The Trump stuff, while entertaining, is starting to be worrying. Is this really going to be the candidate of a major political party? He's basically running opposite of everything Ronald Reagan stood for, which is odd considering Reagan is looked at so fondly by the Republican party. He genuinely seems to dislike the country. Yes, I'd say it's bad if you're desensitized to murder. But remember, in SA the natives kill the migrants, in US the migrants kill the natives.

 

Edit: So SA murder rate is 10 times the US one, and some claim it's actually underreported. Also a lot of US murders are gang violence between criminals.

I have been quite concerned about this whole " if I am desensitized to this number of murders...does this mean I may have some sort of mental block or hidden psychological problem"

 

I have been chatting  to some guys at one of my customers now  and basically asking  " how come we are almost nonchalant  about this appalling murder rate, one murder in Texas is enough to noticeably upset the residents there "

 

We all agree that all South Africans must be use to subconsciously desensitizing the crime, its a coping mechanism. And the way I see it if all of us are doing it then I shouldn't be worried about some sort of mental issue

But just to explain why this statement may seem valid but its not. In South Africa the reality is we have such high crime because of the long term impact of Apartheid and how it has impacted some black South Africans....so the people who commit this crime in SA are products of the psychological and insidious legacy of Apartheid. And most of the crime is against black South Africans

 

In the case of the refugees I will be honest...some of them due to years of exposure to war will be mentally unbalanced and yes they will also commit crime. But this will never be as severe as the impact of Apartheid which lasted 50 years

As long as the Supreme Court justices stay healthy. We are just one justice away from having the whole Constitution ruled unconstitutional.

Yes, and in the case of the Soviet Union and China also brought around an industrialization that benefited millions while ushering in scientific progress that outpaced the US for a time and Cuba has a medical system that outperforms the US(unless you happen to be well-off) to this day. He isn't wrong though, kids have turned to drugs and watch tv for hours on end to escape the drudgery of low paying jobs and crippling debts. Or has poverty been a communist plot to destrot America all along?
