Mamoulian War
Well, I am slowly getting less and less interesting to AAA titles because all of the handholding, bland MMO-like quests without descriptions, direct pointers to quest objectives, which cannot be turned off in most cases... Why they are bothering with the open world stuff, when all you need to do is blindly following the quest arrow? I do not see any difference compared to linear "follow corridor" games. Well maybe, when staff is busy with corridors only, they have more time to create more original quests, than kill 20 rats or bring me 20 rat pelts... 2 Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. I'm guessing he's talking bout since 8 where everyone looked and acted like they were part of a boy band and the amount of drama was in the story. They tried to go back to the roots of "medieval fantasy" with 9 (and imho did a great job) but was not well received, so the boy band "style" and the soap opera drama continued on to the later games.
WorstUsernameEver
FFXV is first FF introducing jpoop boyband party, so I do not understand your logic behind that question. Pretty boys with crazy hair styles and melodrama have been a mainstay of the series for as long as they had the ability to render that. I'd honestly even shove many of the beloved pre-7 titles in that same category. Personally, I find that kind of excessive cheesy with larger than life melodramatic stories delivered in hammy ways pretty entertaining, it's a not-so-guilty pleasure of mine, but I don't understand why anyone would indulge into the games if they hated that sort of stuff.
sorophx
I don't understand why anyone would indulge into the games if they hated that sort of stuff. I played all of the FF games strictly for its combat and summons in particular. I loved collecting those, it was my childhood's Pokemon of sorts. still remember how excited I was to get Ifrit for the first time in FFVIII. I can't believe it was almost 17 years ago. 1 Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. FF for me is all about combat, superbosses and summons. I have finished all FF games except FFIII, IV-After years and XII-Revenant Wings. Unfortunately FFXV has gone the action route, which I really hate, but I am still hoping that the game will not suck walrus balls. If I'll be disapointed, it will be last FF game, for which I will pay full price. Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. Lexx
Looks cheesy as hell. For Gothic and Risen it kinda still worked. But now? I dunno... It's funny, though, 10 or what years ago I was toying around with the idea to make a Gothic mod set in some kind of Highlander-like post apocalyptic world. It was set in a big old fortified skyscraper. People were using swords and bows and stuff. Hot air balloons in the sky, etc. I still like the idea, but today it's nothing fancy anymore.
