  1. No, firstly cos you're talking about K4, when K3 is unknown (I think there will be one but just not sure of what stage it is in). and yeh, who the hell is Darth Bane. The only lizard dude I can think of is Desaan from Jedi Outcast
  2. I think the thread about this directly is "Better Storyline" somewhere Edit: Linky It's closed but has a lot of the points on this. (I for one aren't gonna post it again here)
  3. 1600x1200 movies would be massive (unless they are compressed heavily which would explain the reduced quality). The way movies are scaled is the same way a lower-res game is scaled (by drivers/graphics card). It is possible to be done by software mode as well but normally it is done by the hardware. Just get someone with an nVidia card to change their scaling mode to no stretching at all, then play the game. If the movies still play full screen then it's the game doing the stretching.
  4. Like the Tatooine Desert?
  5. TRIARII!!! ("tree-arr-ree-ai") I wouldn't think Star Wars is too much related to latin. The ideas for the names might be from latin but the idea is that the characters don't know that, thus do not necessarily have to follow the latin saying.
  6. I agree - you needed a lot of upgrades and feats to back it up. Mira was good with the Mandalorian Disintegrator and another Mandalorian thingy, coupled with those good-shot feats (can't remember what it's called) My HK was probably even better, with a Disrupter Rifle upgraded for max criticals and attack bonus, with HK accuracy items (like that bonus vs organic), accuracy ranged feats, sniper shot, and the deadly assassination feat. Ofcourse as you can see that's quite a list and the those feats, especially the assassination protocols are quite "normal" until you get the 50% damage on, max level. Anyway seemingly much more hassle then a well configured lightsaber(s).
  7. The might weapon of the Star Wars Kid! http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=32729
  8. I can see your point but I think it was deliberate to show that all these planets have so-and-so, except in constrasting enviroments and themes (and say items to buy). I guess you noticed it more than others...
  9. I also say "nih-hilus", so I voted NEE-hilus cos that's closest and I what I thought he meant...
  10. If you're gonna upgrade your graphics you better upgrade that power supply too.
  11. I take it then none of the other threads managed to fix their problems (besides those who got it to work without antivirus). Well the only suggestion I have is that you disable and unload the antivirus - like ending the actual exe process(es) in task manager but this does depends on what antivirus program you use - still, most of them I know will keep it running, just disabled. Don't be too disappointed that you can't patch...
  12. because of no transit/warp system (well it does exist in a form on Telos and Dxun) Force Speed is more important than ever. I do use it for it's battle properties but man, it makes running through big/boring areas like Kashyyyk, Tatooine Desert, Peragus, the large Dxun camp, and others much faster.
  13. It depends on what order you do the planets. Typically by the later half (well maybe third) you are a very powerful character and most people will die in 1 or 2 attacks, except bosses. Well in the order that I did it, I found Korriban to be the hardest - mainly the tomb. I kept dying at the first "scene" and the whole flashback, visible "energy" and dying from people who disappear/ghosts set the whole tone for what I now call the "Korriban Freak Show" (in a horror sort of way). Also found the handmaiden duels and floating lightsabers hard.
  14. If you're on dial-up then the movies are not worth it - people with ADSL/Cable or whatever broadband should get it anyway (it's not a bad thing - unless you have a slow computer). However even on dial-up I strongly recommend the music update - it is always playing and you don't skip it like you do with movies. Depending on your ISP and stuff it's worth the overnight download. Sorry, I live in Australia.
  15. What exactly is the issue here? Kreia turning invisible or not doesn't make Peragus better or worse - plus it was only for a short movie and since I've only played the game once, I actually considered that maybe Sion had to use Force Sight to see as well given how messed up he is.
  16. Unfortunetly this is a world with a lot of scammers and lawyers meaning everything that is said by officials has to be very carefully worded. It's like how saying "sorry" and "regret" are two different things. We have a stadium in Melbourne called the Telstra Dome and it's surface is very poor - all the AFL players and well nearly everyone will atest to that but the owner and people affiliated will say there is not a problem; why? well firstly, it's like polluting companies saying there's no problem with global warming, and secondly it legally might be an admission of a problem and thus open to legal action (ie. compensation). Now in terms of K2 I'm not too sure what you could sue for if they admitted it wasn't completed properly, but there I reckon there would be a few people looking for an excuse, even if it is to get some freebie compensation. Secondly who would buy a game if it's advertised and admitted it's not finished. I don't see how it's an insult or rip-off (especially when the patch itself is free). People wanted higher quality content files and after a very stupid long delay, it has been eventually been delivered.
  17. You're probably better off saving up more for a new motherboard (hopefully not new processor) to simply the whole deal with the RAM and get the PCI-Express version. At least then you can reuse the card if you upgrade again later (and can use it in Crossfire as well). If sticking with the motherboard probably better of just getting a 6600GT, old Radeon 9800 or one of those low-end X800 AGP's, still very capable cards and at least the likely hood of wasting performance from only 4X AGP is reduced. (and save lots of money). You're next motherboard probably won't be AGP anyway so there's no point saying you'll use the 8X AGP characteristic later.
  18. oh my ... your preferences are obviously different to most people... I agree with Battlewookie on the Movie/KotOR comparison. Like I say in Kreia related threads, the bond was fake and a consequence of her being a ("secretly" powerful Sith Lord) witch. This is probably more for a K1/K2 compare thread but the whole over doing the story elements like this is one of the sub-reasons of liking the K1 story better. Anyway, I still think Peragus is stupid, especially when you solve what happened on the station but it means nothing, and at least in K1 when you solve puzzles it's to help people and be a goodie-goodie; Peragus is dead.
  19. HL2 also finished in a rather . . . disappointing but the quality of the rest of the game made up for it. A bit like K2 except as Battlewookie mentioned, a lot of stuff was mentioned in-game but nothing came of it. OK, so they didn't finish the ending - they could've at least cut the game properly, like by removing emphasis from droid factory, removing G0-T0 from the end scene with the Remote, cutting that Ebon Hawk falling movie, etc.
  20. Maybe someone should make a new thread "Kreia's Invisibility Cloak" (okok, I hate harry potter but you get the point)
  21. Well they did a pretty good job of it I wouldn't say Obsidian's story is decent...unless you love "wtf" events like Half-Life 2 and Matrix.
  22. The whole deal with Bastila walking around openly on Taris is just an oversight (or a comprise made to give more players the choice to take a Jedi into the Sith base, after all, Taris is a "beginner level"). It's like the oversight (or just ignoring it to keep the programming simple) walking around with huge vibro blades.
  23. That's highly unlikely...unless you buy like an old card or something. Even an X300 should be fine, although really that card is a disgrace to buy. I'm broke so I wouldn't be able to buy a new card if I was in your position, but if you can, just ask yourself how many games you have trouble with. A new graphics card will certainly help all games, but if it's only K2 you have trouble with then I wouldn't spend money - again though, I don't have that choice at all. I too noticed i915 support when the patch came out but by then I had just upgraded my graphics card. Did you try that weird suggested work around where you go to the Intel options and change this weird mode from Flip to Blit, or something like that (it's on the Intel page).
