Different kind of RPG. Big maps , huge dungeons, lots of combat. And some really evil puzzles. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Guess they are not my kind of thing. I hate hack and slash RPGs...
-
Wasn't the Might & Magic always pretty poor when compared to just about any other RPG? I still laugh every time I see a M&M title, they always look so bad.
-
I've played the beta and I must say, this game is really dissapointing. As a MMORPG, it's just not on par with anything else that's doing well at the moment. The fact that everything is instanced knocks this game into the Guild Wars category (what ever they are calling that game anyways). Also, no crafting system... No possibility of a complex in-game economy (again, instanced zones cause this problem), absolutely nothing to do besides "adventure." This game gets boring quiet fast. Though I couldn't care less about it being D&D, from what I understand... This game doesn't feel/play like D&D.

It's more focused on creating very well thought out characters and a very interesting story... I know Gab hates it, since she is only use to games like BG.

I took the time to track it down (the second game anyways), install play it for a few hours... It wasn't for me. That means it sucks right? That's your hole logic with PST right?

I played Black... honestly, you can't get anymore generic then Black as far as shooters go.
-
I'm guessing $400~500. Sony would be foolish to sell for anything even remotely close to the actual production cost.
-
Pretty good. I like Steam and the idea of downloading games. I hope there is still a retail version, since I like owning the CDs/DVDs, box, manuals n' stuff.
-
LOL That's almost exactly how my Morrowind experience started and ended. Except I stuck with it a bit more, man, but you basicly summarized the hole game there.

Read Question: If it was a good game, would you force yourself not to like it? I'm guessing yes...
-
ahahahahahahahaha <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lol I actually bothered reading that hole thing.

There are those that would kill you for that <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm sorry but it is boring most of the time. And you know what? COME GET SOME <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You have just made it to the black list... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OooOOooooOoo the black list, THE BLACK LIIISSTT! <_< I was just annoyed by the MONOTONOUS music. I actually like the games the first time I played them. And the second. But it's been years since and I guess I'm more dependant on technology advancements then I thought thats all. I'm hooked on Torment again though... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Maybe you are just hooked by actual storyline? But seriously, don't talk smack about Fallout... These people don't take to kindly to it.
-
It is. However, it's being made into a full game using the Unreal 3 engine I believe. Looks very awsome indeed.
-
Well. Did you kill re-spawning enemies? I was level 33 at the end of the game. :'( <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There are other ways to achieve godhood. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The mine extraction was a good one... Meh, you could leave the entire game on auto battle and you would still beat it... Being godlike isn't really all that great in KOTOR 2.
-
Not even to light people on fire? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL no. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yikes  <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Guess she is bored of playing the same old PC games over and over again. "

I'm currently... Replaying Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne in hard mode. The Obelisk Tower is KICKING my ass. Finishing up Persona 2 - Eternal Punishment... clocking near 100 hours, love this game so much. That's it for now... Planning to tacke Artelier Iris afterwards... Sigh, I wish I had some PC games to look forward to.

Character development vs. Character freedom
Haitoku replied to Ginthaeriel's topic in Computer and Console
Eh, sorry, I don't agree with that. -
Wha? Why? I never had problems with K2 patches. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lol. Did you forget that long as delay on the patch and the movie/music upgrade after that? It was horrible. Some people had some real game stoppers too. Though I played through the entire game without any patches, I was really disgusted by the performance issues. A engine that old should run moderately on a decent system...

Character development vs. Character freedom
Haitoku replied to Ginthaeriel's topic in Computer and Console
Well, I'm not all that into roleplaying. I would gladly swap my characters freedom for the sake of creating a much better storyline. Though if I'm playing something like Fallout 2, I expect to have all the freedom in the world. -
I got KOTORII on the Xbox same missing bits, but it did play through without a hitch. Prices (of games) should drop when the other consoles hit the market later this year. The PS2 retail price was

Thank the gods I got that reserve in early
Haitoku replied to kumquatq3's topic in Computer and Console
That's funny, you seem to be under the impression that they cater to the same types of fans... there not even on the same platform. If the new Zelda had a better outlet... Like the PS2, it would be so much bigger then both Oblivion and as much as it pains me to say it, Neverwinter Nights 2. -
Who are you talking about specificly? @ Topic The horse thing should really be a problem. Though they probably should come up with a better world map system.... walking for hours has no place in a modern RPG.

Episode I is an incredible introduction to the series. As a story, it's very enjoyable. As a game however, it totaly blows. Think of it as an RPG version or R-Type, you get absolutely no choice in anything. You just follow a line from scene to scene, with tons of battles with a very repetitive battle system. Episode II is a step in the right direction I think. Very innovative battle system. More exploring, more things to do besides the main quest. Story is still top notch.

No, just one pretentious PC gamer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I finally got around to Xenosaga II. Is it correct that they are not making anymore ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The series was originaly suppose to be a six episodes. However, due to Tetsuya Takahashi ambition and his lack of being able to create with a set budget (the same exact problem he had with Square durint he development of Xenogears). Also the fact the the series is pulling in average sales (Namco wanted it to be something to rival FF in terms of sales)... It's getting cut in half... More specificly, only 2/6 of the series. Episode I/II were originaly suppose to be one game (they are releasing as Episode I & II for DS though :D). Episode III will probably hit NA Feb. 07 (like the previews Xenosaga games). I don't know about a PAL release though. It's not that bad from what I understand. Episode III was always ment to end the current story arc, so one could argue that everything is on track... but if this one doesn't sell well, no hope for Xenosaga Frontier (what the next story arc was suppose to be called).
