Each time you eat something, there is a short timer before you can eat more. I feel like it's a little long, since the animation is over long before the timer runs out, but that's not the main topic of this. The main issue I have is that when you eat something while in the inventory, the timer doesn't progress. Well, sometimes it does, but mostly not. This means if you eat something in your inventory, you then have to go OUT of the inventory to let the timer pass, then go back IN again to eat more. This mostly affects the intended to be useful 'eating while riding your buggy' ability, which you have to do from your inventory. It feels all kinds of annoying to want to refill your health by eating a few granola bars, only to have to click in and out of the inventory to let your character actually do it. Worse, there is no visible timer when you're on bug-back, so if you click back in too soon, you have to click out again and wait the half second or however much you missed it by to eat another item. This timer needs to pass faster, and it needs to pass while eating items from the inventory screen, at least when not in combat, so people aren't using food to cheese their way through fights. If the food timer works as it currently does *while in combat*, that is fine and makes sense. Out of combat it just makes the simple process of topping off your health tedious as heck.

Tiberian Sun was the first truly "mass hype" I experienced. If you discount the school yard nerd excitement over Zak McKracken as the "not quite sequel" to Maniac Mansion, but that was contained to that, school yard 1980s Commodore nerds. Tiberian Sun though? Was all over the gaming press, the WWW was also a thing already. Germany's PC Games ran specials months before release. Tiberian Sun turned out a pretty alright game (no Starcraft / Warcraft 3 though). But it's also the first that didn't quite live up to all the hype for me. In the end, it was merely another C&C. Even the pre-release screenshots were faked. Some backlash was naturally inevitable. Still, it's..... ok! As to be expected, that commercial is far more "original" and the bolder take tho.

I have the post for November with another ad already planned The UK at the time had good video game ads. I remember watching those when I was in Birmingham at uni.

South Africa is a terrible example for illustrating the sanctity of flags. One day burning an orange white and blue flag was sacrilege and everyone should be singing Die Stem, the next burning a red white yellow black and green flag was sacrilege and everyone should be singing Nkosi Sikelel iAfrica. -

I would appreciate an option to be able to mute my buggy so I don't have to listen to nonstop Ant noises whenever I jump off to use my bow or pick up resources or when it's just hanging around the camp.

Hey Kvellen Think I ran into a problem with 1 of your mods. Late Winter Early Seeker, and I'm a good bit into the game. Completed Hasongo, got the quest, and since it was still early on, I decided to hold off a bit. I went down into the hold of Defiant, talked to the Steward, and saw the container... but didn't click on it. So, fast forward about 20-30 hours later in the game and I'm finally ready to do Seeker, Slayer, Survivor, so I go down into the ships hold, but the container is no longer there. So then I realized, "Hang on, I did buy a new ship between then and now, Duh!", so I went back and got in Defiant to find it. Sailed out into open seas just to be sure, but it's not there either. No container in hold. Can't think of anything else I did otherwise. My journal is still at the "Open the strange package you found on your ship" stage. Do you think I should just wait till after I progress the story past the default stage for this quest? I think it's the 'He Waits In Fire" main quest. Thanks.

Random video game news... RNG is your friend!

Non-GPU griping news: You can apparently now build an entire ship in No Man's Sky, walk around in it, use it as a mini-flying base (I guess?), and leap into space out of it. I've downloaded the update but haven't turned it on yet. If one can build a decent mini-base sized ship that doesn't fly/handle/land like the Titanic, it'd be my dream. No need for a freighter then. It'd be nice if they put the build-station in Abandoned Mode too, but probably not. Hasn't happened yet, but by the time Light No Fire releases, NMS may/is gonna need a new PC to run it well/max. It's not really that deep a dive but if one wants to hear him talk about it a little. -

I'd still rather be able to have mostly High, a few Med settings (highest textures and draw distance is my main "must") and not use DLSS at all, even with enforced RT lighting (not full path tracing) but it has advanced enough that Quality-DLSS is acceptable in most cases. Balanced degrades noticeably to my eyes and anything below that is still UghNope-Killitwithfire (on the 55"). I might accept 18-Vram if that became a thing and the price was right, but I definitely want more than 16 re: a new gpu. -

I know the SA scaling with rogue is great, I just wanted to do something different this time. Might just do it like that I guess. I've read your build guide, and I agree its a great build I really shy away from most classic casters in crpgs, I just enjoy strikers more. I love chanter/cipher in PoE a lot luckily. I haven't had a single wizard/cleric/druid in my 5-6 POTD runs so far Even if I do go for a caster eventually, I don't want to use Salvation of Time or Wall of Draining. It just feels super cheesy to me.

The 3060 only had 12gigs because at the time, the alternative would have been 6gigs (memory interface limitations). And that apparently Nvidia didn't want. So you had this weird line-up where the 60 card had more VRAM than even the 3080 (a model with 12GB launched much later in 2022). Now that 3GB GDDR7 chips are a thing, it may be easier to release 12, 18, 24 GB cards. But yeah, custom models would be actually useful now, if they were allowed to also go with custom memory configurations. Like back then, a 8400GS variant optionally going with more VRAM than the 8800 Ultra (kidding, that was a complete waste, naturally). With a 3070, I'd also try to sit it all out until the PS6, at least the official spec announcement (and build from there). In terms of raw performance, you're still better off than a base PS5 (ca. RX 6700 non-XT, as said) and close enough even to the Pro (ca. 5060Ti). 8GB may mean reduced settings (textures and the like). But they're still officially supported by any game. (Until the PS5 launched, 2+3GB were still supported, even in MS Flight 2020, Red Dead 2, etc.) "Fake" anything has been a thing on consoles since forever. I think with UE5 and the like (and diminishing returns in terms of raw performance), it's here to stay. Actually, Nvidia's CEO proclaimed as such back in 2022ish on a keynote: Raytracing et all is really demanding, so they needed another "breakthrough": DLSS (upscaling, Frame Gen). I'm going to DLSS4 upscale the heck out of the 3060 if needed, as thankfully, even from 720p as the internal base to upscale from (1440 Performance mode / 1080p Quality mode) it's useful now. And Nvidia actually provided the DLSS4 upscaler even for legacy models, including RTX 2.... Nvidia, of all things! -
I'm not afraid of them or anything, but man... there seems to be at least ten spiders near me at any given moment in the game right now. If not full adults, then the younger and baby ones, all over the place, all the time. Only ants seem to outnumber them, emphasis on 'seems to'. And it doesn't make sense. If you think about it, the number of spiders would need enough other creatures to feed them all in the park, which there doesn't seem to be enough of. Mites, Aphids and Weevils are in short supply, though there are some around. Everything else is as likely to kill the spiders as the spiders are to kill them, with some being highly likely to do so. Even the ants, which could be killed, tend to work together enough to make fights too risky; spiders wouldn't willingly crawl into an ants nest in RL by a long shot. There needs to be a larger range of non predator insects added to the mix for this number of spiders to make sense. And though I know it's meant to be part of the flow of the game, I don't think the spiders would be reproducing like that with the lack of food insects for them to feed off of. It would just cause starvation, or for them to have to eat their own young to survive. Granted Ominent could have been influencing things to have more predators in the park to experiment on, but I don't know about that. ^^;

Mandible Enhancements It's hard to believe Ominent wasn't researching ways to militarize the bugs they were trying to tame. This idea could come in great for the kids, as they could find things to lead them to this. Similar to the Omnitool, these would be wearable chomper enhancements that would allow the bugs to do more. I always kinda disliked having to climb on and off the bug to harvest certain things, and this would be a way to allow that. The Ant would get cutting and digging enhancements because pincers, while the spider would get biting or stabbing enhancements because fangs. This would also let buggies specialize into varying things. Barding You know how you can customize your SCAB.E and Omnitool? Why not the bugs too? Add a feature that allows the bugs to be decked out in either decorative barding, or something that provides a little more protection. If protection is also included, there can be bonuses (increased defense, spiky reflected damage, harder stun through helmets) and negatives (slower movement speed, reduced carrying capacity, less jumping ability. Patrolling Ants tend to be steady workers, always roaming about looking for food and other things. This would be a useful addition to the game. When the player has multiple ants, they can set some of them to farm for resources in the area. A dump chest can be added just for them, and they will roam around, hunting Aphids, cutting grass or sticks and stocking the storages and fighting off random invaders in the area. The zone they would patrol would be centered on the dump chest. The same could be set up for spiders, but in a more predatory manner, mostly hunting various bugs to keep your food stocked. Item Deposit Similar to how you can summon and send your buggy to and from the nest, add a command that sends them on a round trip. Once they have enough in their inventory, they can be sent back to deposit that stuff, then return. The trip would have a certain time for them to be gone and come back, based on how far the trip is, during which they would be unavailable. This would use a similar 'dump chest' concept to the patrolling idea... a large storage they would deposit things in before returning to the player. Types of Buggies for the Future Grasshoppers, Jumping Spiders (the cute, friendly ones), Crickets, Moths, Rhino Beetles, Dragonflies, Stickbugs (purely for the meme... 'get stickbugged, lol'; could have it randomly do the back and forth dance they do sometimes)

I had most fun with the WotEP when I used it with a Steel Garrote/Bloodmage. I didn't use it to deal AoE damage but to drain health from melee enemies at the same time as casting spells (and using Blood Sacrifice). With Offensive Parry you daze enemies automatically which unlocks the Steel Garrote drain. You can then "passively" parry melee enemies and gain health from that and don't need to take action to heal yourself so often (good for your action economy). Against single targets (or when I wasn't tanky enough with the WotEP) I used Concelhaut's Draining Touch with the Grimoire switching trick so the Draining Touch never goes away during fights (with a large shield of needed, else with a club+modal in the offhand to lower enemies' Will for the Draining Touch (targets Will instead of deflection). This is also a great weapon setup in combination with Miasma + Ryngrim spells against mobs: they disengage and get wrecked by the hefty disengagement attacks which drain health (Draining Touch + Garrote). Again: disengagement attacks don't use any action time so you can cast spells instead. Obviously this isn't really a melee character in the traditional sense. It's more like a way to deal weapon damage and heal in the process without wasting action time but use this to cast (more) spells. While casting spells with you as the center (like Torrent of Flame for example) I really like Inspired Beacon (one of the few characters where I felt it was worth its heal cost). Naturally an Arcane Knight can become very tanky because of the combination of self buffs + Paladin passives. Not a striker though, so maybe it's not fun for somebody who likes to strike actively - then the aforementioned Soulblade/Trickster ist much better and also fun to play.

https://www.barrons.com/news/s-african-court-finds-radical-politician-guilty-of-hate-speech-c0784bef Julius Malema has been found guilty of hate speech, lovely. Long overdue but better late than never. Its his party that sings the song " kill the Boer, kill the farmer " " At a rally in 2022, Malema referred to a fight two years prior between members of his EFF party and white parents at a school accused of holding a whites-only dance party, telling his supporters that "killing is part of a revolutionary act" and "you must never be scared to kill Seized by the South African Human Rights Commission, the Equality Court ruled Wednesday that Malema's remarks "constituted hate speech... as they demonstrated a clear intention to incite harm and to promote or propagate hatred". The remarks were an "exhortation to kill white males who had participated" in the 2020 incident and to respond violently to racist behaviour, the ruling said." -

I would love a way to lock the hot pouch to where it will not remove whatever is in your hot pouch. I don't know how many times I have accidently dropped a weapon or healing potions into a chest without knowing it. Since I am a builder with a chest for every type of resource.. I have to go from chest to chest just to find it. What about ya'll?

Since shells disappears now, could you add a way to build them? Sad about losing decorations. With the opening facing diagonally down for a light to go in the opening.

Far as I'm concerned, it's very intentional. And yes I know re: bus size, ddr capacity etc. being limiting factors. Hence, "design better." 6070-6080 should be 16gb vram minimum. I suppose the xx60 could remain at 12. If 60xx generation has any 8gb cards I'll roll my eyes pretty hard. Just me tho. edit: I personally want 24gb min, which is why I keep looking at the xx90's. -

That’s intentional though, no? With 12GB of VRAM or more my 3070 (allegedly) would still perform quite alright. Put just enough of VRAM for now on midrange GPUs and they will be outdated in a couple of years. Personaly I will be waiting for “the game” to upgrade my set up. It was lovely to have a massive backlog of cheap games to play when I build my current rig. And yeah, I don’t find current GPU offering to be of a particularly a good value.
