Purkake Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 (edited) How many other series get away with four remakes? Alpha Centauri 2 or bust! Edited February 18, 2010 by Purkake
Malcador Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Cool, wonder what new things they'll add in it. Still no SMAC 2 sadly, hehe. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Pidesco Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 This is unexpected. "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian touristI am Dan Quayle of the Romans.I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands.Heja Sverige!!Everyone should cuffawkle more. The wrench is your friend.
Morgoth Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Wow, a PC exclusive, in these days? I salute Firaxis and 2K for this brave step! :salute: Rain makes everything better.
RPGmasterBoo Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Alpha Centauri 2 or bust! You took the words out of my mouth. I'm dying for a remake of AC. Imperium Thought for the Day: Even a man who has nothing can still offer his life
Enoch Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 (edited) Ooh, a hex-grid! Maybe the world can actually be spherical now. I am also surprised that this isn't a cross-platform title. Edit: IGN has a brief news item up that has a few screenshots not found on the teaser site. Edited February 18, 2010 by Enoch
Purkake Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Wow, a PC exclusive, in these days? I salute Firaxis and 2K for this brave step! :salute: They have the Civilization Revolution line for the consoles.
Morgoth Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 But I heard Firaxis also has a console title in development. That's either another Civ game, or maybe something new (X-Com pretty please?). Am still a bit astonished though that they don't get sick of all these Civ games. Rain makes everything better.
Raithe Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 It's the "one more turn" phenomona. No matter the Civ... I mean hey, I know I'm a pc gamer, but I never understood why all those console-jocks got so into the repeated same variations of Mario / Zelda / Sonic games done to death... "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
Calax Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 The new battle system looks like it'll be interesting. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Bendu Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Alpha Centauri 2 or bust! You took the words out of my mouth. I'm dying for a remake of AC. Alpha Centauri is an EA IP.
Purkake Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 EA Partners program? I hear that EA likes money...
Bendu Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 (edited) EA Partners program? I hear that EA likes money... But Firaxis isn't a independent Studio anymore. They belong to 2k. Edited February 18, 2010 by Bendu
Purkake Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Well then make it and call it Sigma Draconis, the IP itself wasn't really all that specific or important to begin with.
RPGmasterBoo Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Alpha Centauri 2 or bust! You took the words out of my mouth. I'm dying for a remake of AC. Alpha Centauri is an EA IP. NO I DONT WANT A REMAKE NOOOOOOOOOOOO Imperium Thought for the Day: Even a man who has nothing can still offer his life
Purkake Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 All the Civ games are basically remakes of the previous ones, this hypothetical Alpha Centauri 2 would be the same deal.
RPGmasterBoo Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 You didn't understand me. I want a remake, just not EA teams working on it. Imperium Thought for the Day: Even a man who has nothing can still offer his life
Purkake Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 That's why I proposed the hypothetical Sigma Draconis on the last page. Also, if you want people to understand you, try using less caps and more words
RPGmasterBoo Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Purk... I'd like to see it with all the name, the same factions etc... Perhaps EA would get Firaxis to do it... Imperium Thought for the Day: Even a man who has nothing can still offer his life
Purkake Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 They can't because Firaxis is now under 2K.
213374U Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Yay. Can't wait for some good ol' Spearmen vs Panzer action. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Sand Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 EA and 2K should merge for a brief time. Just long enough for AC2. Murphy's Law of Computer Gaming: The listed minimum specifications written on the box by the publisher are not the minimum specifications of the game set by the developer. @\NightandtheShape/@ - "Because you're a bizzare strange deranged human?" Nepenthe Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 They can't because Firaxis is now under 2K. It wouldn't be the first time publishers cooperate. Or IPs get sold. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions
Purkake Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 They can't because Firaxis is now under 2K. It wouldn't be the first time publishers cooperate. Or IPs get sold. True, but the last time I remember Publishers banding together and making something decent was Chrono Trigger...
