Dragon Age: Inquisition

I can't help but feel somewhat incensed by the implementation of RNG for getting certain schematics as loot drops or in chests as well as the seeding of the Masterworking success, even if a part of me tells me that I shouldn't feel that way given that the Infinity Engine games totally did seeded unique loot drops.

Yeah, that's really annoying.

You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that?

I toyed with doing my second playthrough, this time as a mage, but I think I'm going to wait for the first big DLC before I  make a serious effort.

It was good, but I don't want to commit 100 hours to the same stuff. All I missed the first time was Dorian's quest and the secret dungeon from Emprise du Lion.

I guess that means I like DAO better. I was excited to do a second playthrough of that immediately after the first.

Which faction did you side with during your only play through?  Mages or Templars?

Because there's actually a bit of a difference to make a 2nd play through a bit of a change from the first.  Not a huge difference, but a difference (ie. different second in command to Corypheus to fight/learn about, extra backstory on Corypheus).

I was disappointed in the Celene/Gaspard/Briala choice though.  The only thing that changes is the slideshow at the end.  In-game, you don't see a single effect of choosing one over the other.

I don't see how Exalted Plains could change. The Templar/Mage quest, Haven battle, and Temple of Mythal are what I could forsee really changing. With some support quests like Samson's armor.

I'd be curious to hear what else, though.

Are you kidding? The Exalted Plains was the worst part of the game, it feels like the whole thing was designed by two divorced teams. You start the quest line at the end by doing everything before you even meet the quest giver and somehow troops magically appear when you call the horn, one wonders why the enemy didn't just call them out and kill them.

It had one of the dumbest quests ever (The Golden Hara) which is made worse by the fact that there are two other escort quests that are solved so much better; the druffalo and the ram ones.

The Exalted plains could have been fine if they just placed the camp in a place where the whole questline could have been presented in an organized manner and not backwards.

Really, BW should get its whole team at the same skill level because throughout the game I noticed major quality differences and not just from assets that have been reused from the first game but new ones.

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

I think you missed the context. We're talking about changes due to the Mage/Templar choice.

I suspect you think we're talking about how we would hypothetically change the game to improve it.

Stupid buggy game. My character's facial scar all of a sudden disappeared. Now they don't look menacing and tough any more.

Scars etc facial stuff is part of the mesh-setting in the graphics settings. If you turn it too low, they'll disappear. Putting it back higher will make them show again.

Ah so it wasn't a bug. Some how my graphical settings were at medium. Back to high and the scar is back.

I sided with the mages my first time, then the templars the second time.  I can't recall a single "oh, cool, this is different" moment in the Exalted Plains between my two play throughs.

The major difference is the sub-boss.  If you side with the mages, you get Samson.  If you side with the templars, you get Calpernia.  There's also a quest Leliana gives you that opens up a small area which allows you to learn more about Corypheus if you side with the templars (it's tied with Calpernia's backstory, so it's only available, AFAIK, if she's the sub-boss).  You also get a couple of War Board missions associated with the templars that you don't get with the mages (Fiona just kind of sits in Skyhold doing nothing).

Beyond that, I haven't noticed any real difference about how the other areas play out depending on your mage/templar choice.

I've sided with mages in one game and in the current game, sided with Templers. I found getting the Templers to be easier than the Mages. I found it harder fighting Alexius than the envy demon. Could be I was at a higher level in my current game. We'll see how it goes in the rest of the game.

You get it by siding with the Mages too, though the quests are given by Cullen and the area is different.

3DM saved me 60 bucks. DAI made me rethink my previous judgement and now I can say that Dragon Age II ws not a horrible game - it was a mediocre game. Because compared to DAI even DAII is great. Bioware simply have no idea how games work. This and plus retardo Gaider writing. ME WUNT TO B A DRAGUN: Open World edition.

3dm saved you $60? we googled "3DM" in reference to pc games and what we got is references to game cracks. you ain't saying you is playing a game without paying for it, is you? obsidian is understandably intolerant o' such stuff.  in fact, it were our understanding that one o' the Prime Evils that the mods were s'posed to squash on these boards is any advocacy o' piracy, implied or overt. advocacy o' piracy is one o' the few clear no-nos we got, yes?

perhaps you might wanna change story before some actual obsinate returns from holiday and notices your faux pas, and the inexplicable mod indifference.

HA! Good Fun!

You don't get the memory shards of Corypheus through the Samson quest line, do you?  I never came across them.  Only when doing the Calpernia "sidequest".

The stuff right above your replay includes talk about the Mage/Templar choice.

Little changes in Exalted Plains, I'm fairly sure. You get a special dialogue with the commanders to tell them the war is over.

I just learned that iron Bull is voiced by Freddie Prinze Jr. My mind is blown.

What gave it away? Was it when "Kiss Me" played when you were romancing him?

It says something about my view of Bio romances that I actually thought that was in the game somewhere.

He was also James Vega, it seems that he's a stand in for burly muscular BW characters.
