Lots of questions, there are just no simple answers to them. It was nice to see my family again after so many years. But I feel homesick for Queensland and have spoken to recruiting companies to get them to keep an eye out for opportunities. I hope to be able to return "home" after New Year (job market in QLD depending of course, it IS the backwater part of Australia) My Danish is Ok. Took a few months to get used to and I still get the grammar wrong with the off English word or sentence construct sneaking its way in. I did stay in touch with my family, first over MSN Messenger and later Skype regularly, keeping I my Danish skills current over the decades

Hi! Indeed! With a Pale Elf etc. you'd want to focus on fire and ice spells. I think I mentioned the crossed patch (unique headgear), too. It comes from a stronghold adventure and makes you immune to blindness. It's perfect for a Pale Elf who likes to stand in their own Chillfog (no blindness from it then. Also Rymrgand's Mantle would be great for auch a Wizard. It's a random drop. Of you use this with Chillfogs and outer ice spells they will heal your endurance instead of harming you (if you have enough freeze DR). But your health will suffer nonetheless. Therefore it's very good to use Infuse with Vital Essence to heal your health back up, too. You have to check which spells you would like to use (for example Chillfogs) and which defense they target. Chillfogs targets fortitude, so you want that high. But if you want to blast Fireballs without regretting standing in their AoE you need high Reflex (and Burn DR), not high Fortitude.

That is not true. They stack multiplicatively/probabilistically. 30% (Berserker) and 25% (Fighter) and 15% (one handed style) would result in ~59% overall. That is because the game goes through every applicable conversion ability you have, one after the other, and tries a conversion roll. If that's successful the process stops and the conversion happens. With applicable I mean if you roll a hit the habe will only go through the conversions for hits. And then it's done. So only one conversion can happen! The game doesn't allow graze to hit and then again hit to graze. Only one conversion. So even 100% graze to hit + 100% hit to crit on a character cannot convert all the way from graze to crit. Exception: if one conversion happens on the character's side and the next one on the enemies'. Example: a Fighter with Confident Aim attacks a paralyzed target. He rolls a graze, but it gets converted to a hit. That hit gets "applied" to the enemy and because the enemy is paralyzed (25% hit to crit received) the habe checks conversion again and in this case it works and the hit gets converted to a crit. I guess all conversions get put in an array, list or directory in the order they were achieved. And then the game loops through the array and checks every conversion effect on you in that order - it will use the first conversion that rolls successfully. I don't think they get sorted (like hit to graze first and then hit to crit conversions). But I cannot say for sure.

Non-bug Bugs i found so far
NukeGoose replied to NukeGoose's topic in Grounded 2: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
when buggy is in base, either after loading in to save file or sleeping, buggy will consistently move to the foot of the bed. with my base being off ground he clips through the floor and wont move other than violently shaking. have only found 3 methods to fix. send to nest-works half the time. walk away and whistle him to follow-usually works if i de-render him. mount buggy and dismount, then wait for him to bounce off of you, this unsticks him and makes you stuck but if you remount buggy you are both free.-this happens often but not every time. has only happenned with red ant so far. -
ive had this happen as well. took many times of reloading the save to before collapse of the base to notice that somehow they supporting foundation had shifted to a different one and adjusting anything on this new one caused it all to collapse. i fixed this by adding a new supporting foundation and watched the number of supported items change to the new one.

Mutation kills won’t progress
NukeGoose replied to Mortazah_Morty's topic in Grounded 2: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
it may also be worth noting that kills from spicy or shattered proc dont give credit to the weapon used unless the weapon got the final hit. so trinkets that apply effects can steal the kill, or some weapons with built in effects can prevent the kill count. for instance using the coaltana to kill spiders, if the sizzle builds up enough to deal tick damage and gets the last damage on spider it wont count as a sword kill. so using arrows if you use a trinket that applies one of these effects it may not count. havent tested this on effect arrows yet.(spicy/venom arrows etc) -
Non-bug Bugs i found so far
NukeGoose replied to NukeGoose's topic in Grounded 2: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Buggies have an attatchment issue. after dismounting buggies they try to get right on top of you. when you move away they try again. this is extremely annoying when trying to harvest something the buggy cant like t2 weeds or pine needles, milk molars, quatzite, marble etc. while trying to break them the buggy moves on you preventing the harvest action.-happens every time. i realise you can hop off buggy and tell it to stay but its already trying to move to you at that point. they need a 5 meter or so follow distance(wont move to you until 5m away and wont come within the 5m) -
Non-bug Bugs i found so far
NukeGoose replied to NukeGoose's topic in Grounded 2: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
when venom stacks high enough to actually cause full venom bar if you hop on your buggy(i specifically used orb weaver) you stop taking damage. if you maintain on your buggy until venom is clear and then get off, your screen maintains the visual effects of full venom. as well when hopping back on buggy it clears but only while on buggy. orb weaver then gains the ability to jump several times higher(tested jumping up the grey bricks near statue outside fence and was successful). orb weaver doesnt take fall damage from new jump height even though a fall from shorter distance would stun it-repeatable -tested random sound glitch may occur when hopping on and off buggy quickly while in a tunnel or underground. this makes it to where when you resurface all sound seems like its got the cave echo effect(sounds like you are still underground)-was able to repeat but not consistently when upgrading floors of a base that there is nothing below, materials from previous floor fall down instead of staying above. this doesnt seem to occur with foundations unless half or more of the foundation has a gap under it. also occurs when recycling items placed on the floor that has no ground under it.-annoying for bases built up instead of ground level-consistently reoccurs. when dismounted from buggy while jumping, either on purpose or because you get knocked off, if your character falls onto the buggy you take extra damage. have noted going from full health to 10 when dismounted mid air only buggy jump height above ground. 2 instances of respawning at base and watching the bag icon fall through the world and reappear back at onboarding where the repair would put it, but 1 m underground. using game repair doesnt bring it up to surface, assuming this is because game thinks its already there. had to reload game to fix. raw science orb underground near western picnic table milk molar. its in a cave that requires red ant buggy and the only thing in here is the raw science. if you approach it you can see the edge of the raw science, if you angle character just right to look under the floor you can see it and note theres nothing below it so theres not another tunnel to bring you to it. when looking outside maintenance yellow tape border you can see floating water droplets. im assuming this is where grass is but the grass is not showing because its under development. have noticed the same phenomenon if you build where grass was. occasionally water droplets will spawn mid air where grass used to be. related to above water droplet behaviour i have noted several instances of smacking grass and the water droplet not falling. then if you harvest the grass, the water remains floating as if its attatched to a point in the game instead of to the grass.-happens randomly and hasnt happenned to the same grass piece twice in a row yet. randomly some cassette tapes dont play. this is my 2nd playthrough and they played before. even making sure no other dialogue is happenning doesnt prevent it. however, the icon for having found the cassette stays on the screen for as long as the messages normally play and theres a click when it dissapear as if the recording shut off. -
Armor Upgrades
Greg Avila-Stanes replied to Greg Avila-Stanes's topic in Grounded 2: Feedback & Suggestions
Or even to make it simpler why not have Tiers 1 thru 5 of each weapon/armor but as part of the Tier 2 recipe you must have an upgraded Tier 1 of the same type with some kills/hits taken to its name. Just so the Early tiers aren’t worthless as it seems they are replaceable so quickly I mean even on WHOA! I’m at tier 2 in less than the first hour of game play. -
Setting suggestion roach phobia
Giantkiller130 replied to winterwarbler's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
I feel the same way, it is the only bug in the game that I have to basically run from because I’m so scared. I blindly ran through some of the later parts (where you absolutely have to kill more to progress) and it’s been hell. Ironically enough, the first game I never finished because of the spiders but this game has more of them and I’m over that -
Hello. My apologies for 'necroing' this build. I've been looking for melee wizard builds and I've found the megathread. I was checking most guides and they're aiming at POTD solo and I haven't played this game in years... So I was looking for a regular party game in normal or hard. I do like the variant you posted, the pale elf one since I like how they lok plus the fire res benefit. Overall this is the guide explained in the most comprehensive and friendly way for someone like me and I like how easy you marked the dangers, strategies and spells to pick... So I thought this was perfect for me. I was wondering if the spells are the same if you take a pale elf with fire/ice or if I have to focus on ice damage gear and ice spells? I doubt the corrosive build would be viable on a pale elf as it is and, sadly, my game knowledge is not that good! What should be the priority if you cant to be an ice/fire melee wizard? Thanks a lot

Trying the Terror from the Void mod for Phoenix Point. I don't think I'll last long enough to see if any of the changes/additions from the mod are any good. The changes to classes and skill trees gets a meh - whatever rating on the internationally recognised melkathi scale*. The non-vanilla human enemies, where every group of scavengers, every squad of jericho troops, has a leader granting an ability to their team, and they all have cringeworthy squad names gets a please go back to writing Harry Potter fanfiction rating. Adding npcs to staff the initial base instead of having everything AI run, gets a thumbs up. But is that enough to get me to care? * often described as a jaded, grimdark version of the popular BruceVC game rating system. Just from the perspective that people are useless amateurs until proven otherwise.

The All Things Political Topic - What's Going On...?

So Patel's FBI is probably going to start profiling trans people soon, I am figuring. Also, laughing at people outraged over Psaki saying "thoughts and prayers" are not enough -
I definitely want Soulblade. It is amongst my favourite subclasses, and I never played it with an AOE weapon, and I never played a WOTEP watcher either. I considered ranger also because of Beast's Claw (and stalker). It could certainly get away with the great sword modal more easily than most combinations (which works on SA damage, if I'm not mistaking). Stalker/Soul Blade sounds pretty fun considering this, and the watcher could actually deal damage with offensive parries while buffing up the animal companion so it can take a bit more punishment. I could get even more focus from the stealthed opening shots of The Red Hand with Driving Flight too. Typing this out, I might just have found my build. Probably still a lot weaker than mindstalker, but thematically I absolutely love it Goes really well with an offensively built herald too (kind wayfarer + troubadour), the bear would get a lot of extra armor and easy heals from white flames. Then Edér for the extra pet slot + Heart Defender Scales, a celebrant and a ranged striker (hard for me to not pick seer or wildrhymer, but maybe I'll try geomancer Maia or a Frostseeker savage).

Was followed around by a ****roach whilst building a base at the bottom of one of the trees. Kept making purring like sounds. Made me just want to pet it. Would be great to pet random bugs that are docile. Edit: P. S. You need to sort your forum filter out as it filters part of the name of an actual insect.

Odd glitch, my friend came on last night and I ended up being assigned his buggy and also the other person's buggy (who wasn't on last night). So basically I gained two extra buggies that were originally my friends and had to go get a replacement red ant egg to get them a new buggy. Anyone else experienced this? Tried revering to older save but it didn't make a difference.

Friendship's Due Trask Bug

I can't believe devs simply ignored that bug. Very disappointing. It comes as a default bug in Spacer's Choice version. -
I think there should be an Encyclopedia mod, so that Deadfire mechanics are easily understandable. What would you want to add or change? Here were my thoughts: + Encyclopedia - Stun - -10 Deflection (not -10 All Defenses) + Encyclopedia - Action Speed - same as attack speed, both attack and recovery or reload time. Can cast while reloading. + Encyclopedia - Healing - doesn't predict amounts due to bonuses, and the real adjusted amounts don't even show in the combat log + Encyclopedia - Stacks - each stack has a separate duration, and when full, older stacks are not replaced until one expires. Stacks add to the current bonuses, they do not count as a re-application of the same effect. + Encyclopedia - Duration - increases with enchantment level (fine, etc.,), intelligence, resolve, on tick ticks explained, DoT formula bad + Encyclopedia - Summon - only one summon at a time, character level scaling + Encyclopedia - Damage Shield - if two stacking shields, both removed by same damage + Encyclopedia - Threatened - super technical way that it actually works + Encyclopedia - Prone - length of knockdown, interrupts attacks and spells which causes their resource used to be lost + Encyclopedia - Damage per second - ticks first, so there's always 1+t ticks + Encyclopedia - Damage over time - if no tick ("per seconds") then the formula is different and screws bonus damage + Encyclopedia - Veil-Piercing - Only guns and weapons with veil-piercing enchantments can pierce the veil. + Encyclopedia - Equipment > Ingredients (Rarest) - Adra Ban (heavily limited) > Emerald > Antler + Encyclopedia - Ability Level, see also Power Level + Encyclopedia - Power level should say exactly what it usually effects + Encyclopedia - Hits converted to Crits - (need to test more) Only one upgrade or downgrade is possible, so misses --> grazes --> hits doesn't happen (what's the priority? Hits to Crits vs Hits to Grazes? Hostile vs non-hostile effects? Temporary vs permanent effects? How do they stack and trigger w/ each?)
-
Hey Heroes, I was wondering if anyone here has done really good testing of the bonuses for hits to crits, hits to grazes, grazes to miss, etc. My Current Beliefs From Experimentation: They don't stack probabilistically, but additively. Your total chance for the bonus is one single bonus: (50% Hits to Crits + 50% Hits to Crits = 100% Hits to Crits, not 75% [0.50 + 0.50 - 0.50 x 0.50]). 100% Grazes to Hits and 100% Hits to Crits? This didn't upgrade grazes to crits. Does anyone also know if this is true, and know of any other ways they interact? Untested, Possibly Different Scenarios: Passive: 100% Hits to Grazes, 100% Hits to Crits (which one triggers? Latest passive equipped? Always a bias towards grazes? Passive: 100% Hits to Grazes, Duration: 100% Hits to Crits

An option to mute your buggy
Alynxkia replied to MrGrumpyPants's topic in Grounded 2: Feedback & Suggestions
I will second that motion. I’m also fine with there being a slider in the sound options as even just decreasing the buggy sounds by 50% would be nice. I’m pretty sure i would prefer mute but I’m sure some players enjoy their buggy making noises.- 1 reply

Grounded 2 Feedback

Can we get our hauling strength and stacking back. I remember in the first game with my mutations and red ant armor I could carry 20+ planks and stems. With the ant mount it would make since that I would be able to move more material.
