Ok, I went into every build thread on the list again and marked every build entry in the list accordingly (if the conditions were met). What do you think know?

Like the tags, they stand out really well and are unlikely to cause confusion. Keep up the good work!

Hi. Could the builds be in chronological order so it was easier to check if there's new builds available? Or at least a date of the latest update would be nice.

The patch version is listed with every build. If you seek only builds with a certain patch, e.g. 1.2, then you can simply hit ctrl+f to open the browser's site-search and type "Game Version: 1.2" into the search field. You can then jump through every build for patch 1.2. Same with builds for companions (search "Pallegina for example"). Or solo builds (search "Solo: Yes").

It's quite simple and effective.

I will not put the builds in chronological order - because this order may change often: as soon as somebody updates his/her build. That would mean I would have to go and check all builds all the time (or receive messages about that) and then I'd have to manually re-order them accordingly. Please understand that I don't want to do that. :)

Unfortunately I can't use Javascript and HTML in my posts. Then I could provide a sortable list. But as it is I can only use the static bbcode that the forum allows.

The list is quite fine now but I suggest to improve it to make it more useful: It's just impractical to memorize all latest version builds and try to remember which builds are new on next time when checking the build list. Also categorizing the builds by author might make the checking easier. There's just too many classes in the game to put them in class order.

And you ignored the date part that I suggested earlier. Even the date of latest modifying were a small improvement.

I think most people who search for builds might have a class in mind and want to check which builds for that class are available. So that's the order in which the class builds are put. For everything else one can use the site search.

Based on this assumption categorizing by author makes no sense. It's easy to use the site search to jump to builds of a specific author.

Game version is kind of a date. Adding a date like "last modified" would mean more editing work but not much additional information. If a build is updated to match the newest game version then it doesn't matter much if one build is from two days earlier than the other.

Keep in mind that I have to edit this all manually. And few people actually notify me but I have to check on the builds all by myself most of the time. Additional cause for more reoccurring editing work should be a substantial improvement.

Just because it would mean a substantial improvement to you doesn't mean it's for others as well. But if enough people chime in I will do it.

Improvements that just need one-time editing are not a problem.

@all: I'm thinking about a line with certain "tags" that show what role the build has, like <tank>, <melee>, <dps>, <cc>, <healer> and so on. It may take half of a day to add those to the existing builds - but at least it's a one-time thing and I believe it's useful. People could also put those tags when creating their build thread.

"Do it!" or "Drop it!"? :)

@Boeroer Thanks for the reasoning. And thank you for the huge effort also.

The extra tagging sounds good. Could you also add some "minor nerfed", "major buffed" tags when build is older, for example v. 1.0 etc? Some builds breaks while patch notes turns live but there are also some nerfs/buffs that would be nice to show up.

Hm... I already put a "deprecated" tag on a build once I see that a patch has a negaive effect on it. Or if people tell me that it is so. I think that covers 50% of your wish.

I don't know if we really need a "buffed" tag though. If a build is really working well it should usually get a lot of feedback ("hot" tag) or likes ("popular" tag).

Again for that I would have to go and check if a build got positively influenced by patches. Every time a patch hits. Too much work for me I guess. :)

What I planned was to go through the list after a major patch release (for example from 1.2 to 2.0) and blanket-tag all old (non-updated) builds with "deprecated". The author then can go and update it and I'll remove the tag or I'll remove the build at a certain point.

When I skim through the builds, I generally skim for (1) whether they stiil work (which the depricated tag flags), (2) whether they work solo (which the solo entry flags), and then (3) whether they offer the kind of play I'm currently looking to play (a melee tank, or glass cannon caster, or something that does/does not require a lot micro-management).  Some of the one-line descriptions tell you this, but it's not always clear. So this is the kind of thing that I, at least, would find useful.

(And thanks, by the way, for compiling this list and keeping it updated -- really helpful!)

Low effort for you and provides us more searching options.

Thank you. I will fix it. The forum editing function likes to revert links back to the original url if you copy and paste stuff. I don't even know how that's possible, but it happens all the time. Sorry.

Hey Boeroer,

I think we can remove the "deprecated" tag from the Lady of Pain for now. I won't be updating the build until all three paid DLCs are out and we're on 4.0, but it might be possible to make it OK without any mods or Berath's Blessings (although I'll use both in my every playthrough.)

Sure. I planned to scan all the builds in the list for changes on that front. I also noticed some other build crawled beyond that line. :)
