If you can't shell out $15 a month, my advice would be to stop whining and get a job. Homeless folk aren't their intended target anyway.

Lulz wot? An ad homonym attack instead of an argument?

"Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum."

So this makes me wonder. Instead of the name Neverwinter Nights 3.. they will start with a whole new engine and do a simialr Game+Toolset in the 4th edition settings and called....... Waterdeep Nights!

I was going to suggest Baldur's Gate Nights but it doesn't really roll off the tongue ;)

I kinda like that name actually. ;)

has this already been said:

"why the eff is every effing game these days an effing mmo?! is this really teh future of gaming? because the concept couldn't be less appealing to me."

Many major servers did. ;)
Major servers run by the publisher? Were those services guaranteed? Could you actually ask for reparation in case something (or somebody) screwed up? Were all those things delivered in a professional and timely manner?

Further, are you suggesting that developers and publishers should outsource a large part of their business (bugfixing among other things) to the community?

You're not even trying.

Lulz wot? An ad homonym attack instead of an argument?
Huh? Where's the personal attack* there? I'm just taking shots at the nonsense I see, and citing the current worldwide crisis of the banking sector when discussing video games can hardly be construed as anything but. If you can't spare $15 a month for entertainment, you really are in trouble. Entertainment software businesses aim for people with a li'l bit more purchasing power.

How about you come up with something relevant to say next time instead of misrepresenting others.

by the way, it's ad hominem. "ad homonym", Lol

Why would people pay for something they got for free previously?
So NWN offered server maintenance, fulltime DM staff, constant development, testing and addition of new content, event organization etc "for free" before?

YAWN. I have a job. Doesn't mean I want to waste my discretionary funds on something I got for free previously.

Next time, try an actual argument instead of clueless trolling flamebait.

Life's tough. Stuff that used to be free (even if it was only in your mind), no longer is. Boo ****ing hoo. Looking at the numbers of the MMO biz, you seem to be on the minority ("why would people pay for...?")

Seriously, why do you believe you are entitled to luxury items?

Next time, try an actual argument instead of clueless trolling flamebait.
I did. But you seem to be afflicted with some sort of selective blindness that only allows you to see "trolling flamebait". Troubling.

- When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.

Actually I thought it was a pretty hilarious barb. He didn't technically call you homeless, he was just pointing out that it isn't their intended audience. You can't really argue with his statement.

man are you so naive? i played different MMOs for more than 5 years and most of the things you mentioned never happened lol, not even the service was guaranteed with all the server crashes i experienced... Not even WoW was able to deliver many things in a professional and timely manner...

Yeah, yeah. I once saw a flying pig. True story!

Anyway, if you are not satisfied with the service offered or you believe it doesn't hold up to what they advertise, you can always *drum roll* cancel your subscription! And since MMOs usually offer one or two months free subscription with the retail package, you should be able to tell if the quality level is up to your standards BEFORE you ever pay a subscription fee. There's also a subtle difference between "professional and timely" and "unreasonable".

Again, explain how PWs run their show better than company-run MMO servers. And if you can't, then perhaps you can explain why companies should offer the service FOR FREE?

That's right, you didn't. But then I guess you don't have a point or I must have missed it, as you quoted and answered to a post directed to somebody complaining about MMO-capable NWN not being free anymore, or somesuch...

So please, what was your point again?

That even free to play games can offer similar or even better services than pay-to-play MMOs...

EDIT: and that you cannot expect miracles from any game even if you pay monthly fee for it... some companies do awesome job at running MMOs and some publishers should just need to be arrested for fraud -_-

I think if there's no monthly fee to pay for a MMO, then the developer won't even be motivated to create one in the first place.

Or do you think Bioware would just have created a studio in Austin to make TOR free to play?

There are many free to play MMOs they just have different business model than monthly fee... But all so called "AAA ****" is always based on monthly fee business model

Guild Wars or Runes of Magic are best examples of free to play MMOs... You don't need to pay single dime ever if you dont want and you still can enjoy the game a lot -_-

That part is arguable...

It realy depends on your gaming preferences...

Atm there is no single MMO which i tried and liked to play it more than few days...

But in the past i played some and i enjoyed them... But at some point they all turned into doing the same thing over and over -_-
