I thought that all the nordic languages have developed over time and then became what they are now. If I'm not mistaken Icelandic is the language closest to the old scandinavian language...which would make Iclandic (what the hell's it called anyway?!?) the mother of all lanuages :ph34r:

Heh, in sweden driving and voting and basically being legally resonsible for your actions is 18. The funny thing is, although you're allowed to drink and buy alcohol at clubs and restuarunts, you can't buy anything at the liqour store until your 20. I've never really understood that law.

Heh, sounds familiar, but the problem I've got with making up for it is that I get so damn out of it if I sleep more than 8-9 hours Anyone else have this problem?

So, how much do you people sleep on a weekday? How does this affect you? Just kinda curious. Myself, I average at about 5-6 hours, find myself constantly dozing off between the 8 and 12 morning classes, and don't properly wake up until sometime in the afternoon...

I dislike LOTR nerds. This could be because I haven't met any of the other categories, but still, Tolkein is waay overrated.

Well, we've got Valborg on saturday here in Sweden (dunno what it is in English and I can't be bothered to find out), and though that doesn't mean two weeks vacation, it does involve lots of heavy drinking ) .

Hmnm, just discovered that vodka and tequila are quite similar. In fact, theyre prety muh thes ame, althught they have different names. so anyway. Uh, vodka = ****E (theres a story to this, but i cnat share it right now..) = tequila, sort of beer= good stuff, unless youre one of those that mosltye drinke cider. bastard.s. j

Yeah, well, as I said, I don't know enough about it to make any conrete statements, though I think the way China has reacted to the textbooks nationalism isn't justifiable. Japan did give China a lot of money to help build up their economy before, but you don't hear China thanking Japan for that.. But how do you think it's gonna affect the political situation there? That's what's interesting.

Well, though the whole US-UN thing was quite interesting, what do you people think of the current China-Japan issue? I don't really feel like I know quite enough to say anything concrete about it, but it is kind of interesting that the bad blood of the past is brought up at the same time as there's a conflict of gas/oil possession...Also, no one has said anything about China's actions in Tibet, which were just as bad as those done by the Japanese in china. Anyway, just wondering what you people think may happen as a result of this. The asian stockmarket has already shown some reflection of this problem, and I wonder if the current talks are gonna go anywhere.
