  1. I believe you mean WEG d6 Star Wars. Anyway, Ive played only d20 Star Wars, DnD 3rd and 3.5 edition, as well as Eberron. Never found anyone else to play with for other systems. So it would be the first time for me in them as well. However, should we play WoD, Ender explained the system adequately well to me that I should be fine. And so I assume most people are Eastern then? Since Ender is only 1 timezone away, the time difference isnt nearly as great as it could be, so scheduling should be alright.
  2. I do not deny that such is possible. I simply believe Nur overstates the truth and projects his prejudice onto an entire ethnic group. Generalization in such cases is deeply wrong.
  3. We should probably share at least our timezones, so that we know our schedules are in sync. Im Eastern and I know Ender should be Central if he lives in Omaha, but I am unsure as to the rest of us.
  4. I know I am feeding the troll, but I cannot control my outrage and disgust. You, sir, are the worst kind of bigot: one who blames the victim as justification. I am ashamed to share the world with your ilk. I admit there are extremist Jews; there are extremists in every creed. However, they are a distinct minority and their opinions should not be viewed as the beliefs of the remainder. To do so is morally and logically reprehensible. Also, the Jews have suffered more acts of racism than almost any other group throughout history. I think they have the right to declare an area or country dangerous to Jews. Many countries do the same thing when warning their citizens to avoid areas where Westerners are viewed unfavorably and could be hurt. To not protect your own would be the crime.
  5. Though I havent read the old Wereworf, this new version seems rather different to what you describe. Basically, the history of the werewolves begins on Pangaea, a paradise ruled by spirits. In particular, Urfarah - Father Wolf. Luna (the moon) is entranced by Pangaea and comes down to investigate. Eventually, the two meet and give birth to the first werewolves. The first pack of Uratha (werewolves) inherited traits from both parents, and were raised to assist Father Wolf in his rule. Over time, Father Wolf grows weaker and allows more spirits and such to escape his notice, setting up their own tyrannical kingdoms. Even when he did catch them, it took longer for him to kill them and some escaped. Pangaea had become a paradise for ambitious spirits and their human servants, yet purgatory for all others. It is in the nature of the wolf to battle for dominance, and that only the strongest should lead as alpha. Urfarah was failing, and the world suffered for it. Thus, his children struck against him, killing him. It was necessary, but still heinous to them. Luna heard the dying cry of her lover and cursed all her children. As a result, the Uratha became called the Forsaken, and have sought to keep the spirit worlds and human worlds in balance ever since, though both despise them for it. Also, three of the original Uratha did not attack Father Wolf. They and their descendants are known as the Pure, and proclaim their loyalty to Urfarah, that his death was not their sin. Three of Father Wolf's spirit children hear this cry and offer an alliance to the Pure, so that they might strike against their traitorous kin. Thus was born the greatest enemy of the Forsaken. The social system seems rather tribal, with approximately 5 "packs" based on various philosophies and purpose. Beyond that, certain powers and personalities (and thereby roles within a tribe) are associated with the aspect of the moon in which you first change.
  6. I have those as well as Werewolf.
  7. Well, Id like to play something new (to me). And I recently acquired the new WoD books... However, I am willing to play pretty much anything. So I suppose it is up to the remaining members.
  8. Anyone have a preference?
  9. Very well. We shall employ your services should no other step up and providing your continued willingness.
  10. Should we assume from the fact you suggest a system that you are willing to run the game?
  11. Given that we have many PnP RPG players, as evidenced by the popularity of the subforum, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in getting together a game with regulars. Knowing the range of personalities here, I foresee an enjoyable session for all were such to come to pass. Naturally, it would be dependent upon geography, but Im sure we have enough people to perhaps start several games each based in a different timezone. Perhaps one North American West Coast, one North American East Coast, and one for England, since most of the members seem to be from Canada, US, or England. Of course, there is the possibility for games in other parts of the world should anyone be interested in running such. Though I have submitted the idea, I am not what most would call an experienced Rper. Certainly, I am nowhere near qualified to act as GM/DM/ST etc. Therefore, I would ask someone(s) to step up and arrange a game. The system would be up to the GM, with some input from players. The easiest format would seem to be through the Internet, whether a program such as OpenRPG, a chat program, or PbP/PbEM. Again, this would be up to the players and their DM. Should anyone be interested in arranging something like this, please post and maybe we could get something started. Maybe we should follow this format to suggest games: Preferred Systems, Experience, Style of Games (whether more combat or RP focused), any specific house rules, and any requirements for application. Add anything else as you see fit. Everything in this post is subject to modification as suggested by others.
  12. I just finished watching the series earlier today, so I had also considered making this thread. Great minds think alike, eh, kumquat? Anyway, Im looking forward to it. Also, the U.S. Scifi channel will be showing the series Fridays at 7 PM starting this week. So if you havent seen it, theres a chance to catch up.
  13. Well, preferably, we wont start until we have seven players. Since I have already gained the acceptance of Darque, Laozi, and Universal Soldier (Numbersman has yet to respond), that leaves 4 spots. Assuming that they were to be filled by OBS-01 players, I would have to have a buffer period for alternate players to join. I think until Sunday would be acceptable. Thus, at the present moment, our players are: Darque, Laozi, Universal Soldier, Ender, Jaguars, possibly Eldar (he's considering it) and _______. That leaves Reveilled, Numbers, and others associated with OBS-01 as alternates. Naturally, Numbers would be first choice should someone drop out, then whoever applied first. Reveilled would be last as he already is involved in two games. Edit: Kaftan has not agreed to play. That was a mistake on my part.
  14. Id say that map, especially as it is not in geographical format, would confuse many newer players, perhaps even myself. Afterall, I, too, am fairly new to the system. Thus, we shall play using the standard map and rules.
  15. GoA: You are barred from harming or attempting to harm Darque in any way. I require her for my Diplomacy game. By the way, have any interest in playing? :D
  16. I know you meant it at least partly in sarcasm, yet I find such stereotypes of any creed offensive. Please refrain from such in the future.
  17. I wasnt aware of that, but its still worth a shot. Perhaps GitP games could act as a sponsor or something.
  18. If you were to follow this advice, Id try Rich Burlew. He writes The Order of the Stick, which is as far as I know the most well-known DnD webcomic. It also happens to be fairly hilarious.
  19. I would also be interested in such. Also, based on the prejudice in your world, did you draw off the setting of Arcanum, at least in that aspect? It sounds somewhat similar to me.
  20. Bah. You know very well I introduced you to demonology and such on Wikipedia, Meta.
  21. I'll say the deadline is 24 hours after we have 7 players. That should give anyone who cares a chance to throw their name in the hat, once the deadline draws close. However, should we have more than 7 applicants, first come, first serve (excluding OBS-01 players).
  22. Well, there are quite a few non-Jedi/Sith Force Traditions in the Star Wars setting. I was suggesting the protagonist be raised in one of them, most of which have different ways of using the force than the more well known orders. For example, the Witches of Dathomir, the Wizard of Tund, the Baran Do Sages, the Matukai, and the Zeison Sha Anyway, there are always more planets to be discovered, so the devs are free to create a new Force Tradition on one of them, with powers of their choice. I would caution them that most Force Traditions tend to be rather specialized in their application of the Force. Also, many tend to view the Light and Dark Side somewhat more leniently than the Jedi, though they do root out any true evil. This allows the main character to start out neutral, and possibly even introduce a new storyline that if the character should fall to the Dark Side, his original order would attempt to hunt him down, considering it their responsibility to remove the blight they had created. Anyway, if the protagonist were to start in one, I would, depending upon the identity and philosphy of his order, recommend his initial powers (if any) to be of the same vein, i.e. all buffs, all defense, all non-combative, etc.
  23. I havent looked at the Call of Cthulu PnP books, but considering the material from which they are inspired, they should fit the bill. I have been looking over it in the last few days and I also think the new WoD would work, though only the core WoD, Vampire, and Werewolf books are currently available. The new Mage book is supposed to come out in late August, if that matters to the campaign you are creating. To be honest, though, any system would work with sufficient GM effort, some (such as the ones mentioned above) are simply easier to adapt. Also in the thread of Ender's contribution: List of Mythological Demons. Christian and otherwise.
  24. Ha. If anything, the PC version has more bugs than the Xbox version. For every one it attempts to fix, it adds several more.
