Orogun01 Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 I didn't believe it when I read it, but It said Russia was had the biggest population in the European continent. Type in 'Europe', instead of 'Russia' This is why people shouldn't quote Wikipedia. The nature of Russia was a point of discussion with my geography teacher about 10 years ago. From what I gathered we ended up settling with the fact that Russia is Asian in some regards and European in others. I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
Kaftan Barlast Posted January 16, 2011 Author Posted January 16, 2011 The British feel the same way, but it doesn't necessarily mean they aren't. British people are british, not european. Just like we scandinavians are scandinavians and not europeans. But since we're all members of the EU and so on, sometimes we say we are euros. Rosbjerg Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Generally the Ural mountains are said to be were Europe stops and Asia begins.. Germany is Central Europe and everything east of that is Eastern Europe. At least this is how most Danes I've spoken to about the subject (limited) defines the "borders". Fortune favors the bald.
Labadal Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 I liked Risen the most. Oh, wait, sorry for going off topic, this is apperently a thread about European borders.
Rosbjerg Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 (it was important to determine where exactly Eastern European games were made) You're right - back on topic! I've only really enjoyed The Witcher and the Gothic series - but have you dabbled into the indie games Kaftan? There might be some interesting rough gems there. Fortune favors the bald.
Winterwolf Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) You can sum up things by just considering that :- Western Europe is the part of Europe where countries consider that the invasions come from the East. - Eastern Europe is the part of Europe where countries consider that the invasions come from the West. - Central Europe is the part of Europe where countries consider that the invasions come from the West and the East. Of course, Central Europe suffered a lot more. Wouldn't that then make all of modern Eastern Europe into Western Europe, cause no one in Eastern Europe considers an invasion from the West. Except for Russia. But everyone else have spent the last 20 years creating the rhetoric of protecting Europe from Russia, and of Russia as the eternal enemy, and so on and on. An invasion from the West wouldn't come to anyone's mind. Ever. And even if it would happen, it would be welcomed, cause western europeans are white people, unlike russians who are mongoniggajews. Well to be precise, only people of germanic stock are considered to be "white people" (germans, scandinavians, brits), french and meditarrenan people are already considered non-white missing links between ape and man in the racialism of eastern europe. Back to topic. I've only played the Gothic series, but I was always curious about why there seems to be a lack of women in that series. It was especially ridiculous in Gothic 3. Edited January 17, 2011 by Winterwolf Enough with the dancing clown.
yoomazir Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I'm from Europe and to be honest I really, really, really tried to enjoy games like Risen & Two Worlds but I just couldn't.. It's not about the story or graphics, it was more about gameplay, especially for Risen, I think it was goddamn broken in many aspects, that stopped me getting into them. But I might give a shot to Two Worlds 2, it looks like the game is a major improvement in every aspect.
sorophx Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 it's exactly like Risen but with better graphics Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. And having been educated solely by mkreku in this respect I am convinced that Finland essentially IS the wh40k universe.

I should have written "invasions came from the...". It was more about last thousand years and the different conflicts than just last half century. About Risen and Two Worlds 2, the former has at least a story. Two Worlds 2 is a bit poor in this aspect. Edited January 17, 2011 by Orchomene
C2B Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) it's exactly like Risen but with better graphics It also comes with some really horrible writing and voice actors that goes extremly over the top. But its also in the "so bad its good" territory since it takes itself not overly serious. Edited January 17, 2011 by C2B
sorophx Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 But its also in the "so bad its good" territory this is probably true, it can be enjoyable, if only for a short while Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. Kaftan Barlast Posted January 17, 2011 Author Posted January 17, 2011 Me and my friends decided to go for "Divine Divinity 2 - the dragon something or other" and its really good for a GRPG. Maybe thats the Belgian aspect to it, they're not as stubborn and weird like the jerries. Gorgon Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Looks oldschool Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.
Hurlshort Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 So has anyone seen Two Worlds 2 for the PC in the US yet? It is supposed to come out today...
HoonDing Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 So has anyone seen Two Worlds 2 for the PC in the US yet? It is supposed to come out today... According to Inside Two Worlds, Southpeak delayed it til 28 January. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

Masterfade Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 (edited) Well, to be honest. I named this topic like this because "german and eastern-european RPGs.." didnt fit in the title. And not everyone knows what is defined as a GRPG. You could have said 'Euro RPGs sans Fable' and save a lot of trouble. Edited January 28, 2011 by Masterfade
Slowtrain Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 INterestingly enough, almost all my favorite games of the last few years have come out of eastern europe and maybe a litte western europe as well. In the same time, North America game development has produced truckloads of poo. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that.
yoomazir Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I previously made a post here saying how Risen kinda "sucked", well, I 'm gonna haveto retract what I 've said. I just kept playing until I discovered a good game, a falwed on e but still a good game. Let's just say that I don't understand Piranha Bytes choices in certain gameplay elements, like for example having extremely difficult fights all along the game, somewhat simulating a real life fight, yet your character is able to carry the whole island loot on him, kinda breaks the immersion... But exploring the island was the best thing. Soon gonna get Two Worlds 2, I been reading good things about that game.
Hurlshort Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I'm still waiting on the Two Worlds 2 PC release. Maybe it will come out next week

Pidesco Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 The Codex says it's awesome at first, but goes down the drain after a few hours due to lack of content. Apparently the gameworld is empty. "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian tourist I am Dan Quayle of the Romans. I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands. Heja Sverige!! Everyone should cuffawkle more. HoonDing Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 and it's not even the worst part You didn't like the full frontal nudity? The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Hurlshort Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I've heard a fair amount of good things about it. I've come to realize these games are pretty hard to judge based on other people's opinions. I enjoyed the original and I thought Risen was phenomenal, so that probably puts me in the target demographic.
