Matthew Rorie
In case anyone hasn't played them, you can pick up NWN2 and Storm of Zehir for five bucks each on Direct 2 Drive. I'm not sure why Mask of the Betrayer isn't on there. http://www.direct2drive.com/d2dturns5 Matthew Rorie

Monte Carlo
It's still a bargain, SoZ is excellent.
Pop
Yeah, excellently dreary. Honestly the most fun I had with SoZ was with trying out different party configurations. Beyond that it's pretty sparse and I don't like the economic minigame. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Rostere
I liked Storm of Zehir MotB was way better though... But tough to play as an Evil character. "Well, overkill is my middle name. SteveThaiBinh
I can't find it on Direct2Drive.co.uk. I guess it's North America only? "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
GreasyDogMeat
Even if you don't like the campaign of SoZ for some reason, it would still be worth 5 bucks just for the tileset, overland map function, new races, creatures and placables at that price. As someone who has played the original Pool of Radiance games I can absolutely appreciate what was done in SoZ. Heh, there was even a cameo appearance from a Pool of Radiance character. Darth InSidious
I thought SoZ was fun. It didn't bowl me over, but I enjoy trading games and that kind of thing. The biggest problem I had with it was the loadscreens every five minutes, but I just ran away from most of the encounters. This particularly rapid, unintelligible patter isn't generally heard, and if it is, it doesn't matter.
HoonDing
The random encounters in SoZ never bothered me much... I had hired the Ranger from Samargol and boosted her hide/move silently/listen skills so high that I could detect & happily avoid every single encounter in the game. It made the game much more enjoyable. What did bother me was how trivial it became to make gold in the game once you set up a few trading posts here and there... then I bought/crafted some uber equipment and simply breezed through everything (including the last bosses). Heh, there was even a cameo appearance from a Pool of Radiance character. Yeh... that guy really kicked my butt when my PC misspoke and made him hostile... The ending of the words is ALMSIVI. Deadly_Nightshade
Thanks but no thanks, I'll just buy a copy of NWN 2: Gold and a copy of SoZ if I really want another set - and the only real reason for that would be to LAN. Azure79
wow, awesome deal. Too bad I already own all NWN2 games and expansions. Riddick, Dark Athena for $5 sounds good and definitely getting Drakensang for $5.
Gorgon
MotB is a quality game, you could say it restored my faith in Obsidian as RPG developers. I played both the others, but they didn't leave any lasting impressions. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all. Humodour
Hmm. It looks like a cheap version of Steam, one more likely to go bankrupt. So I'll pass on their online activation bullcrap. But this thread has made me want to play MotB. I go bored 2/3 of the way through NWN2 and gave up.
Syraxis
There's only two features of SoZ that I liked: the overland map, and the music. The plot was worse than Shadow of Undrentide.

Actually it has been around longer than Steam and is affiliated with IGN so it won't be going under anytime soon. They do have limited activations, I think. Hell Kitty
I've only used D2D once* when I bought Dreamfall. It needed to be activated but doesn't have to run through a separate program like Steam. I don't have any complaints. *That's because everything else I would have bought from them wasn't available outside North America.
Purkake
The important question is: do they have unlimited re-downloads? That really makes or break a DD service with iTunes being one of the worst offenders IIRC.

Purkake
Somewhat annoying, but better than the EA Link. That sale is/was pretty awesome. I hope the Steam Christmas-New Year sale will be as good.
