So far as my experience has shown. I have no issues with classes advancing slower faster than others did not bother me, no but losing experience for creating something does, clerics getting insta heal spells, no class restrictions.........I could go on and on I have no proof of the extra amount of work it would take to implement all the feats/other rule changes in 3rd edition in a Crpg but I would imagine it's tough to do and have it work correctly. Aren't some of them still bugged after all these years (NWN2) Could you please expand on the bolded part? Are you saying that removing class restrictions was somehow bad? It quite literally limits the roleplaying options for the players. Newer games have more bugs because they have orders of magnitude more code and the development cycles are tighter these days. This has nothing to do with the rules system they are using, most of the bulk comes from graphics, AI, animations, etc. More code = more potential bugs. You need NWN2 installed to play MotB, but you don't need to have played it Edit: It works sort of like BG2 and ToB. It might work for some things, but paying for something and then not being able to use it is not something unimaginable or even something that hasn't happened to most people. I'd say there's quite a bit of difference between DRM-d software and DRM-d music/video, not the least of which being that you actually need a computer to use the software, while music/video can be experienced on a multitude of platforms(which DRM impedes BTW). If I can get my software DRM free, I'll do it, but that is not the case most of the time. Especially with music, there's a lot more places where you can buy it DRM-free. Also, what about stuff like Good Old Games that offers DRM-free unlimited downloads DD service? Is that unacceptable to you as well? The most immediate pro is that you can always download the game, while if your cd/dvd breaks you have to buy a new one, the con being that the servers and companies from whom you get your DDs can go bankrupt as well. Now this could be circumvented by having a failsafe, like free public run P2P'ish download service available.. In essence making what is today classified as piracy legal if you bought the game you are downloading. That way you would extent the life of the game considerable, until no-one had it on their hard-drive and no-one shared it. Companies could also provide a version which could be burned to a DVD and then saved and used for later times, thus giving you a further fail-safe.. That would be the ideal future of DD imo.
