    I signed a Non Disclosure agreement but no worries, after the beta is done (I received an email stating merely that I will be notified when it begins) I'll report as much as I can.

     

    Considering how obsessively I played Alpha Centauri, this one should be right up my alley.

    Pandora looks interesting, combat seems back to the Thunderdome style which might change hopefully.  Heh, kept thinking it was a Civ IV mod.

    I just hope they put as much effort into the setting and atmosphere as they do in everything else. AC's mechanical elements were nice, but it was the setting, atmosphere and well thought out technologies that made the game so appealing.

     

    From the gameplay video, they seem to be stumbling into the same error most sci-fi strategy makers do, and that is to make the games too depersonalized and bland. Then it won't matter how good the gameplay is, it just won't be so appealing.

    I kinda dislike unit stacking in CIV type games. Leads to death blobs.

    well I would say that there should be a reasonable stacking. for example up to 3-5 units. That's my gripe with CiV 5. Then the combat could also be turn based in a pop up window. for example ordering units which to focus fire, etc.

     

    Call to Power series had an interesting concept of blob fights, but there were too many units in those stacks ;)

    I like it. The terrain is a bit rough, but everything else is spot on.

     

    The premise is cool as well.
