  1. Women are strange creatures indeed, that's why they aren't meant to be understood. They are meant to be loved. That's why we think that Hurlie situation is so funny, since he acted in a complete honest and rational way when it wasn't needed. If anything, he should've joked about it.
  2. Hey, hey, HEY! The story doesn't end there. What did your wife say to the police? Did the massage parlor rub him the wrong way? teheheheee
  3. Things will get quite interesting when we see massproduction of sex-robots for people with more perserve tastes. Think of anything that would considered illegal against a normal person, but since it is only a robot...
  4. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is the best thing that has happened to anime in years. It is not only a good MechaAnime or even Anime, it simply trancends into something that is a total celebration of everything that is good in this world.

  6. This. Having investment banks living the dream of government working as a guarantee for their failures is a serious moral hazard.
  7. Quality thread. I approve
  8. That's not all there is to it. There's the aspect that Taiwan has been independent (de facto) from China for more than 50 years, has a completely different political system, government, and has also evolved because of this a distinct cultural attitude (similar as they are on other matters culturally). Then again, I'm guessing you think Kosovo 'belongs' to the Serbs, right? Pfft. That analogy would only work if the mainland chinese would consider Taiwan as the birthplace of the chinese people and culture. Kosovo reminds me more about the Israel/Palestine-conflict.
  9. "You sodding copyright infringementers" doesn't have the same strong negative tone as "You sodding thieves".
  10. More like appeasing the Vatican, I'd say. The Vatican is the only Western state recognizing Taiwan and it just so happened most countries with diplomatic relations with Taiwan are predominantly Roman Catholic, according to my quick wiki searches anyway. I'd be surprised if such correlation is incidental. That's quite interesting, considering that only 4 percent of the their population is christian of any sort. I couldn't find any numbers on Roman-catholics. The tinfoil-hat approach doesn't work either, since Sovereign Military Order of Malta has no diplomatic relations with Taiwan
  11. More like appeasing the Vatican, I'd say.
  12. Does it really matter which political party the politicians like to hide behind as a fake alibi for behaving like idiots? Not really. - F*** the bankers who think that they are "too big to fail" and think that they are entitled to a government-backed bail-out. - F*** the politicians who cave in to the scary-crow of "total monetary meltdown". - F*** people like Paulson who are ex-bankers and who demanded healthy banks to sign up for a bail-out. Crooks and s***heads as him should have no political power and should not have a seat in government. F*** the a**hole who it was a sound idea of giving him governmental position. - F*** those idiots who thought that letting depositories of people's savings(banks) to be allowed as equity in their gambling schemes (investments, as in investmentbank). I could go on forever.
  13. Yeah! Screw what the Taiwanese themselves think! Honestly, I had a Chinese nationalist say exactly that to me yesterday, Meshugger. Makes me sick. [devil's advocate] You western imperalists have no insight or understandment of eastern culture! We have history where you do not! Your vision only undermines the nation of China. We will never become your Balkan!" [/devil's advocate] Those guys are hilarious. It is like talking to a random context-free-language generator. Those guys have no real thought of their own.
  14. [devil's advocate] But Taiwan has always been chinese! Why are you guys meddling with chinese domestic affairs? Shame on you, you hypocritical bastards! [/devil's advocate]
  15. IIRC, the endings in TSLRP and TSLRCM are the same, except that Gizka had made special "Atton leaning against a pillar"-animation before joining The Exile on the Ebon Hawk. TSLRCM has the same ending, without the leaning animation.
  16. I, for one, can't for the day when we can download a car.
  17. Yeah, it was a typo. There shouldn't be any more official patches than the one mentioned.
  18. If you'd bothered to read the thread, these 'laws' were passed by an independent body - the media regulator. This is not legislation and it seems pretty flimsy to call it law. While it was passed by a government body, it was not passed by parliament - what most people consider government. I thought that anything the media regulator does would be passed through the parliament. That just would make.sense.
  19. Hey, LucasArts planned a KotOR III, oh wait...
  20. I like how he managed to get the story of pac-man difficult :D
  21. What the hell is wrong with Australia? Is your government a some sort of Taleban-wannabees?
  22. I actually bought "Catcher in the Rye" two weeks ago R.I.P.
  23. IIRC, it's in the "lets toy around and see what happens"-phase, play the TSLRCM now and again whenever that mod is released. Personally, i will play it again when the Sith Lords Massive improvement Mod is released (no content, just higher resolution-skins, audio and whatnot).
