just found out my sister is moving back to wellington from melbourne "soon"

it's been good with her in another country. she annoys the hell outta me - and with her over there, i've had free reign of the city with no word of what i get up to getting back to the rest of my family

Watched football. Saw my Green Bay team give the Lions the big L. Only the Lions could break the losing record.

Did my weekly cleaning around my place.

No more sex for shryke?

it's bad mainly because we know a lot of the same people, so she'll find out certain things i've been up to and then tells the rest of the family

quite often when she still lived here whenever i rang my mother for her birthday and stuff, i'd get the whole "your sister told me ---" :*

your sister sounds like a real c. no offense

There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.

Last night I arrived in San Diego after about a 14 hour drive. We parked our RV in front of my sister's house the day before for a holiday visit. Then I woke up at 6:00 AM, took a 1 minute shower, and hit the road while my wife and daughter slept in the back. It was pretty fun, but I was pretty wiped out when we arrived. We did take a lot of breaks to let the little one stretch her legs. She was pretty miserable for the last 30 miles, but we covered 450 miles.

So today we just relaxed and watched movies. Tomorrow we are going to the San Diego Zoo.

Today my christmas holiday ended, and i am back at work. Lucky for me though, there isn't really much to do.

Today I asked this girl out. The word "girlfriend" bothers me but I really like her so I guess it's gotta be that way. We got Dunkin Donuts and then watched a movie. It was sweet.

Received a call for a job interview. Not a head hunter or a contract job this time. Hopefully this will be a better opportunity than the last two have been. The first one I told no because of onerous contract conditions, the second was OK but they insisted I start right away and obviously, I can't. I am getting a little nervous as the end gets closer.

same thing happened to me at the end of the dot-com bubble when my company bellied up. i wanted a job that i would like as well as a location i could deal with. up till the CO gig, my best bet was a job near quantico for what was realistically a pay cut (technically it was a $10k raise, but the cost of living is ridiculous there compared to melbourne, FL). instead i ended up in CO for the same pay, but same cost of living to boot (and a killer lifestyle here). anyway, the moral of the story was that even though we were pushing our savings to the limit and it got a bit scary, you can't just take anything because you might end up miserable and no better off than unemployed.

good luck, btw.

Thanks. I have a good feeling about this one. I think it will be less pay but much greater stability. It's a government job.

Resigned moderator status to concentrate on family. I felt I wasn't able to carry my weight, compared with the rest of the squad who work harder than you might think.

Drank most of my stepfather's christmas present with my stepfather. a 21 year old Balvenie port wood single malt. We discussed ten dimensional beings, the Arab-Israeli problem, and male pregnancy.

Sorted strategy for a 30 million pound court case am involved with. It's hilariously amateurish on the part of the opposition. At least it is hilarious if you've just drunk half a bottle of 21 year old malt whisky!

For high-end litigation, all manner of consultants are often retained to help make the client's case. I recall Wals' summary of his vocation as a kind of freelance scientist. When the object of the suit is overtly technical, it is not uncommon for experts in the field to be involved in litigation strategy discussions and the like.

Anyhow, best of luck with the family issues, Walsy. (And with the likely hangover to come.)
