  1. 1. Do you want some sexual (Adult) content in game ?

  2. 2. What type o adult content ?

    • Full sex scenes (mass efect, dragon age, sims :) )
    • Flirt and sex scenes-but not shwing full act (Witcher 1) mayby sex cards.
    • Flirt then blackscreen and voices in background.
    • other
    • NO adult content
  3. 3. And what about nudity and Women(men also) showing their sexuality ?

    • Nudity and wemen shown "Almost everything" on every step.
    • Women shoud look sexy and mayby somethimes be nude (wild women, driads, fey) but not every time.
    • Women shoud look sexy but no nudity.
    • Women shoud look not sexy they shoud cover their "beauty".
    • NO sexuality they shoud look just like guys.

Only if it's interactive like a japanese sex sim, with unique positions for every race and class. It should be playable with keyboard only so your right hand is free to do... things. I expect some new character skills associated with this as well. The whole thing should be preceded by the most awkward dialogue you've ever read.

I also expect some developer signed tissues added to the CE box.

Sex in fiction should be for atmosphere at best and romance at worst, if it doesn't tie with their story then Obs should just stay way from it completely.

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

I'll go over my choices in the poll:

1. Obsidian can add them or not, I don't care. If well written, romances can add flavor to a game, but I wouldn't want them just for the sake of having them if they don't fit the story otherwise. And if someone wants to roleplay a monk who has taken a vow of celibacy, then it should be made possible without having to deal with flirting companions. That would basically mean an opt-out dialog line for romances/flirting.

2. If romances are added, my preferred choice would be dialog based romances. If there needs to be a sex scene, fade to black works just fine.

3. I picked the last option. What I mean by picking that one is that both genders should be on equal footing here. Let's hypothesize that romances feature nudity - in my opinion that should mean that it's the same level of nudity for both genders. Why? Because Obsidian shouldn't turn any of the romances into male/female fan service.

Note that I was speaking hypothetically about the nudity. My personal preference would be to have none, unless the story actually calls for some (I think this is a pretty rare occurrence).

That's my take on this subject.

And about Isometrics, this is posible in portraits and if the characters have more details but if not then simple "blackscreen" will do. It just depends.

will black screens or naked portraits* add anything significant to the game? i think no.

more likely they would cheapen it and take away it's credibility as adult entertaining game**.

_________________

*how would that even work?

**putting M ratings or (adult only) appendages to things rarely means they will be more entertaining for adults.

I have to admit, I don't understand this line of thinking. I'm sure we're all excited to discover the overarching themes and ideas behind Project Eternity. I know I'm interested in how they design the politics of the world, and how they handle race relations. I can't wait to find out where they're going with the souls concept. But. This is still supposed to be fun, no? I mean, killing goblins is appealing to our base instincts just as much as seeing a nude elf. I don't think the Conan The Barbarian power fantasy is any more sophisticated or "mature" than say, a suave cassanova fantasy or whatever the female equivalent of that is.

I'm not saying this game needs loads of sexual content, I just think the argument that sexy stuff would somehow degrade the artistic integrity is a little puritanical. Obsidian has the opportunity to actually make a game for adults, meaning they can put stuff in that adults enjoy. Well, last time I checked, just about every adult likes some type of sex. And not just as some sort of BioWarian relationship validation; it can be a legitimate end all on it's own.

I don't know... I like sexual content. I don't like my media to be completely sexless, e.g. The Elder Scrolls. Stuff like The Witcher and Game of Thrones would be less enjoyable without the raunchiness. Is it low brow? To paraphrase Louis C.K., you don't have to be smart to enjoy nudity in media, but you'd have to be stupid not to enjoy it (except he was talking about fart jokes, which I would also love to see in PE  ).

Zed's right though. Western games have been lagging behind Japanese games in this regard. Remember in Fallout 2 when the gangsters wife would tell you secrets if she was satisfied with your sex? The thing is, you don't have any control over that, it's just a simple skill check. This way would be much more interactive, and open up new and interesting forms of gameplay. Different races and desires would create more challenge.

It'd work out quite well with romances, they'd go hand and hand. If you can't satisfy your girl she'll leave you, or you'll have to find the gifts she likes in order to make up for bad sex, etc.

I want sexuality to be a theme in the game and some characters to certainly look it. It IS a part of our world and where you find slavery and the likes you will find prostitution and worse.

I DON'T want "romances" or "sex scenes" initiated with said romances that the Player Character can "work up to" since they usually end up cringeworthy at best, thus this Poll is broken, since it assumes if someone agrees with sexual content being part of the game he automatically wants "sex scenes" or "conquering" of characters and displaying cards of the spoils and similar.

When you say interactive do you mean as in picking various positions or sexual practices and getting paid off with your lover's satisfaction based on your skills and stats or do you mean more twitchy, as in for example a rhythm mini-game that would simulate thrusting? Personally I think it ought to be the former since it's an RPG. It should be tied to your stats like Constitution, Strength and Charisma and skills such as Acrobatics, Tumble, Climb, Seduction, Bluff and Animal Empathy.

Most of the games you're praising are "dating sims" specifically meant for sexual or emotional gratification of the player, notsomuch for adventuring and story-telling. I'm not a huge fan of dating-sims getting into my roleplaying games. In tabletop games it can simply cause awkwardness between players, in cRPGs it is always with NPCs and every bit of extra development to "features" of the relationship is time that could've been spent on other things... That said, I think Obsidian will do it right, and find the correct balance.

You must be a virgin - I believe using such antiquated methods as skill checks would be an absolute waste in this case. I don't want my character to fail just because I didn't tag any of those less then useful skills during character creation - making a rhythm minigame is much more fair and it is a tried and modern way of handling things. It's something the creators of BG would have used if the system specs allowed it at that time IMHO. The rest I am very well able to imagine in my head - if I believe that the encounter should end in failure I will simply fail the min game myself.

Wow, I think you need to go back and look at the Kickstarter page again.

Obsidian promised us an RPG in the style of Baldur's Gate and Mass Effect and Dragon's Age. It's pretty clear that it should be about the choices made in dialogue and based on your character's stats and appearance, rather than some arbitrary mini-game's result. I am a disabled gamer and can experience love only through Japanese dating simulations and video game romances. I'd be very upset if Obsidian decided to go into this new, modern direction of twitch-gaming and QTEs and minigames instead of romances that allow me to take all the time I want. This may work for younger players like you who can finish quickly but for me, I like to take my time so I can't risk failing the mini-game just because I need longer. This would be unfair and a send a wrong signal to the playerbase.

Edit: What I am trying to say here is that just because you can waggle the keypad faster than me doesn't mean it should let you get to see all aspects of love within a certain romances and leave those of lesser manual dexterity out. Everyone should have an equal opportunity.

I do not see why should I be forced to miss on content just because of some arbitrary numerical values. Look at the tasteful images in the OP - you can get them at the climax of various quests no matter your build, which is the way it should be IMHO. All you need to do is stand erect and face the challenge. This might be a old school title but still a modern game - being constrained by design decision made simply because of insufficient hardware capabilities would be a huge step backwards. Do you want this to game to be turn based too? Thank god you are impotent to effect any change.

Sory I did not take into account this option,i saw brood mother from DA-O (nude but definitely not sexy) and i don't want to see it again ...

So nude but not sexy means a broodmother? Or were you talking about decently dressed with a realistic figure? Either way: what?!

He deals only in absolutes.

And we all know that only sith deal in absolutes!!

So because players like you want to waggle their joystick really fast during some timed, twitchy mini-game people like me are supposed to miss out on getting a romance come to a close? Don't you realize that your approach would lock me out of the satisfaction of finishing content as well? I'll never have the finger speed to compete in some rhythm game but for you it would be easy to replay the game and put skill or stat points somewhere else if you found out that you didn't have enough skill points in the tongue-waggling dialogue skills, for example.

At first, I wanted to vote "I don't care" for this poll, but this poll is about PE (the main game, developped by OE).

Since it will be possible to mod the game using Unity Engine (OE told it), and I know that there were some "mature"/nudity/adult/extreme mods for NWN and NWN2...

If some players want nudity or other things, if they can wait (all of us, we already are waiting for official release) for several year and months, I am pretty sure that some modders will create mods they will enjoy.

But concernant the main game, I absolutely don't want OE making some kind of things (at least, they can do some things like in Torment and Fallout 2 concerning prostitution, or some jokes - not necessarily South Park's jokes though) because I would like them to focus their time and work to more essential things, I believe (and like some other people, I think 2014 is pretty near).

We know that the P: E is a mature storyline (At least they say it will). But what about mature +18 content, sexuality prostitution, nudity etc. In my opinion P:E shoud be more like dark-fantasy and it whoud me great to see this type of content(but subtly). This thret also has a litle bit to do abour romances (companions, npc, player etc) but not "IF romances will be added" but "IF they will by added then with mature content or no"

I'am not fan of dragon age romances (and sex scenes like from mass efect) but i like how they where added in witcher ( Not sexscenes but sex cards and only sound in the in the distance....

I whant to know your opininion.

of course i don't whant P:E to become a porn or daiting game but in my opinion sex is normal thing between people and putting it dawn it just putting down other relationships an adding will make game more realistic ....

I see what you did there.

It bothers me that children somehow believe "mature" and "adult" is defined only by "sex." It's kind of like how parents tell kids "not until you're older" for something and those kids end up completely and utterly obsessed that it's the defining feature of "adultness." So sad.

Wow, what a horrible poll.

Though I suppose people who didn't actually read the KS page might actually believe you, so that would be bad...

Aw, this thread is going to end well... :cat:

The KS Collector's Edition does not include the Collector's Book.

Which game hook brought you to Project Eternity and interests you the most?

PE will not have co-op/multiplayer, console, or tablet support (sources): [0] [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

Write your own romance mods because there won't be any in PE.

Each time I read a post such as yours I feel a little dead. Can't you see that roleplaying games evolved and game designers set themselves free from the limitations of the past? Yet still you stubbornly cling to outdated and frankly unnecessary mechanics, while much better resolution methods are available. Have you played Mass Effect for example? I am pretty sure you haven't otherwise you wouldn't spout such nonsense - go, buy it and try it at least seven times and then come back and criticize me again, granddad. Or are you scared you won't be able to finish at your age?

Sex scenes with a 2-4 cm tall characters?

Indeed. I've lost count of the number of people who *still* think we're dealing with a 3d, cinematic type game.

I would say that the devs probably need to straighten out this confusion, but what more can they do that they already haven't done?

Why? The money's already in the bank and the braying of farm animals is of little import to them, I would say.

Wait, what's this about farm animals? I know Arcanum had a sheep but I haven't yet heard anything confirmed about an animal romance in PE.

Got your attention, did I? I would advise you to make a threat thread about it. It certainly won't stand out much among the current batch.
