Cutlock
Number One: Virtua Fighter - I honestly cannot think of a game that could have a better movie than this game. The story fits in perfectly and seems realistic as well: 24 year old Jackie Bryant is an up and coming aspiring NASCAR racer when his sponsers begin to get assassinated, he is put under police custody and is then informed that his sister Sarah has been kidnapped. Jackie is then informed of a fighting tournament, some Japanese word probably, and approahced by a very Mr. Smith type man to enter, who then tells him that the tournament and his sister have relations, as his sister was a fighter who trained with the tournament's sponser. Jackie refuses. Thats the first half hour. Next fifteen minutes details the life of Kage Maru, a ninja who is joining the tournament to get money to try and fund a cure for cancer. The fifteen minutes after that it shows the lives of the other participants. Jackie then recieves a phone call from his sister and he decides to take the Mr. Smith man's offer more seriously. The actual fighting should happen within the fourty minutes, the twenty minute gap should probably show the meeting of Kage and Jackie as well as their relations with the other fighters. Number Two: Pokemon - To be honest with you, this movie can really only go two ways, really good or really ****ty. First you've got to introduce people to Pokemon and explain why there are dog animals but no such thing as dogs, then you can get to one ten year old kid who never needs to poo or sleep travelling through the world of Jhoto or whatever it is now fighting Team Rocket. Or you can get a teenager who rides a bike and is looking to prove himself dominant while all the same time shedding his arrogant attitude. Number Three: Call of Duty - Of course it can't follow an y of the game's story and has to be a film about war. These films could actually work out really well if done properly and Activision can get what they want - money. Number Four: PROTOTYPE - An amnesic wakes up in a morgue and walks outside only to be attacked by gruesome mutants. He slowly discovers he has powers and has to decide whose side he's on, the mutants, the government or his own side.
Malcador
Total Annihilation, directed by Michael Bay. 1 Why has elegance found so little following? Rosbjerg
Actually yeah.. Michal Bay would probably really be in his zone doing Total Annihilation. The story fits in perfectly and seems realistic as well: 24 year old Jackie Bryant is an up and coming aspiring NASCAR racer when his sponsers begin to get assassinated. I agree with everything else, but that I would not call that realistic Fortune favors the bald.

LadyCrimson
I personally thought Doom could make a fun/decent mindless action flick, but apparently I was wrong. Hollywood has no clue what to do with movies based on games, imo. I'd personally like to see Overlord turned into a comical/satirical film, ala Monty Python or Mel Brooks or whatever. But not sure it would actually work well. “Things are as they are. mr insomniac
Borderlands. I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God. So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me? Nothing personal. It's just revenge.

Gorth
American McGee's Alice. According to Wikipedia, the movie script and ovnership of the movie project has been shuffled around and changed hands (studios) several times since 2000. Cantousent
Hey, it's only development purgatory assuming they actually make it. Alice is one of the few games I thought would make a good movie. We did see Dungeon Siege, which I must admit made a much better game than movie, although I think the 'war... war never changes' guy from Fallout played one of the people in the film. It wasn't as terrible as I feared, but that's because I feared the absolute worst. It was still B movie cheesy. LadyCrimson
Anybody making good movies at all these days? Once in a while. But from my pov...it's pretty rare. Considering the record of most video game movies, I wouldn't be surprised if studios would be hesitant to greenlight very many for a while. “Things are as they are. Cantousent
I think plenty of games could make good movies. In fact, a couple could make great movies. A fair number of them would make better movies than what we have at cinema at any given point. I think the problem is that most folks writing screenplays look to literature or original ideas more than entertainment software. However, as games demand larger budgets and greater returns, I think they'll come out of the shadows more and more. Even now, some games compete with movies for budgeting and profit. If I read correctly, the latest CoD surpassed all films in early sales and was quite expensive to produce. When games have an equal standing with movies, then movies will increasingly look to games for inspiration. On the other hand, I don't see games suprassing literature in terms of esteem. Maybe someday, but not as things stand now. As I understand it, movies have been the king of budget and profits for some time, but I don't think most folks seriously consider them as the artistic equal of books. Games will probably be no different. At least, that's how I see it. ...And I still think Alice would make an awesome movie! :Cant's wry grin icon: Fionavar's Holliday Wishes to all members of our online community: Happy Holidays Join the revelry at the Obsidian Plays channel:Obsidian Plays Remembering tarna, Phosphor, Metadigital, and Visceris. I saw Dungeon Siege, like I said. I know it was low budget, but it wasn't really that bad all things considered. I sat through the entirety of Bloodrayne (because the only other thing on the stupid hotel TV was porn). He seriously managed to make an entire movie with a scantily clad Kristanna Loken that wasn't worth watching. *That* takes a special talent “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. HoonDing
Well, Bloodrayne had Michelle Rodriguez too. I don't know how he did it, but somehow Boll managed to churn out three more Bloodrayne movies. I saw Bloodrayne 2, and it's one of the worst movies I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot of B-grade trash). Anyway, don't miss the awesome sequel to In the name of the King: Dungeon Siege, In the name of the King 2: Two Worlds. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
