LadyCrimson Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 I listened to the rain. I watched the rain. I took a walk in rain. I snapped photos of things wet with rain. I danced with kitty to the beat of rain. I listened to the rain. I watched the rain. I'm now bored of rain. “Things are as they are. Gorth Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 I listened to the rain. I watched the rain. I took a walk in rain. I snapped photos of things wet with rain. I danced with kitty to the beat of rain. I listened to the rain. I watched the rain. I'm now bored of rain. Well, in about a months time, people will have forgotten what rain looks like in this part of the world. They may see some of your rainy pictures in a fairy tale book (together with unicorns and the tooth fairy). Not doing much this weekend. Had to standby on the phone all Saturday, from 04:30 in the morning and onwards. Never got a call though. Today, Sunday, I am just procrastinating. I should cut some of the stuff in my garden now that the weeds have been brought under control. Meh, one thing at a time. “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Deraldin Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 I made a small snowman tonight. Our neighbours go down to Florida every winter to avoid the snow and they looked like they were getting all packed up to leave tomorrow morning. Went down to the hockey arena and grabbed a couple bucketfuls of snow and brought it back. Made a little snowman on our driveway and carried it over and set it down on their front porch so that they will see it first thing in the morning. Hopefully it makes in through the night intact. It has a carrot nose that I'm hoping won't disappear. Thankfully it's dropped below zero so it shouldn't melt too much.

I didn't know I was humorous (oh self esteem... is this what it feels like?) And I managed to get through a night of trickertreaters as the door man. only about 100 kids dropped by but we had three and a half extra bags of suckers so I've been trying to make those things disspapear... into the night! Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Deraldin Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 instead it will be a chunk of ice that will destroy your neighbors deck and possibly break a hip on someone... the carrot will no longer be eatible!! You're probably right about it being a chunk of ice. I haven't gone over to check it out yet today, but it's now sitting in the middle of their lawn. From what I heard, they seemed to have a good laugh about it before the left this morning.
Guard Dog Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I had dinner with a lady I just met last week yesterday. First date I've been on in ages. She dosn't like dogs. I don't think we would get along. "While it is true you learn with age, the down side is what you often learn is what a damn fool you were before" Thomas Sowell
Guest The Architect Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 No, no you wouldn't. It wouldn't be easy dating someone who doesn't like themselves.
Musopticon? Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 (edited) Did my first teaching(in an academic subject) for two classes aged 15-17, on Religious reformation in the 16th century and on Second World War post-Barbarossa. That was...difficult and different. They are certainly a handful, but much less than say, teaching young fire fighters about knots and first aid. And I've done that, a lot. I should do a quick transparency on Absolutism and perhaps on Louis XIV and Baroque, but I'll leave that for next morning. Bloody hell, I could become a teacher. I actually have it in me. Enoch Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Had an awesome evening last night. Ordered pizza. Talked the wife into a quick romp in the 40 or so minutes before the pizza arrived. The delivery got there immediately after that was concluded to the great satisfaction of all involved (I was just washing my hands when I heard the knock at the door). Then we ate pizza and drank beer. And after that, we watched a football game on TV (and the team I preferred won!). Call me a stereotypical American heterosexual male if you must, but the beer/pizza/sex/football combo is pretty much the gold standard, at least on a weekday when there isn't time to do any serious home cooking*. * (This may or may not be a euphemism.)
Theseus Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 So far I woke up at 6:40 and walked directly across the street and voted. Next up im going to see W. the movie with a friend, go golf a few holes and then go to a bar and yell at a tv for a couple hours. Yarr!

I mean, no complaints from either of us. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. I had to fight against blood thirsty wolves and rabid penguins to get my food. taks Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 i voted. my experience is detailed in the elections thread. taks comrade taks... just because.
Kor Qel Droma Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I raked leaves for the missus. Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
Killian Kalthorne Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I voted. "Your Job is not to die for your country, but set a man on fire, and take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."
Guard Dog Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I voted. Tonight I'll go home and watch the election returns. If Obama wins I'm going online and buying a shortwave radio, two sets of rechargable batteries, canned goods and bottled water and a thousand rounds of ammo for each of my firearms. Oh and five hundred pounds of dog food and two cases of Milk Bones. I kid of course.... I'll probably just play NWN2 (still trying to get throught the first time) and get well and truly drunk and try to forget that the majority of my countrymen might be out there making a serious mistake. Trenitay Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 How is it a mistake. Obama is much better than McCain. Hey now, my mother is huge and don't you forget it. The drunk can't even get off the couch to make herself a vodka drenched sandwich. Octopus suck.
Hurlshort Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 McCain and Obama are remarkably similar in their policies. I'm not sure if you will really know the difference. My vote is based on the VP candidates this year. The insurance company of the lady who hit my car finally accepted full liability. It's been two months of headaches.
Guard Dog Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 How is it a mistake. Obama is much better than McCain. I strongly disagree. And I disagree with Hurlshot, there are stark differences between the two. Obama by himself is not so bad. Obama with a liberal/socialist supermajority in congress and four years of unfettered power.... terrifying. samm Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 liberal/socialistPolitics are incredibly differnent in the US it seems. In my political environment, this combination would seem like a contradiction (except if "liberal" means socially liberal, and even then it wouldn't really fit). I have some incredibly productive days behind me now, and still two of them to go. I certainly hope I'm not totally burnt out by then... Citizen of a country with a racist, hypocritical majority

And kudos for pointing it out. In US politics the word "liberal" has taken on a meaning that is polar opposite it's textbook definition. samm Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I see. That's interesting, and thanks for pointing it out! How come? I'll have to be careful with the word 'liberal' then when talking with US Americans about politcs (which does happen every now and then, my girlfriend's father coming from California).
