Cluttered. Gloomy, too. I bet you have a haunted house sound theme to go with it.

"Post Mortem: KotOR2" at Game Developer Mag
It's an excellent and balanced article, acknowledging strengths, weakness and mixed results - fascinating for those of us who have played through a few times and raised many of the same issues on these boards. I thought the game contained more memorable moments than most - I hadn't realised that this had been consciously incorporated into the design. The remarks on cut scenes are interesting. It would be interesting to know how much of the cut content on the disc was removed due to the problems involving movement, and whether the Restoration Project is coming up against the same issue in trying to restore these scenes. Lack of polish time? Really? We hadn't noticed. More seriously, the fact that they've identified some of the flaws, particularly with the influence system and need to be realistic about quantity of content, bodes very well for NWN2. Does anyone who visits the Bioware boards know if Obsidian are going to have another go at improving AI for NWN2?

Question about Revan and the first Atton convo
She won't join you, but you will see her again. No, no-one reacts to your choice of lightsaber colour. You're free to choose any colour at all. It would have been nice if people were to flee your evil red saber, but it doesn't happen. :D Yes. Don't know what happens if you say you forget - maybe it's random.

Is Obs your vice?
Ah, it's the little arrow at the side. I get it. Thanks guys.

Is Obs your vice?
I can't say that appeals. Besides, my body is not attuned to either cold or caffeinated hot chocolate. When I drink hot chocolate, that means it is soon time for bed. Rats. All this talk has given me a craving. Well, I'll definitely be having some tonight. This is slightly off-topic, but as we're discussing the Obsidian forums, only slightly. When you quote something, what's all this 'right/snapback' that appears in the quote?

Is Obs your vice?
I'd love some, but it's a bit early in the morning, and I don't want to get drowsy.

Is Obs your vice?
I feel like I spend a lot of time here, but that's OK. It's a useful five-minute break from work during the day. So long as I spend more time playing games than talking about them, I think I'm OK.

KOTOR II Wins Best RPG of the Year at G-Phoria
So Obsidian chose not to go, or they weren't invited? Filmed days ago, no time given to the awards - I haven't seen it, but the whole thing sounds a bit of a joke.

Yes.
Negotiate. Work out an agreement. On what grounds is she objecting to you playing games? Who owns the computer?

RPGs in Production
Useful list, thanks. I'll contribute what I can, should I ever know anything. If we're having Larian Studios' next project, we should have PNJ as well. Pirates!?? Really? I wouldn't call it an RPG, but it's up to you, I guess. I agree that released games should be separated out - after all, the thread title says 'in production'. It's true that people are still working on VtM:B and releasing unofficial patches, but this isn't substantially different from modding, I suppose. There has to be a cut-off point.

Fanboy/Fangirl Take 3
Not on this forum - it would break the forum guidelines. I think I'll wait for the movie.

ABC Miniseries....The Lost
Lost starts on British TV tonight. We finally get to see what all the fuss is about. :D

1 kotOR's game for 2 PC...
But they'll find out as soon as they read this thre... OK, point taken. :D

You have to love the British
Indeed, it isn't funny when you consider that he was answering a 999 call, and there may have been someone waiting for him in desperate need of help. However, the passersby couldn't know that; plus, it's always good to see a symbol of authority humbled. It's democratic.

1 kotOR's game for 2 PC...
The EULA says one copy; it doesn't say two copies at one address. As far as I understand it (I'm not a lawyer), I'd say it meant one copy on one computer only.

Pure Pazaak
I'm a casual player - I dip into it for five minutes a day, and only play Arcade mode. It's perfect for what I need - a more entertaining replacement for solitaire. The one thing I'd wish for is the ability to save my chosen deck so that whenever I start a new Arcade game I don't have to reselect all the cards again (can you already do that? )

Those passersby who laughed will be charged with failing to help a member of the security forces, providing succour to terrorism, and treason, as indeed will the photographer and the journalist. They won't be laughing for long.

G-Phoria: KotOR II - Did they earn it?
Obsidian don't seem to be too enthused by their victory. You'd think it would be plastered across the home page, but no. As we're not discussing the game in detail, this probably belongs in the General Discussion forum.

Jack Thompson
I think it would make his day. :D If you're extra lucky, he might threaten you with legal action. Go on, try!
-
Jack Thompson
No, he's not. You're the victim in all of this. He's going to sue the gaming industry on your behalf and get you millions of dollars. You should write and tell him how scarred you are.

Sentinel/Weaponmaster build
I think raising any stat beyond 14 at creation is a bit of a waste. Better to put a little into Dex, unless you plan to wear very heavy armour throughout. As alanschu said, don't waste skill points on cross-class skills. Save the points for a couple of level ups, choose the class skill feat, then spend them. I never put points into security. Computer, repair, awareness and persuade are the most important for opening up dialogue options I think, and Treat Injury for gameplay. I think the personal crystal varies according to your class or alignment - it's definitely not the same every time.

Diablo III on the rocks
You could well be right - if they've improved Dungeon Siege as much as Battlewookie is saying, that suggests you are, as indeed does the fact that Diablo III has been pulled due to lack of quality. Interesting to see that Stargate: Alliance was pulled from its developer for the same reason. Is this a new trend in games publishing - from now on, games are going to be released that are good quality, QA tested, and finished?
