  1. I don't like Tatooine. Boring and over visited planet. Sometimes I think I like ESB best simply because the sand ball doesn't appear in that movie. If there has to be a movie planet, it should be Coruscant as the initial world before the free travel parts. Yavin 4 might work as well as Korriban/Dxun type planet.
  2. Hmm, I thought everybody and their dogs had already seen it as it is not exactly a new one. Even this version is an upgraded one. Better compression, fixed music credits and added those tiny scenes with the photo. Looks like effects tweaked slightly as well.
  3. I recently made it and needed some place appropriate to show it off so I started posting here again :D It's from Art of the Saber in case someone hasn't seen that fan clip.
  4. Lies! All lies! Exile is a guy, though. My favorite theory still is that Malak tried to shave with the 'saber. Only Kyle Katarn is cool enough to trim his beard with a lightsaber.
  5. I don't care if George Lucas himself came in here and said that Palpy lost on a purpose. That idea just sounds too silly for me. Forget your simplistic more powerful-less powerful jedi scale. Different people are good at different things. Mace's speciality happened to be fighting. His henchmen went down a bit too fast, though. I like to think that Palps clouded their minds with his sith aura, or something similar, but it didn't work on Mace.
  6. Fan film called "Art of the Saber" by Ho brothers. Shouldn't be hard to find. I think it was described as lightsaber fight done Hong Kong style.
  7. Heh, one of the few Superman comics I happen to have (I'm more of a Marvel fan and think Superman is largely a boring character). Some crippled guy took over his body and went on a power trip on that one.
  8. A light sider of my own tradition, though maybe I'll get me one of them snazzy lightsabers.
  9. Matter of opinion. I might be in the minority in this, but I like Dooku's elegant style better than Maul's bit excessive one.
  10. When you force pull someone, your character should shout "Get over here!"
  11. Based solely on how they fight in the movies, I got to say that Dooku has most class at least. I wouldn't have minded him having a bigger role.
  12. Ragdolls - Yes Some physics eyecandy - Yes Truly interactive physics - Would be tricky Geomod terrain - No "Only if it doesn't interfer with the game play and time permits."
  13. I'm kind of partial to the basically cylinder shaped ship like Carrack-class light cruiser. Very fast for a capital ship and decent firepower and armor for its 350 meter frame. Dreadnaught cruiser is pretty cool too but old and inefficient and the rebel upgrade, Assault Frigate looks goofy. Then there's Correlian Gunship the fast Old School rebel ship with lots of anti-starfighter guns, Interdictor Cruiser which manages to be pretty sleek looking despite those gravity well projectors, and the basic ISD's are pretty cool as well. So the wedge shape isn't bad either. Nebulon-B is nice if somewhat impractical looking, and Corellian Corvette looks good when viewed from front angles. Mon Cal cruisers are, as it was said here, converted yatchs originally built for exploring the galaxy. Not altogether unpleasant, but not my favorite ships. Of KotOR ships, I really like the Republic Hammerhead Cruisers, like the Harbringer. It's a distinctive style that still echoes Star Wars. Many SW games have the bad guy fly around with a SSD variant of some kind and they generally look silly. In K2's case it's Ravager which I kind of liked. Managed to get sort of proto-SD look really well.
  14. And people who dress their pets deserve to be shot. Personally, the most annoying character for me is young Anakin played by that Lloyd kid. Jar-Jar and Gungans are OK in small doses like in AotC, Ewoks I dislike and Jabba's muppet show was pretty stupid even before remaking it to be even sillier.
  15. MotS could be better if you count the third party maps and mods, but "out of the box" JK:DF2 is the best of the series. I don't much care about these new Quake 3 based versions, mainly because that engine doesn't support my choice of controls very well while DF2 did so perfectly. The only thing that really matters for me where the newer versions are better than DF2 is multiplayer. That peer to peer code was just horrible.
  16. ...your flashlight breaks and you start walking around the neighborhood, trying to do "quests" to be awarded with a replacement part.
  17. This is roughly how it was. Can't go fully into details of if the Republic and Order were completely destroyed, but at least the Sith were pretty much running the show at period around 2000-1000 BBY until they started fighting eath other too much and the Jedi beat them. Source: The Dark Side Sourcebook.
  18. An ability to transform into a vehicle is insignificant next to the power of the Force.
  19. GL wrote SotE overall story? That would explain why it was so throughoutly marketed: novel, kiddie novel, video game, comic, soundtrack, 2 RPG sourcebooks and I believe there was toys too. I would like to see some links about this before I believe it completely, though. The thermal detonator as seen in RotJ and SotE seems to be a kind of suicide device for creating mexican standoffs. Not meant to be thrown, but I guess it could be used for demolition. When SW based games needed a grenade, they used TD, even though there is another alternative that was less visible in the films: That grenade luke uses to destroy an AT-AT with.
  20. The Noghri had been exploited like this for decades and were blisfully unaware of it. If it wasn't for fortunate set of coincidences, they would have remained so. Also, he did figure out there was something wrong with Noghri. He was just too preoccupied by other matters to check it out in time. Another fortunate coincidence.
  21. Yes, good analysis. What biases me to Thrawn's side is that we are mainly just told afterwards that Revan was master strategist, while we get to actually see Thrawn being one.
  22. That's why I'm speaking about cutscene in original JK, not gameplay. Don't know what he meant, though.
  23. I think he means that it's completely urbanized. Wouldn't necessarily have to be considering that Nal Hutta wasn't the original Hutt homeworld and they slowly turned Nar Shaddaa into their spaceport after they moved in. Still, the buildings look even bigger in DF2 beginning cutscene than in K2 landing cutscene, or it could just be my impression.
  24. But it did. Winter, long supply lines, and Hitler's meddling did do their substantial part in stopping the Germans, but it was the Russians who pushed them back.
