in K1).
