WDeranged Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I find it quite distasteful when someone is banned from travelling to the UK because of their beliefs, Trump is a boorish loon but I can't support the idea.

PK htiw klaw eriF Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Looks like the Bern will stump the trump.Clinton will win, obnoxious liberals will praise this as a victory for progressivism, the right will be emboldened to support even stupider and more destructive economic policies, and the moderate to far left will continue to be completely irrelevant all the while being blamed for everything. More than likely, but I'm still holding out for Sanders v. Trump with Sanders grabbing the popular vote but Trump winning due to electoral tomfoolery. Meshugger Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Banning Trump from the UK would certainly show him that he is wrong on immigration. By targeting singular person that has accused to done something that should prevent him to come in UK instead of putting in general ban for all Americans for example? EDIT: Is this you saying that you don't support any form of bans for any people when it comes to matters of immigration? Or are you just saying that it is choice between no bans or banning whole groups of people? I was trying to use sarcasm to point out the irony of the situation. In other news: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-01-21/trump-fear-stalks-davos-as-elite-pray-for-spring-reality-check The World economic forum in Davos seems to fear Trump. Gfted1 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Speaking of economics, and having too much free time on my hands today, I decided to do a little napkin math: So there are 650 MP's in the House of Commons Each makes approximately £86,000 / year 650 x 86000 = £55,900,000 / year £55,900,000 / 365 days per year = £153,150 / day So it costs the good citizens of the UK £153000 per day for their elected officials to hurl petty schoolyard insults. That could buy a lot of upper lip stiffener! I hope the reach the conclusion that he is a Poopyhead and Boogereater before they spend too much. Oerwinde Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 I'm curious if Bernie is getting any sort of boost from refusing to engage in negative politics. Thats believed to be what drove Trudeau to victory in Canada. Rather than launch his own attack campaign he took all the Conservative attacks, and turned them around into positive things, and people responded to it. It's interesting because I was talking with a few friends about this earlier and most of them, who are also of the same mindset as I am, like that he doesn't go negative and more or less keeps it above board but there were a few others who thought he was weak or not serious because he doesn't go on the attack. Granted those friends don't support him at all and generally vote for the other major party. Those who thought it was a positive didn't think that it was enough to seriously sway their votes but those who thought it was a negative thought of it as a serious flaw. Also she isn't planning anything radical that may impact the USA economy, like Sanders and his dislike of big business and the financial sector And that doesn't mean she plans to target people like you ....your commitment to the overall economy and people like you are the foundation of what the USA is built on and despite right wing rhetoric this will never change Bruce I just can NOT fathom this infatuation you have with Hillary Clinton. Wrath of Dagon Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 (edited) A good article, a great article. http://theweek.com/articles/599577/how-obscure-adviser-pat-buchanan-predicted-wild-trump-campaign-1996 Sooner or later, as the globalist elites seek to drag the country into conflicts and global commitments, preside over the economic pastoralization of the United States, manage the delegitimization of our own culture, and the dispossession of our people, and disregard or diminish our national interests and national sovereignty, a nationalist reaction is almost inevitable and will probably assume populist form when it arrives. The sooner it comes, the better… The article is spot on, all over the West people have finally realized the elites have betrayed them. The conservative movement is now really corporatists, only worrying about the well being of fat cat corporations. Edit: Back when Buchanan ran, the issues were really different. We saw liberals as the big problem, after the disaster that was Jimmy Carter. Reagan got things going overnight, so conservatism was riding high. We didn't see the seeds of destruction that were already there, like the 1986 amnesty (even though Buchanan did). Also Buchanan was kind of scary, always defending old nazis and admiring hitler's foreign policy. Besides the closest equivalent to Trump back then was Ross Perot, who actually did quite well. I think Buchanan actually run later as the candidate of Perot's Reform party, and Trump wanted to run in 2000 in the same party, but there was some kind of issue with Buchanan. So this has been brewing for a while. Edited January 23, 2016 by Wrath of Dagon "Moral indignation is a standard strategy for endowing the idiot with dignity." Marshall McLuhan
