I bought the Street Fighter movie on Blu-ray earlier this year, it's a guilty pleasure. :teehee:

Yeah, I've got both Tomb Raider movies on DVD. I used to be a Tomb Raider fan, although that's a thing of the past.

Since there are Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Street Fighter, Dead or Alive and Tekken movies, there should also be Soul Calibur movies. And Ninja Gaiden.

And the Mortal Kombat live action series.

I also remember the Mario Bros. and Double Dragons (No BattleToads) movies.

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

The Dig.

Pokemon - To be honest with you, this movie can really only go two ways, really good or really ****ty. First you've got to introduce people to Pokemon and explain why there are dog animals but no such thing as dogs, then you can get to one ten year old kid who never needs to poo or sleep travelling through the world of Jhoto or whatever it is now fighting Team Rocket. Or you can get a teenager who rides a bike and is looking to prove himself dominant while all the same time shedding his arrogant attitude.

Isn't Pokemon originally a manga series ?

Nope, it was a video game.

I think I would enjoy a Bioshock movie as long as they stay true to the game. Because as soon as I catch the whiff of Dr. Tenenbaum becoming the romantic interest I'm rioting

Soul Calibur has been in development hell for some time. Sammo Hung was originally scheduled to direct it back in 2001. The rights eventually ended with another company which has so far not managed to do anything with them (thankfully as I seem to recall their take on the series was horrible).

Ah yes, I forgot about BioShock:

Here's how you make it good though and it has to be either horror, slasher or thriller because happy-go-lucky Disney Persia is not going to work - The guy wakes up in a crash in a city, he doesn't find out its underwater, but as he goes through, he starts to learn strange things and is forced to kill a rich billionaire he recognized from some tv ad or bull**** like that and is confronted by that main bad guy at the end who reveals everything. Though like Pokemon this would have to be done really well because it would only go one of two ways.

A Prince of Persia Remake: Start over again, a new concept of the Sands of Time. Instead, the Prince is an arrogant pauper who ends up wooing the princess in guise of a wealthy prince. This ends up getting him bound up in a plot to overthrow the king and him in the center of it.

That is absolute nonsense. The most impactful part of Bioshock is the 'difference between a slave and a man' cutscene. Remember, the player doesn't actually win Bioshock. That rich billionaire could have killed him, but did not. After that, finding out the identity of the real main bad guy gives the PC a real motive for payback. I agree that Bioshock would make for a great movie, but not because of the genral backstory or gameplay. If anything, Ryan makes the story for that game. ...And it would be even better if the writer doesn't fall into a 'Ryan is evil because he's a greedy rich bastard.' Ryan is a flawed character, but his goals are noble. Give him real arguments, not the fluff movies usually put in the mouths of rich people. What I like about Bioshock is, if you actually pay attention to it, the devs say 'a pox on all your houses.' They don't back the rich capitalist or the revolutionary socialist or even the greedy opportunistic bad guy. They pretty much say they all suck.

half life 1 and 2 could make an epic pair of movies, but hollywood doesn't have the balls to do them right.

same could be said for bioshock.

A well directed and edited film can tell a gripping story without any dialogue.

Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete.
