Nepenthe Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Continue... Is this any good? IMO it's in the top 2-3 games since 2004-2005 (a strange time frame, I know, but that's around the time I got my first console and started gaming again after a break of a couple of years). You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions
CoM_Solaufein Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 I read the review in PC Gamer magazine and they gave it a 90 something rating. Which is good since they're a picky bunch when it comes to games. Orogun01 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) "Deeper relationship" doesn't have to mean they were sleeping together. She was on a first name basis with the man that as far as she knew murdered her former lover. Time to point the obvious but...the guy didn't have a ****. Edit:seriously, you can't say ****? what about ****? ReEdit: sigh, he didn't have a Richard. Edited September 11, 2011 by Orogun01 I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
Lexx Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I wondered about this too. Especially about the stories from the book with his wife 'n stuff. I doubt they are so much in love that they get along just as is. :> "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."
Guest Slinky Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Finished it last night, pretty good game. Didn't make it to my list of personal favorites, but I did enjoy it a lot at times. Only thing I was a bit disappointed was the music. It wasn't bad per se, but I can't remember a single tune from the game. Music is one of the biggest things that contributes to atmosphere for me, and this "minimalistic" style doesn't work much for me. Well, can't have it all. Cool game anyway.

Edit:seriously, you can't say ****? what about ****? ReEdit: sigh, he didn't have a Richard. Yeah, you have to remember that there's a 6 month break in the game. It matches the established psych profile for Megan very well, she's focused first and foremost on her work, which is why her relationship with Adam ended. (that matches a few female scientists I've known, btw...) She was initially forced to work there, but her interest for the work itself took over. She has to call the guy something etc. Sure, she's a cold bitch, but I think it's still a pretty human reaction to the situation. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Malcador Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) Is this any good? It's pretty good, kind of tumbles its way down to decent halfway in. Is fun to sneak about, convenient vents leading you to your objectives are also handy. Real shame about the guards' narrow field of vision though Edited September 11, 2011 by Malcador Why has elegance found so little following? Tigranes Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Just got to the second hub, having a lot of fun but nothing that makes me think 'whoa awesomeness' yet. The conversation system seems like a good idea but pretty basic and too dependent on the UI information, for example, and I'm not quite sure how open some of the levels are, though I imagine that's because I haven't explored near enough. Story seems OK so far except for the silly boss fight. But why didn't you play the game in "Give Me Deus Ex" on your first playthrough like all the cool kids? I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
Tigranes Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Theres no third person view in DX3, right? I wish I could use it when not in combat... I kind of like the cover system here, though. Not sure why, but despite similarities, I never used it in AP, but use it quite a lot here. I suppose it's that lack of third person view. Sorry but i'm not up to the latest news of Nepenthe land (did you get hair on funny places already?) and just to give you the heads up, the enemies are also more accurate and have faster reaction time. Malcador Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Wait, why does one need to be young to play on 'Give me Deus Ex' level ? Why has elegance found so little following? Lexx Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I don't find the game much harder on Deus Ex level. You die faster, but to prevent this, you just have to remain more in cover. "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."
