It's simply another connotation of a word, it's not incorrect in any sense. Grammar usually has a right and a wrong answer for you, language usage, however, is its own arbiter.

We make these changes long before they ever make it into a dictionary, and by then they are usually last year's meme.

im pretty sure the next gen is going to be a disaster. at this point 90% of my gaming is on pc, whereas 3 years ago it was probably 75% console

 

if the next gen consoles aren't a huge step up in graphics, then it will be cheaper just to upgrade my pc a little to overtake them, and then i'll have no need for a console at all, except to the play the 3-4 exclusives that would be worth my time, and i can just wait until the next gen consoles are 3-4 years old before i buy one for those few games

 

i'd love to be wrong though. i want the new consoles to be amazing, i'm just pretty sure that won't happen

Thing is once next gen consoles come out, graphics will be better for both consoles and pcs. And most of us pc people won't have to even upgrade any hardware, if you have specs from the last 2 years

PC requires DRM stuff...so console still wins for me on that portion. However, I think the stiffer competition for the console will be the same thing that I will deliberate about, will I really spend enough time on this new console vs. my Iphone and Ipad type stuff to justify a purchase? I think the console competitions will be with the new Ipad type items people carry rather then the PC. The same thing has slowly happened with the handhelds and the Android/Iphones and I think the smart phones are winning.
