D:OS II

I was able to keep the cat alive as well.  I will say I struggle with one thing in this game as I have with the previous and that's to try and complete as many quests as I can.  So when you're given numerous choices of how to make it through Fort Joy, whether by force, tunnels, conversations, circumnavigating it altogether, etc, I'm constantly trying to do each one, knowing that I'm just needing to push on.  I have enjoyed the combat some more, with some expanded skills, but still want to dip into some more crafting as I didn't do much crafting in D:OS as well.

My party is doing well with Ifan as my main, The Red Prine, Lohse, and Fane.  Each one I kept in their associated roles, and it's been working out pretty decent so far.  Enjoying the conversations and the "tags" your character has and can receive by doing different quests differently.  Overall, about 11 hours in so far and really having a fun time.  Excited to keep progressing for sure.

I've played direct connection multiplayer the last couple of nights (the last session finishing just half an hour ago) with this method and it's worked without a hitch, not sure what else would affect it. I'm hosting and have forwarded ports 23243-23262, co-op buddy has not changed anything.

With new hotfix (yesterday) they fixed direct connections and some other issues.

Reached Alexander fight, tactician mode, completely solo.

Lacking 4k exp to level 8, at which the fight should be much easier.

But seems I've gained all exp I could get on the island, excluding quests from npcs if there are any...

I like the fact you can escape Fort Joy all the way to the Sanctuary without any fighting, but with the collar on...

Just overthinking strategy to do the Honor Mode... :)

Funny/irritating thing about that was that I actually had to rollback the hotfix (x.47) on Galaxy because my multiplayer partner was still on the older version (x.999). GOG had put the hotfix up on Galaxy, but not on the direct download page, so two as GOG players we ended up being unable to connect to each other. That'll teach me, after giving Galaxy another chance. Oh well, at least the problem's been solved one way or another. I do still have issues with the game occasionally failing to come back after tabbing out though. Almost as if the game was written on Gamebryo...

Man... you guys are making me want to get this game here and now lol

It's too bad -for me- that Sonic Forces and Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 are so close.

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest.

So far found some quests bugged due to poor sequence and realization...

Like:

"Finding Emmie"

"The Imprisoned Elf"

"The Tribe of Saheila"

"The Arena of Fort Joy"

"Withermoore's Soul Jar"

"Every Mother's Nightmare"

etc.

I hate when there are unfinished bugged quests in the journal, moreover quests I've completed right or quests that can be done in next chapter, but closing in previous chapter :)

Also cheesy fights, like with Alexander - I've managed to kill them just by kiting, it's easy to separate 2 out of 5 enemies just by putting barrel in the pathway... just little things that are a bit dumb but... Still playing the game

In fact.. many quests are bugged, the game feels raw. Alas QA did poor job :(

Here is the quests discussion at larian forum

Hopefully Deadfire QA will do better job :)

The method I used was equally cheesy for that fight; the Gloves of Teleportation in spite of having protection stats equivalent to wet tissue paper is worth retaining for the skill it provides alone, particularly for a ranged specialist who should be avoiding getting hit anyways. I also have my main put one point into Aerothurge for the skill, along with our Aerothurgy specialist who also has the skill. I just kept teleporting the enemy melee fighters 50 meters away from us, or in the path of the Voidworm that eventually shows up for that fight. Harder is the first Dallis fight, which can lead to one or two leveled and well-kitted out party members getting killed in the space of two turns. but I managed that by teleporting Malady to opposite sides of the ship from all the enemies.

Seems a bit odd that you can escape without knowing you've escaped.

Just randomly poking around the prison, poked at a grate, I'm outdoors in a new area. Cool, I'll go explore it I guess. After doing that I head back to town only to find some the magisters are now hostile and some NPCs are missing. Turns out exiting that grate magically informs everyone I've officially escaped and progresses the plot past a point of no return. Had to reload a save from a fair bit back, annoying. Don't get me wrong, I very much appreciate there being multiple routes to accomplish the escape, but in this situation it really should have been handled more gracefully. I mean, no one should even know that I'm gone yet.

...or upon killing all the guards between the Ghetto and

the Seeker Camp

being able to inform the rest of the imprisoned Sourcerers that it's a prison break.

A pity that Deadfire is focused only on singleplayer!

I wish there could be something like GM or Arena mode as in D:OS II

Hopefully some day they will make this possible... Eora world is awesome.

Had a bit of a "Holeee.... S***" moment when a decent portion through Act 2 I realised that...

Whichever companions you don't have with you on that first fight with Dallis are gone for good

Lol, just realized this after your post. I've done the fight solo, saw some casualties, but thought those were just Seekers :)

Nice turnover.

Geez... that bad? I guess I'm glad I opted for Lego Ninjago and Lego Marvel 2 instead! I'll follow the game and come back when bugs get straightened out.

Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother?

Dafuq.

Who am I kidding, I have terrible impulse control when I want something. I held out for three minutes.

I'm same way which is why I had to give myself a gaming "budget". I think it worked for the best lol
