entrerix Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 i want to know this too! Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete.

WorstUsernameEver Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 What's an ideal level to start the DLC? I don't even have any of my old saves so I'm going to be doing a new game soon. The DLC recommends starting at level 20+. Most of the dialogue challenges you encounter are easy (never encountered something harder than a 75, as far as I remember), and to be honest, as long as you know how to pump out some criticals on the same body part, I think you can probably go there even sooner than level 20. I completed it at level 26 and I didn't find it particularly difficult, except for a section near the end, but the challenge there wasn't linked to skill.
Walsingham Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Finished it in the wee small hours last night. Absolutely gokkstandingly fething brilliant. Before returning in the final act I went... hang on. Spoilers. Dammit. Suffice to say I found it hard to let go. The dead money jumpsuit is now on display in my abode, as a reminder of the value of perseverance, humanity, and (to a lesser but still important extent) not getting knocked unconscious. [i also only had four crashes to desktop during play] If it was possible to pre-order the next DLC right now then I would. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.
WorstUsernameEver Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 [i also only had four crashes to desktop during play] Only? I had one, and that was after finishing the DLC and coming back to the Mojave Wasteland. I did have terrible performances since installing the new patch though. Eagerly waiting for the new version of the Stutter Remover.
Walsingham Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I also had a crash on returning. I guess it was something to do with the collossal amount of kit being returned to me. It did lower the tone, tho. I'm also completely unable to resolve one of the crossover threads from the DLC into the main campaign. Which I think is to do with how late I triggered it. On the other hand, I found it very hard to complete even with a lvl 30 character. I'm not complaining, I thought it was outstanding in this respect by transferring difficulty to my command of my character rather than the character per se. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.
WorstUsernameEver Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 What do you mean by finding yourself being unable to resolve one of the crossover threads?
Lexx Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 (edited) Crashed for me once short before I've entered the casino / villa. But beside this, the game seems to be running more stable now for me. No VATS crash in the main game, no other crash. This makes me happy. Though it might be also just pure luck and maybe right after I wrote that now, the game will crash and kill my system. Who knows, without a patch changelog. Edited February 26, 2011 by Lexx "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."
GreasyDogMeat Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 One thing that feedback to F3's DLCs made abundantly clear: people want new weapons and outfits that they can take back to the main game and use. The new weapons fit into the existing structure (e.g. the Police Pistol falls between the .357 Magnum Revolver and the .44 Magnum Revolver in power), but I think people would be pretty annoyed if they a) weren't there and b) if they were outclassed within that DLC setting by core weapons that were also available. Absolutely! I loved getting the new BAR and bringing it back to Vegas. The new bear trap fist is one of my new favorite fist weapons too.
Walsingham Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I do like the beartrap thing. I was attempting to do the crossover (details by PM for spoilers), and tore both arms off an individual, flinging them in the same motion up and over a stanchion. My companion (bugged, possibly in connection to the crossover) strolled casually past and said "Hi, how're you doing?" to the dead guy! LOL "It wasn't lies. Gorgon Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Is it just me or does your display sometimes retain a violet tint after playing FO. Could be the colour receptors in my eyes getting saturated. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
Kaftan Barlast Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) yellow and purple are contrast colours, which means that if you look at lots of yellow stuff everything is going to be tinted pruple afterwards. same with red and green. and since there are hundreds of visual mods for FNV, which one does what I want it to do? To remove all colour filtering everywhere. Tale Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 yellow and purple are contrast colours, which means that if you look at lots of yellow stuff everything is going to be tinted pruple afterwards. same with red and green. Lexx Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I personally would just want to have all red-ish legion colored areas to be like the rest of the game world. Even though I understand that this color change shall express the high amount of danger on the borders, it just doesn't feel right to me. Same with the foggy stuff in Camp Searchlight. funcroc Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 http://www.linkedin.com/in/timothylake Tim Lake My professional experience towards my goal of working with a game development team consists of my college classes, the game I am currently developing with DirectX, basics of OpenGL, the beta testing on Halo 3, Halo: Reach and Starcraft 2 and focus testing on Fallout New Vegas DLC 3 and for Dungeon Siege 3. I would love to find a job doing what I love (which is programming games) and working along with great people.
WorstUsernameEver Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Already doing focus testing on DLC 3? Either that was a typo or they'll churn them out really fast. Let's hope they're more polished, Dead Money had a lot of kinks, though I found nothing game breaking, and it could have used some more work in the art department (the layout of the maps mixed with the samey color palette made it very very difficult to navigate the Villa).
vault_overseer Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 We've known that MCA is leading DLC projects for a while.
Flouride Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Finished Dead Money. Definately worth the 10 euros it cost. Took me about 9 hours to finish it (got lost in the Villa few times when looking for stashes etc.). Loved the story, npcs (especially Christine) and the very eerie setting. In my opinion Bioware should take a lesson from Dead Money when it comes to their dlcs. Thanks MCA and rest of the crew, can't wait for the next dlc Hate the living, love the dead.
