Tel Aviv Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 The V.O. sounds like Tony Plana of Grim Fandango fame.
WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I will not be hyped entirely for this game until I see non-CG-explosions and hear Kristoffer Tabori. *clap*clap* Now hurry up. "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
ryan@seganerds Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 So, just to make sure, this is using the ingame engine? or is it all CGI? SEGANERDS #1 unofficial Sega News website
Tigranes Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 No official word, but I'd say CGI. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
ryan@seganerds Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 in that case the CGI is pretty bad quality in some areas. SEGANERDS #1 unofficial Sega News website

Unfortunately, since the game is currently holding a Mature rating, we are unable to share a direct like to the movie on our YouTube page. We can, however, direct you to our website, which is properly age-gated and, again, totally awesome. The trailer is a taste of things to come, there
Pidesco Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Does anyone know one of those handy reverse blurring algorithms from spy movies, so we can actually tell what's going on the TV screen? WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I like the second. Tigranes Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Clearly, the second shot shows some dynamic romance gameplay. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
HanSh0t1st Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 (edited) Bloody hell, this trailer looks amazing. The part where the briefcase is handed over has put some of my concerns regarding a lack of RPG elements at rest (I'm not entirely sure why, but it has) even if the Mike's facial expression at that bit makes him look like a really crappy porn actor. Nonetheless, I can't wait for a gameplay trailer and any new info that's coming One question, though: are we sure yet of how customisable Mike is at the start of the game? Edited October 22, 2008 by HanSh0t1st If at first you don't succeed, don't try Russian Roulette... Do I look like a reasonable man, or a peppermint nightmare?
Cl_Flushentityhero Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 One question, though: are we sure yet of how customisable Mike is at the start of the game? Not really. It's probably safe to assume we have a few skills points to spread around, but I don't know what other customization options you'll start with.
Pop Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 I think he means appearance-wise. I think I read somewhere that you'll be able to choose Thorton's basic look. Skin color, hair style etc. (I think they said facial hair was out, but you could use fake moustaches and the like in subterfuge) Of course, if that's the case we'll probably get the same VA problems you got as a black dude in Mass Effect, but whatever. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!

Cycloneman Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I know those levels! I don't believe you. Prove it. I don't post if I don't have anything to say, which I guess makes me better than the rest of your so-called "community."
Calax Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I want to like the game but every thing I've heard is that it'll be either a nightmare trying to keep all the factions happy so that you don't get a terminal case of the "we hate yous so yous no gets guns!" or that there will be a single faction that you have to get happy and the others can run off and play with themselves for all the main game is concerned. Could we have a character like whasshisname in Burn Notice? (the main character, not Bruce Cambell) Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Cl_Flushentityhero Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Where did you you hear all this stuff about factions?
Wrath of Dagon Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 What!? Having factions is a bad thing now? You can't keep them all happy, who you side with will affect the game, it's called roleplaying. "Moral indignation is a standard strategy for endowing the idiot with dignity." Marshall McLuhan
Calax Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 genrally I find factions to fall into two catagories when put in a game: Several factions which are tertiary to your gaming experiance. not necessary to complete the game but might give you an ok bonus if you did the right seven quests and keep them happy by having money thrown their way every chance you get. or Factions that are required for gameplay purposes which at some point or another will end up making you do a repetative quest to grind out rep with said faction until you are loved enough they will open the way for you to proceed down the main story. AP isn't a free roaming game, and I seriously doubt you can perform sidequests other than the secondary objectives in each mission. Does that help?
Calax Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 not free roaming in the sense of say Oblivion but there will still probably be areas where you wander around, that's standard for an RPG of any type. Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
