Never got into the Xcom games, but I think this one will be a good one to start.

Will be better than the other ones, at least.

Console release? Unreal Engine? Doesn't sound like a throwaway title. Firaxis is not known for that kind.

I really can't picture x-com turn based combat working with a controller.

Most likely it will end up similar to Civ:Revolutions.

Just ported to PC for IP milkage.

What's happening with the new Relic game? An announcement was supposed to be made in August or something and there's still no word on the official website.

X-Com is easily one of the best games ever made. nobody will ever be able to make anything better than the first game, using the same formula. I just hope they don't embarrass themselves with the new game

Huge news! This may be the one developer that can really pull off a modern Xcom. If they can do a modern update, like they did with Pirates a few years back, I'll be happy as a clam.

Technically it's not that new anymore, 2005, but I played it a few months ago and it still looks pretty solid. Looks like it's out on the iPad, that's interesting.

 

I loved it, I thought it was a great update on the original.
