Usually that is used when someone's lying to themselves or something. Always true when one picks on others for their reaction to dissenting opinions

50% of IO Interactive staff laid off; from now on only makes Hitman games

Gotta keep growing. I mean, that unemployment statistic.

Either way, my condolences to the affected.

Luckily the unemployed rate for that kind of talent is pretty low here. But I gotta say Absolution was a pretty bad title, so I hope the smaller team means that some of the stupid fluff gets cut too.

Fortune favors the bald.

You are a brave man, expressing your condolences on this forum. Some of the regulars find such actions highly distasteful or even offensive ;)

To be honest, I wasn't really aware of much non-Hitman IO did. Sucks for those affected, even if they are in a socialist paradise :p

They really did order a hit on themselves with that last Hitman game.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

I sort of miss the days when I lived in blissful ignorance of the brutal and cutthroat nature of the business of game development.  Like any other business, it's rough out there and it sucks to lose a job.  Regardless of what fairy tales they tell us, the recession is far from over.

Wooo C&C

Meh.

Yeah I used to love C&C games to death back in the day. Generals was the first one that that signaled the death of the series. I still pine for a sequel to Emperor of Dune, because I think there's a potential to make a better strategy game out of it.

Back in the day... Before theyvwere popular? :p

"Objective truth", I like that. I'm going to start using those words if you don't mind?

My favourite is "intellectually dishonest".

If you want to call someone a liar, just say so.

Occupational hazard :(

More seriously, though, one of the things a courtroom lawyer learns really fast is that truth is subjective, to a great degree. Perceptions vary.

You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that?

Obviously citation is a pipe dream (and probably shouldn't be necessary anyway) on a casual internet forum, but it's not lying to present things in a biased way (not factoring in that sometimes it's born out of ignorance).

Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

They may have ordered a professional hitman, but ended up with Kane and Lynch instead.

A shame, that game was good as a punchline.

Would had been even better if you said that they were "Kaned & Lynched"

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

If it's a 20 spot and as good as Mars: War Logs then I'll likely scoop it up.  I wonder if this will also include hilariously awful low budget voice acting and dialogue?

Woman posts a Fallout 4 rumour on a we-pay-you-for-page-views site, Fallout fans flock, revenue stream grows.

The worst part is that I envy the author her business acumen. Posting rumours in that way is a pretty great way to get cash for, essentially, free.

She's not exactly a pioneer as far as posting rumors or complete fabrications to get page views.

Actually, that's a link to The Vault with a more detailed rationale. Funny how NMA and The Vault are the only websites to do a bit of digging.

Okay, it doesn't link to her.  Cool, because I don't want to give her page views.  I might read it at lunch time.
