Well, I don't necessarily think that these how to live your life programs are a problem, there's been such things going on for a while, just not with the same size of consumers as now, and not in a more physical sense, but rather a spiritual one. The fact that the current issue concerns the physical is to me not a problem, but more of a sad effect of what has happened to society. Almost everything is materialistic nowadays, what cars you have, how much money you make, the clothes you wear, hell even your own body. I'm not saying that everyone is such, nor that materialism is only bad, but I think too many are too focused on it. In a way, I guess it could be considered a problem to some since it encourages materialism over morals/ethics whatever, and that isn't a very comforting thought. Now, I wouldn't go so far as to say that the general population of a country actually takes these programs to heart, but the fact that they exist must have some reason... It's the same with the whole reality show thing, like big brother, or paradise hotel/island whatever the hell it is. I sure as hell don't like em, but sometimes it's amusing to observe the low level of intelligence some of those people seem to be on, and what it leads to. As for the individuality issue, I don't think it'll be a problem. How individual one is depends more (I think, and hope) on one's past, experiences, and social life, rather than TV programs. Also, how would one define individual? To some people a group of other people may all seem the same and vice versa, but within each group every person has their own individuality, though it can only be percieved by those within the group. For example, to me, snobs here in Sweden all look and act the same to me. I'm pretty sure that's what they think of me as a skateboarder as well, but there's no way either I or they can make such a statement and validate it. Well, I've rambled enough now...

Heh, misunderstand me correctly! The sounds and portions of the level of the factory were on the xbox version but not available to play in the game, while they weren't in the pc version at all. The files that is. Neither version got to actually play the level..
-
I think the stuff was there on the xbox version but gone on the pc version, as for why, who knows? But you can download a savegame that includes it..

What mods do you use?
draakh_kimera replied to AlaricQelDroma's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I've got Hades rebalance mod. Seems pretty cool so far, no rampant leveling, and the BABs are adjusted according to class, along with feats, skills, force progression. -
Great stuff! Good job man, this is really cool...I wanna play that HK factory now...

No, I'm not saying OE should be praised, I'd just like it if some people (not you) would take a look at the bigger picture. Well, since OE's a new developer I don't think their objections would carry much weight... Now, I'm not sure about this, but didn't LA decide to move the deadline for the xbox to Christmas after the E3 show, instead of the intended one in February? I dunno, I guess OE wasn't expecting that, but yes, the whole contract thing is ultimately OE's responsiblity. I just blame LA for making what seems to have been an unreasonable contract.
-
@Hive: OE didn't sell the game. LA did. They as the publisher are ultimately responsible for delivering a game that has been rushed. They were most probably well aware of what OE had to do to get the game out in the time given. For all you people blaming OE for the bad game, tell me, what is the developers role apart from developing the game to the publishers wants and needs? I don't believe that the cutting of various parts was OE's fault. It was their decision to do so in order to save time, but it was to appease their publisher's demands, who wanted a Christmas release. Same thing for the bugs. OE wasn't given ample time to fix them because of said publisher's demands. [sarcasm] As for Urquhart's statement. Some people here want him to own up. Yeah, that's a really good idea, I'm sure LA wouldn't do anything about that. I'm sure it wouldn't break certain contract agreements, or cause a possible lawsuit. No, none of that would ever happen. In fact, it would be great for OE. Securing future publishers wouldn't be a problem at all, it'd probably make things easier for them if they bit the hand that feeds. [/sarcasm]

Has anyone heard the new Mars Volta record? Is it any good? Also, how are the earlier Bungle albums? I've been having a hard time finding them (for some strange reason I don't download music...) Listening to: Children of Bodom Follow the Reaper Alexi Laiho is a goddamnably impressive guitarist... -
(Insert joke about putting together star wars and leisure suit larry)

Hmm, not playing anything, studying analytic/linear algebra, mechanics, reading some books, and waiting for the weather to to get better so I can go bomb some hills.

Star Wars isn't supposed to be too advanced. Especially not now since everything seems to be more aimed at the younger audience, though I'm not sure if it ever wasn't...

What?!? Where?? Noooo! And, uh, the whole duck thing was just kinda weird, but imagine if it had been chimps and kumquatq3s (w00t)

Well, I haven't listend to that much of Pattons stuff, but I think Mr. Bungle is cool! Unfortunatley I haven't been able to get ahold of their other albums, but I'm happy with California at the moment, though right now I'm listening to: Pantera (R.I.P. Dime) Cowboys from Hell -

Mr. Bungle: California. I think I might be able to go crazy listening to this record for an extended period of time. -
I thought she was one of the more interesting characters, with a backstory that could have been really good if there was more of it. Plus I'm a sucker for both redheads and more independent/challenging women

A thread to share your taste (or lack thereof) for music and discuss taste(lessness) with other people! Currently listening to: The Mars Volta, Inertiatic Esp off of De-loused in the Comatorium. Somewhat odd music, but pretty good.

Hate is too strong a word. I would label Visas as annoying/boring. I didn't find her interesting and her constant "my life for yours" really got on my nerves. As some people have said, too submissive. She isn't weak though, I'm pretty sure most people would be pretty messed up if they'd had her past.

Your level when finished the game
draakh_kimera replied to madwolfx's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The game was easy, but it was ridiculously easy at levels above 18-20. Also, Nihilus was gaining power for how long as opposed to the exile? -
