  1. Ditto. And yeah I was worried about letting top donors design game content. I mean how could they do it justice without designer level knowledge of the world and such? But it is hardly that big of a deal. My kids/wife come in to talk to me every 10 minutes or so and I manage to tolerate that without my immersion being broken.
  2. They get a certain number of spells per encounter. So they never become useless redshirts unless the fight goes on awhile. Even then they have fancy rods and wands that shoot past deflection so they can continue to contribute.
  3. But seriously if the backers put something in there that is over the line Obsidian should take it out, or at least modify it. Whether or not this qualifies I don't know.
  4. Is it as nauseatingly transphobic as Rupaul? Because I am not sure I can take that level of evil.
  5. Ooooh that is a good idea, I hope Obsidian does this at some point. It would be cool to see how far people got.
  6. She swings her poleaxe around. Best to keep your chanter close to the front line.
  7. Yep. It can really hamstring a project. I like limited VO the best, you get an idea of what each character sounds like but it is not a burden on what the game can do.
  8. Plenty of people want this. But even if PoE becomes a AAA franchise I think full VO would be limiting on gameplay.
  9. By the way you do not have to replace the default portraits, when you put your custom ones in the directory they show up as additional portraits. This thread is where I learned how to do it: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/66894-how-to-make-custom-portraits/ I get all my portraits from Deviantart.
  10. Ok guess I am going to Steam. I just keep feeling like this is obvious but for some reason I just cannot see it. So frustrating.
  11. Not every game needs to be fully voice acted. I find that full voice acting limits how big and complex a game can be and that is a difficult trade off to justify just so I don't have to read as much. But to each his own, not every game has to be the same. You have plenty of games out there that are fully voice acted, and we have PoE.
  12. So I see that the soundtrack and all that are listed as DLC I downloaded with PoE but I cannot see anyway to access them. Steam says I should be able to access them after I boot up the game but I do not see how. I also do not see anything in my PoE directory on my hard drive. So what gives? I would like to see the Almanac and al that. The Steam forums scare me so hopefully somebody will answer here heh.
  13. I like those fan reviews on Metacritic not only attacking the game for daring to be different from the games that person likes, but also furious at everybody who does like the game. When this person is dictator every game will be SW:TOR.
  14. I could not be happier with how this turned out. I believed in you guys and you totally delivered.

  16. Yeah I am having an amazing time. This is exactly what I wanted and a feeling I have not had since DA:O. Rock on. It reminds me what we missed with none of these games being made since 2002. Just wonderful. So blown away we finally got another game like this. Cannot thank Obsidian and you other backers enough.
  17. Wait you can? I thought you had to get to the first big city first and visit the Adventurer's Hall?
  18. I think this is a good hallmark of the difference between early Sierra games and early Lucasarts games, Sierra had some illogical puzzles that could lead you to dead ends, whereas Lucasarts games always seemed to make sense logically (also the lack of failure states was nice, bar the easter egg in MI1). QFG4's install time was huge, but then it also had full voice work for narration, so I'll give it that. QfG2 is by far my favourite of the series, though. 'Rubber trees' god I busted a gut a that, just seconds after going 'Huh? I died'? Jennifer Hale's first role was Katrina in QFG4 I was instantly in love. Granted I fell in love easily at 14. QFG2 was such a bizarre anomaly, so much bigger and better and longer than any of the other games. I never got that. QFG4 was my second favorite one though.
  19. Heh I remember checking the mail everyday for my KQ2. Stupid bridle quest, what was up with that? It took so long to install those old Sierra Games that I remember QFG4 had little entertaining stories to pass the time.
  20. Yeah I was going to stay up until midnight and countdown. But instead I guess I will just go to work and play when I get home. That's how it goes.
