  1. It basically allows to control the evolution (beginning as physical then progressing to social and technological) of a creature you create from a unicellular organism to ruler of a galactic empire (if you so choose). The game is somehow connected to a server of player-created organisms and will choose to introduce animals that fill out the ecosystem. So, for example, if you have no herbivores or no marine creatures ad infinitem, the game will automatically introduce them without any necessary input from the player. I must say I am rather anticipating this game.
  2. Well, it was supposedly the pagan god/demon several Knights Templar confessed that the group worshipped in confessions wrangled from them through torture by Inquisitionists. Though these men later recanted, the Church used these statements as an excuse to declare the order heretics and "disband"/kill them. Since then it has been used in many ways, mostly occult. As I have the Wikipedia List of Demons in my favorites tab (its research for my writing, I swear!), allow me to link you to the Baphomet page.
  3. Well, after several weeks of inactivity on this front, I have returned. And I have a challenge for you all. Though I already have a flexible basic premise for my work, I would like to ask if anyone has any concepts they believe would be interesting in a novel of this sort. There are no guarantees I will use your ideas, though I will credit you in the Acknowledgements if I do decide to include it. Also, know that I plan to complete Chapter 1 by Wednesday and will post sections as I finish them.
  4. There is no need to register ever again with the wonder that is bugmenot.com.
  5. Exactly. 'Of America' implying it belongs to a larger land mass named America. Thus, America is a continent, not a country.
  6. My greatest achievement at this game is to have landed on 4 piles of dynamite in a row in the same shot.
  7. ...which is why I used the term 'equivalent' as opposed to 'the same as.'
  8. Serfs are equivalent to slaves, mreku.
  9. For some odd reason, God Bless the USA began running through my head while I read that. That said, I agree with what you have said, though I take a more dim view of humanity, being at heart a pessimist. Anyway, Happy Birthday, United States of America! May good days come again soon.
  10. ...says the man with almost a thousand posts.
  11. If only I knew the rules, I might be interested. Not being a Brit might direly affect my chances however.
  12. IMO, that would be so much more poignant if they spelled 'convulsed' correctly. Yes, I am a stickler for spelling. (Not a Nazi, because Nazis are evil.)
  13. ("\(o..o)/") My pal, the two-toed sloth. Now, seriously, I would post pictures of my pets, but the lack of a digital camera inhibits me. Thus, I shall describe them. Edit: Remembered the wonders of scanning technology. Edit 2: I apologize for breaking the boundaries of the page. I am not well-versed in the ways of digital photography. If anyone can advise me as to how to make the pictures into enlargeable thumbnails, I would appreciate it. I have two dogs and a cat. The dogs are both Huskies, though one is 60% wolf. Despite that he looks exactly like the classic husky except with brown eyes. He is also one of the nicest dogs you will every meet. Before we got an underground electric fence, he used to roam the town and had friends everywhere. Even the police knew him by name (Coyote) and would feed him. The other husky is red and white with blue eyes. His name is Timber. He is probably the dumbest and most neurotic dog known to man. However, he is also a great source of fun and amusement for my family. He has a mountain of toys and desires to play at all hours. He also neglects to clean them up. He usually sleeps on his back with his legs up in the air. The cat is a Classic Tabby named Tiger (I was a great deal younger when I named him). He is incredibly smart and quite cute. The other cat in the photo was my sister's Norwegian Forest named Picasso due to the markings on his face. Unfortunately, he had to be put to sleep a few months ago due to organ failure.
  14. I shall say this once and only once. The ******* word is poseur! If you are going to be idiots and call someone that at least know how to spell the word.
  15. There is so much left to be discovered about the brain that it could easily be due to a current mechanism we fail to realize exists or of which we know not the function.
  16. Should Baley object, I will agree to his move superseding mine in this instance, as he was within the time limit while I was not.
  17. I apologize for being so close, but the power has been out after a large rain storm. Please allow me a short grace period, though I will understand if you cannot. Edit: Sent.
  18. Hmm...it seems to be working now. Odd.
  19. According to an AMD Press Release, AMD has filed an antitrust suit against Intel, claiming they monopolize the x86 processor market by coercing businesses (ranging from large conglomerates to local retailers) away from AMD products through 7 forms of illegal persuasion. Personally, I see this as a good thing. Competition between businesses almost always signals further innovation and lower prices for the consumer in attempts to garner more business. Anyone care to share their view of events?
  20. Ah. My mistake. Much of communication is lost without indication of body language and tone. As a (feeble) excuse, I offer my dearth of sleep.
  21. You obviously have vast and deep insight into the realm of politics.
