Yeah I am watching this story as I write It seems to have been a surgical attack by professionals. Seems to linked to ISIS, according to the French security services they have prevented several attacks recently but this one slipped through. Also this was pointed out that the attackers didn't want to necessarily kill innocents, they targeted people working for the newspaper only "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. Meshugger Posted January 7, 2015 Author Posted January 7, 2015 Most likely people returning from training in the Syria-region. Meshugger Posted January 7, 2015 Author Posted January 7, 2015 Two of the dead were apparently cops. The poor guys had little chance against assault rifles. As far as i can tell at the moment; there are two gun-men with kalashnikovs on the run in atleast one car. Enoch Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Obviously the only solution is for France to ban all weapons. Well, it probably makes more sense than arming copy editors would... 3
BruceVC Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Obviously the only solution is for France to ban all weapons. Come now Gfted1, this is no time to raise the ideological nonsense of the NRA The USA and France face different threats from fundamentalism due to their geography and political views and these threats need to addresses with that difference in mind "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. Malcador Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Obviously the only solution is for France to ban all weapons. If they had Predators overhead, those guys would never have made it. Meshugger Posted January 7, 2015 Author Posted January 7, 2015 12 dead now and 4 are still in critical condition. The inspiration of the threat is immaterial. If all weapons were removed from France this would never happen again. BruceVC Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 "Also this was pointed out that the attackers didn't want to necessarily kill innocents, they targeted people working for the newspaper only" People working at the newspaper were innocent. What a disgusting thing to say! Yes they were innocent but not to the attackers, they only targeted the newspaper. They didn't just plant bombs to kill anyone and everyone, like we see with other terrorist attacks like the 7 July 2005 London bombings "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. kirottu Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Wait, what? Are you trying to say these killings are somehow more okay? This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.

Woldan Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I wonder where they got that rocket launcher and fully automatic rifles. I gazed at the dead, and for one dark moment I saw a banquet.

Nonek Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Commiserations to the deceaseds families and friends, it seems such a trite and small thing to say, but there are of course no words or justifications for such an atrocity. Hopefully the magazine will recover and arise to champion free speech against the evil fanatics whom wish to silence it through the use of force of arms. 2 Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin. Tea for the teapot!
