Looking for buyers. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=459014 They could end up cancelling more games. Wouldn't surprise me if they are dead sometime in 2012. They're publishing South Park: The Game. I hope someone buys them, even if it is another publisher I don't like.

Looking for buyers. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=459014 Wasn't Homefront 2 targeted for 2014 too? Whatever. THQ never had any good games/developers anyway. Thanks for not releasing Homeworld 3 in all that time, though. Rain makes everything better.

Looking for buyers. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=459014 What games would be canceled if true? IIRC they were working on 40k/WoD MMOs and publishing everything made by Volition/Relic. And how dose the South Park game look in light of this? Edited January 15, 2012 by pmp10

Tale Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Hopefully we'll still get Darksiders 2 and South Park. Sad for Dark Millenium. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
C2B Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 And how dose the South Park game look in light of this? Probably the least affected of all their games. THQ is more of a distrubuter only on that project. Big thing will be to find another publisher.
Morgoth Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Whatever. THQ never had any good games/developers anyway. Thanks for not releasing Homeworld 3 in all that time, though. Homeworld was made by Relic, and by that time they weren't part of THQ yet. But I know you have a personal vendetta against me, so keep up your childish trolling. Rain makes everything better.

Morgoth Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Vigil sucks, and Relic hasn't made a single good game since 2006. What was your point again? Rain makes everything better.
Labadal Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Vigil sucks, and Relic hasn't made a single good game since 2006. What was your point again? Different strokes for different folks I guess.
WorstUsernameEver Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Hopefully we'll still get Darksiders 2 and South Park. I honestly care more about the first right now (plus it's more at risk).. hopefully they'll manage to land the project safely somewhere else.
Drowsy Emperor Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 (edited) So that's why Relic hasn't announced anything in 6 months. Well looking at their selection I can't say that PC gaming is at a great loss there, apart from the 40K MMO there wasn't much to look forward to. Maybe Relic will get to make Homeworld now. After all THQ was the one pushing for endless DoW and CoH sequels/expansions. Malcador Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Vigil sucks, and Relic hasn't made a single good game since 2006. What was your point again? I rather enjoyed the DOW 2 games. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Morgoth Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Vigil sucks, and Relic hasn't made a single good game since 2006. What was your point again? I rather enjoyed the DOW 2 games. Only "rather"? Not fully? Rain makes everything better.
Drowsy Emperor Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 (edited) DoW 2 games are good, polished games. They just aren't going to have the legendary status Relic's regular RTS games have. I didn't like them all that much but you gotta give them credit for trying to do something different. Morgoth Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 (edited) Don't care about "different" if the end result is a game that is in every way challenge-free (dumbed down) and made for 12 year old boys with all kind of weird sexual fantasies. I'm no WH40K expert, but I always thought this was supposed to be a dark, depressive and gritty setting. DoW, and DoW2 even more, didn't leave that impression on me. Err, what are you on about exactly ? Maybe use of 'rather' was poor, but I did like and enjoy the games enough to play through it and the expansions all twice on different difficulty settings. DoW 2 does try its best to portray the Tyranids invasion as a hopeless no-win scenario, although in universe it'd be one failed campaign (I guess the assumption is IG units elsewhere and holding the line). Morgoth Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Fair enough. I'm just saying that the Relic I knew is no more. Heck, even Blizzard showed with SCII that they don't have it what it takes anymore. It's a very sad state in the strategy genre. And Ensemble is no more, too. Guess Anno series and XCOM:EU is right now the only hope left to get a decent RTS/Tactical strategy fix. Rain makes everything better.
Bendu Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 There is Creative Assembly. Shogun 2 was great. Can't wait for their next game. And there is Eugen Systems. I wouldn't put my money on XCOM:EU. It will be out on consoles as well. Therefore it will have small maps and a ****ty AI.
Morgoth Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I stopped playing the Total War series after Rome. Not my type. What's Pyro Studios up these days? Haven't heard of them for eons. Rain makes everything better.
Bendu Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Because they only made one good game and expansion.
Morgoth Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Commandos 2 and Praetorians were pretty brilliant games, too. The decline really started with Imperial Glory, Commandos 3 and Strike Force. I guess they too chose to go the easy route. Rain makes everything better.

Well, blizzard admitted that they stripped a bit out of the game (units wise and such) to cater to the competative market. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Transcendent Prosper Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) thq publishes sci-fi game metro series and games made by volition who made sci-fi games like red faction and freespace and relic who made sci-fi games like homeworld and 40k. they are supposed to publish south park game by oblivion and insane by some director who directed hellboy and hobbit and some propaganda but well-thought game made by crytek. and they do not impose region restriction on their games unlike so many other publishers. and they are going down? i thought they did well with saints row 3. i thought they did well with darksiders. this is truly a dark, depressive and gritty setting.
